Chapter 1: Shopping Trip
Chapter Text
Taehyung was special. The MSW had ended up needing Yoongi's help last month, and Taehyung had been the one to convince him to help. On Yoongi's terms, of course. The MSW wanted the dragon slain, but Yoongi had simply captured it and brought it to the castle. Ever since that day, the MSW was constantly trying to chase Taehyung down, doing their best to convince him to enroll, and by connection, get Yoongi to enroll as well.
Taehyung, of course, would rather eat mugwort raw than join them, but it didn't mean he was going to throw away the chance to maybe help change the way the MSW saw things. So when they invited him to a fancy dinner with some other undeclared leaders of various magical clans, Taehyung was all for it, and offered for Jimin to go with him.
Jimin wanted to go and look out for Taehyung, but the problem came when he had to wear a suit.
Yoongi offered to simply use his magic to create suits for them, but Jimin had never gone shopping before, and Taehyung wanted him to experience it.
Namjoon, Yoongi, Jungkook, and Seokjin tagged along as well, since it had been quite a while since Namjoon and Seokjin had left home with barely-packed suitcases, and they needed new clothes. Yoongi came in case the MSW showed up, and Jungkook didn't want to be left all alone at home. It was a group shopping trip.
The first place they went was the mall. Looking back, going to an overly-crowded place with six magical beings and one clumsy human was not the best idea, but Taehyung and Jimin were eager to go to the high-class suit store there, and Jungkook wanted to roam the food court. So once they got there, Yoongi, Namjoon, and Jungkook went to get food while Seokjin, Jimin, and Taehyung went to the suit store.
~~~~~~~
The first problem happened when Taehyung wanted a green plaid suit and Jimin wanted a baby blue suit. They decided to compromise, Taehyung wearing green plaid slacks and a baby blue suit jacket, Jimin wearing baby blue slacks and a green plaid jacket. Seokjin threw an absolute fit, there was NO WAY they were going to a fancy dinner in clothes that were completely mismatched and unfashionable.
Taehyung, in a marvelous display of (or lack of) self control, accidentally changed both of their suits neon orange and yellow. At that, Seokjin almost fainted, and Jimin turned into a cat. Seokjin did his best to resolve the situation, grabbing the two younger beings and the suits and pulling them all into a dressing room.
“What the hell, Taehyung? Did you do that on purpose or on accident?”
“Hyung, I swear, I didn’t mean to! I just wanted to create a little distraction, so that Jimin and I could buy the suits while you were looking through the formal stuff, but instead of distracting you, I guess it lashed out at the suits instead.”
Taehyung looked properly sorry, so Seokjin just sighed. “Do you think you can change it back? I’d much rather have baby blue and green plaid than these hideous neon monstrosities.”
Taehyung stared at the suits intensely for a moment, but nothing happened. His shoulders sagged, and he shook his head. “I’m sorry, hyung. I didn’t mean to.”
Seokjin patted him on the shoulder, observing a moment of silence for the suits. “Okay, let’s focus on the other issue here. Jimin, we need you to turn back into your human form. Cats aren’t allowed in the mall.”
Jimin, still in cat form, let out a mournful meow and tried to hide under the bench. Seokjin pulled him out and set him down on top of the suits. The way that Jimin turned his back and tried to hide under the suits told them that he wouldn’t be turning back any time soon.
“Taehyung, please call Yoongi and the others. He should be able to fix this. If not, he must not be the all powerful mage we thought he was.”
Taehyung stepped out of the dressing room, dialling Yoongi’s phone number.
~~~~~~~
Jungkook was just hungry. Namjoon was too, so he didn’t see what Yoongi was so upset about. There was nothing wrong about turning into a cat and guilting the samples dude into giving him the rest of the tray.
But since Yoongi was mad, Jungkook decided not to turn back into a human. Why put up with Yoongi’s rants if he didn’t have to?
It was just a shame cats weren’t allowed in the mall. Jungkook hadn’t realized this until he was picked up by a security guard and placed outside the premises.
Jungkook hadn’t been paying attention to where they had parked, or even which entrance they had used to get into the mall, and unfortunately Jungkook’s clothes were in Namjoon’s bag (with the rest of the samples), so Jungkook couldn’t shift back and find the rest of the group in the mall. Well, he could, but he didn’t think the security guards would like that any more than they liked cats. He was stranded in this form.
He could always go sit under the car (once he found it) and wait, but since Yoongi and Namjoon hadn’t seen him get kicked out, they would probably stay in the mall looking for him if he didn’t figure out a way to contact them, and Jungkook would be under the car four hours until they came back to check.
It was a predicament, that was for sure. He decided that finding the car was a safe bet for now; maybe it would be unlocked, and he could cover up with any spare clothes in there. It was just a shame that for all the different species running through his blood, he didn’t inherit an ounce of magical power besides shapeshifting. He wished he could just conjure up some clothes for himself.
~~~~~~~
Namjoon was in hot water. First, he and Jungkook had used Jungkook’s cat powers to convince the sample dude to feed them (who couldn’t resist a cute cat?), then he had lost Jungkook, then he had run into a super rich looking lady who had spent a good half hour lecturing him, before Yoongi managed to pull him away from her. The Yoongi had spent a half hour himself, lecturing Namjoon.
Namjoon thought it would never end, but eventually, Yoongi’s phone started ringing. He glanced at the caller ID, let out a weary sigh, and answered.
“Taehyung, please don’t be calling me to tell me bad news. Please.”
Namjoon watched as Yoongi’s expression turned dark, before Yoongi shot him a look saying ‘if you move from this spot you’re dead’ and stepping away to talk to Taehyung for another minute. When he came back, Yoongi looked like he’d aged a thousand years.
“Okay, you’re off the hook, for now, because we need to go fix Taehyung and Jimin’s mess. But once we get back, you will search this entire mall until we find Jungkook, and then we will be going home, whether anyone has bought anything or not.”
Namjoon swallowed and nodded. Yoongi was rarely ever mad, mostly tired and frustrated, so Namjoon wasn’t too worried, but he made sure not to bump into anything or anyone the whole walk to the suit store.
~~~~~~~
Seokjin was the first one they saw. He grabbed them and pulled them into one of the dressing rooms.
“Thank goodness you’re here, Taehyung accidentally turned the suits neon and Jimin won’t turn human. Wait, where’s Jungkook?”
“Lost. But let’s focus on this problem first, okay?”
Yoongi barely blinked at the suits returned to their original state. “One mess down, two messes to go. Okay, Jimin, what’s going on?”
Jimin had a rueful expression on his face, and he didn’t respond (not that Yoongi expected him to). Yoongi sighed, and turned to the rest. “Let’s just give him some space for now. He’ll turn back once he has some privacy. Are we buying the suits or are you going to put them back?”
Seokjin grabbed the suits before Taehyung could. “We’re putting them back. Let’s clear out so Jimin will turn back, and then we can find Jungkook.”
Soon, Jimin was left in the dressing room with his original clothes, so he shifted back and changed, coming out of the dressing room shortly after. “Sorry, I don’t like shifting in front of people.”
“No shame in it. Now, to look for Jungkook.”
Taehyung, Jimin, and Seokjin looked toward Yoongi, expecting more of an explanation, but he just leaned back on the changing room door and picked at his nails. Namjoon cleared his throat awkwardly, before speaking up.
“So Jungkook turned into a cat so that we could convince a sample dude to give us food, but Yoongi found out and got mad, so Jungkook ran off and now we can’t find him.”
Seokjin frowned at this. “Yoongi, can’t you track him? You know his name.”
Yoongi looked up. “I don’t know his real name. He was adopted when he was two, that’s when he got the name Jungkook. Whatever name was given to him at birth, his First Name, is the one bound to his soul.”
Taehyung and Jimin looked at him oddly. Taehyung was the one to speak up. “How did you know he was adopted, Yoongi hyung?”
“I worked with your parents, remember?”
Taehyung nodded, before frowning. “How are we going to find him then?”
Seokjin looked more worried than the rest. “He’s so young. I can’t believe we lost him.”
Namjoon patted Seokjin on the shoulder. “Don’t talk like he’s dead, hyung. We’ll find him. I have his clothes in my bag, if that helps.”
Yoongi looked up at that. “I have an idea that might work. Hopefully.” He tapped on the door to the dressing room three times, before opening it and stepping into his castle. He went into the hallway, a good ways down, before opening a door. Inside, there were two bigger dogs with a pack of little puppies. The dogs were distant relatives, both descendents of Argos, a dog who had been blessed by the Greek gods (according to story- Yoongi had never seen any Greek gods or goddesses in all his years). Argos had been known for his speed and tracking skills. Yoongi left the father dog with the pack, but took the mother dog with him. Holly had the best nose of the group, and the little ones were old enough to be left without their mother for brief times.
When he got back to the suit store, Holly had a mirage spell casted on her to make her look as a human. Namjoon passed Yoongi the shirt, Jungkook’s shirt, and Holly took a couple of sniffs. Her head jerked up as she caught the scent. Jungkook’s smell had been in the suit shop briefly, before the group had split up. Holly started towards the food court.
Namjoon was the one who stuck closest to Holly. He had long legs, so it wasn’t hard for him to keep up with her pace. Jimin and Taehyung were right behind him, almost jogging. Namjoon remembered every step of the way, walking up to the food court, stopping by the bathrooms so Jungkook could change, going by the samples dude, and then…
Holly started to go outside. Had Jungkook really left the building to get away from Yoongi’s rantings? Namjoon felt jealous for a minute, wishing he’d been able to escape when Yoongi had scolded him. But, Namjoon was sure that Jungkook would get ten times more of a scolding for this stunt, so he didn’t feel too jealous.
Holly wandered around the parking lot for a while, before ending up at their car. Yoongi could have just teleported them in and out of the mall, but according to Taehyung, it wasn’t a ‘real’ shopping experience unless you had to find parking, so Yoongi had just teleported them (and a car) into a quiet tunnel path and they’d driven from there.
Holly had her nose under the car, and she was barking excitedly. And, to no one’s surprise, Jungkook came squealing out from under the car when he heard her barking. Jungkook stared up at them with wide eyes, doing his best to look innocent. No one was buying it.
True to his word, Yoongi had everyone packed up in the car and drove them all back to the tunnel, before teleporting them to the castle.
It was fairly ominous, the six of them sitting around one of the tables, Jimin, Jungkook, Taehyung, and Namjoon doing their best to avoid the glares of Yoongi and Seokjin. They avoided them well, too, until Taehyung had a random idea.
“We should have Hope over for dinner tonight. He’s got good taste in fashion, and he could help figure out what suits to wear. Of course, just ideas, we won’t be shopping again for a while…”
Yoongi set his head down on the table and sighed, but Seokjin perked up. “Maybe we should. It’d be nice to have someone back me up when I pick out nice clothes for you. I’m sure he’d agree with me, baby blue and green plaid are not formal enough for the upcoming dinner.”
The five of them all looked at Yoongi expectantly, waiting for the owner of the Castle to give permission. Yoongi waved his hand at them, not looking up. “Just keep him out of my sight, he’s so annoying with his childish humor. I see him every few months, that’s enough for me.”
Soon enough, after friendly bickering between friends, Jimin and Taehyung were fitted for suits and Yoongi had conjured up the final project, joining the rest for a movie night even though he’d seemed adverse to spending time with Hoseok before. They actually got along well, they just didn’t like to admit it.
Seokjin and Namjoon needed new clothes, though, and they used the computer in the library to order some off of ebay. Namjoon wasn’t sure how he felt about that, because while the website said ebay, he was 99% sure that his human sight was concealing some magic-bay site instead of ebay, because he saw categories on the sidebar with words like ‘herbs and cauldrons’ and ‘spellbooks’ and ‘wizard robes’. He was pretty sure that must be the site that Yoongi got his clothes from, because he still wore those tacky bad-hollywood-ripoff robes all the time. Fortunately, Namjoon and Seokjin had relatively good taste, and managed to get clothes more tasteful than Yoongi’s.
Jungkook, however, was the only one who never got any resolve out of the situation. All he’d wanted was some food from the food court. He really liked the looks of those big pretzels with the cheesy dip, and now that Yoongi had grounded them all from the mall for the next twenty years, he’d never get to taste them.
Jungkook pouted for a long time, lounging around on Yoongi’s bed in cat form and shedding all over his sheets. Jungkook was almost expecting to get in trouble for it, but about a week after the whole fiasco, Yoongi walked into his room, where Jungkook was shedding again, with a bag at his side.
Jungkook’s nose noticed it before his eyes did. That smell… the salty, cheesy smell… the one from a Mall Pretzel. He opened his eyes and stared at Yoongi. Yoongi held the bag out towards him, and Jungkook could see him struggling to keep a smile off his face. Jungkook sifted back to human, not even caring that he was naked, and took the bag from Yoongi. Jungkook didn’t even notice as Yoongi wrapped a robe around him, just sitting down on the edge of Yoongi’s bed and opening the bag. Inside was the coveted pretzel. Jungkook took it out, holding it up like it was Simba from The Lion King, before he remembered. The cheesy dip. He held the pretzel in one hand and pulled out the dip. He opened the dip carefully, doing his best to not spill any on the bed, and hesitated. He glanced up, seeing Yoongi sitting next to him, and pulled the pretzel in two. Yoongi finally let the smile take over his face as he took the other half, and the two of them both forgot the frustrations of the week before to focus on the deliciousness of the pretzel.
Chapter 2: Family
Summary:
“Yoongi hyung, did you ever see us when we were young? I don't remember ever seeing you, even though you worked with my parents. Did you ever come around?”
Yoongi pretended to be deep in thought. “Maybe if you can actually keep your rooms clean for a week, I'll remember.”

Chapter Text
Namjoon wasn't sure he'd ever get used to living with a bunch of magical beings.
It wasn't all that bad, really, he just had a hard time adjusting to Seokjin's vegan vampire kosher food, or Jungkook's shameless shifting (he had NO decency, he would literally shift into a human and walk around naked), or the random household items that Taehyung was continuously cursing into man-eating objects. Well, really, it was just the one plant that was man-eating, but it didn't help his mortal self when there were invisible chairs and flying books. He was clumsy enough as it is without trying to to dodge flying projectiles and navigate through giant empty spaces.
One of the hardest things to adjust to, however, was the demon. Hoseok, or Hope, visited often. He was a nice guy, Namjoon had no complaints, but he was a little over the top sometimes. Mostly when he was with Taehyung. Which was basically all the time. Anyways, it wasn't so much the demon that was odd, it was the tsundere relationship between the demon and the ancient wizard.
Namjoon enjoyed talking to the two of them, separately. If he didn't know better, he'd say the two of them would get along really well. They were both super old, had similar interests, and were overall pretty similar. The only huge differences were their energy levels and their species.
Namjoon soon learned, though, that they did not get along. At all. Whenever they were in the room together, it was like they both had a stick up their ass or something. At first, Namjoon thought it was rivalry, or anger, but later he saw that it was neither.
The more he was around them, the more it felt like a young child being sassy to their parent. Hoseok was always doing childish things, provoking Yoongi. And Yoongi would roll his eyes, make some comment under his breath, and proceed to act as if Hoseok was killing him.
It was actually pretty funny. The hardest thing to adjust to, even harder than the fact that there was a living demon in the castle half the time, was where Yoongi fit into everything. This group of them, seven men (children more like) who had found each other in the strangest of circumstances, all connected by that man. The more time went on, the more Namjoon suspected that Yoongi had known who all of them were long before he'd ever invited them to his castle.
Namjoon was constantly reminded of Yoongi's age, even though it was rarely a point of subject. Namjoon would mess something up, knock over a table, destroy a meal, and Yoongi would clean it up, no hesitation, in a way that reminded Namjoon of a babysitter. It made Namjoon feel young, and he knew the others felt the same.
Once, Jimin and Jungkook had been discussing their origins. Jungkook was wondering how exactly they had been found, who had been in charge of their adoption, who had named them, how their species had been made known to Taehyung's parents. Jimin had been curious as well.
Before they could even think to go to the library, or search something online, Yoongi had spoken up from his seat at a work table.
“Jimin, you were found on the street as a kitten. You shifted into a human baby, and they knew. Jungkook was found at a cage match. To this day no one's really sure your full lineage.”
The two of them had been seriously confused. Yoongi had worked with Taehyung's parents, but had he known them that well?
“Yoongi hyung, did you ever see us when we were young?” Taehyung spoke up from a seat by the fire. “I don't remember ever seeing you, even though you worked with my parents. Did you ever come around?”
The trio had all moved to sit across from Yoongi at this point, watching him like he held the answers to the world. Yoongi looked unimpressed. “Of course not, why would I go visit brats like you three? You never clean, you always complain about my taste in fashion, and you bother me when I'm working.”
“Not now, back then!” Jimin was whining now, his cattiness causing him to pout and paw at Yoongi's sleeve.
Yoongi pretended to be deep in thought. “Maybe if you can actually keep your rooms clean for a week, I'll remember.”
“That's no fair, hyung, I know you remember. Stop messing around.” Jungkook was obviously too invested in this to wait a whole week.
“I don't know what you're talking about, kid. I have so much stuff to remember, I can't be bothered with details unless I'm convinced.”
Namjoon had been watching from his seat at another table where he'd been reading on mythical creatures, and he chuckled at that. “A clean room is the only way to convince you? I must admit, you have me curious now too.”
Yoongi looked back and forth between the four sets of pleading eyes, before he let out a deep sigh. “Fine. I'll tell you now, and you have to keep your rooms clean for three days. Preferably forever, but I'm a realist. It's got to wait until dinner, though, because I need to get this work done.”
The four of them exchanged looks, Namjoon doing his best to communicate his plan to them with his eyes. They seemed to catch on, and evil grins took over their faces. All at once, the four of them jumped towards Yoongi and started tickling him.
Yoongi wasn't a big fan of skinship, but he wasn't against it either, until that one fateful day when Seokjin tried to rub Yoongi's back when he hugged him, and Yoongi almost screamed bloody murder. Of course, Yoongi glared at him and made him swear not to tell anyone how ticklish he was, and of course, the whole castle knew by the end of the day.
It didn't take more than ten seconds before Yoongi submitted to their demands, putting his work aside and 'getting ready for storytime’. “If you brats ever try something like this again, I swear I'll skin you alive.” Yoongi's words sounded threatening, but they all knew they held no meaning. So they settled down in front of the fire, showing no remorse.
“Well, how much do you want to know?”
The trio of youngsters groaned, and Namjoon chuckled. “Hyung, we want to know EVERYTHING. The real first time you met any of us, if and when you ever came over, all that stuff. Were we cute kids?” Taehyung asked, feeling exasperated.
Yoongi hummed and took a minute to think. “Well, I met Taehyung first. Before you were even born, back when you were still in the womb. Your parents actually lived in my castle until you were born. I was the one who pulled you out of your mother.
Jimin was next. You were a kitten dying on the streets. Someone left you in Taehyung's crib and named you. Jungkook was much the same, you weren't on the streets, but you were at a cage match. Someone took you to Taehyung's house, and named you there.
The only time I visited was when Eunha and Beomseok passed away. I was supposed to take custody of you three, but Taehyung's parents didn't want him to be raised in magic, so I found a different option for you guys. That's it.”
“You mean you were supposed to be our father?!” Taehyung screeched. “You have year’s worth of Christmas and birthday presents to catch up on! What kind of father would you have been, never sending any gifts.”
“Yeah! This Christmas, I expect twenty years of presents to make up for it!” Jungkook’s voice was teasing but his eyes were serious. Damn, when did this kid get so spoiled? Maybe Yoongi should have raised him after all, taught him some respect.
“Hyung, will you sing me songs at bedtime? Tae's mom used to, and I always slept better when she did. Can you maybe tell us stories, too? She always told the best stories.”
Jimin's request was much less expensive than Taehyung's or Jungkook's, so Yoongi couldn't really say no. “My singing voice will kill your ears, but as long as I don't have to pay out any money, sure.”
Namjoon was practically rolling on the floor laughing. Yoongi was totally whipped, these kids had him wrapped around their fingers like nobody's business. Judging by the glare that Yoongi sent him, Yoongi knew this as well. Namjoon just laughed harder.
At that moment, Seokjin walked in from the kitchen. “Dinner is- wait, what's going on, guys?”
“I swear it's nothing, just these brats-”
“JIN HYUNG GUESS WHAT? YOONGI'S GOING TO BUY US CHRISTMAS PRESENTS!!!”
“YEAH, AND HE'S GOING TO SING US TO SLEEP, TOO!!!”
Namjoon still couldn't sit up, he was laughing so hard. Jungkook had shifted into a cat and was rubbing himself all over Yoongi's legs affectionately. Taehyung and Jimin continued to yell their excitement in Seokjin's face, while Seokjin stood there in an apron and chef hat, holding lasagna. Just when Namjoon though the situation couldn't get any funnier, Hoseok popped in.
“Did someone say dinner? Ooh, I would take this lasagna over a human soul any day!” Hoseok grabbed the lasagna out of Seokjin's hands, and sat down at the table, beginning to eat straight from the container. Seokjin wailed comically, smacking at Hoseok's hands until he managed to steal his lasagna back.
“Don't ever steal my food again! I worked so hard on this! The disrespect!”
At some point in the midst of the chaos, Namjoon made eye contact with Yoongi. Yoongi was still sitting in the chair, grumbling as he ran his hands down Jungkook's furry back. Namjoon wiggled his eyebrows at him. “Do I get presents too, Hyung?”
“The nerve. Of course you don't. Go sit at the table, it's dinner time.”
Namjoon just chuckled under his breath, making sure to say “whipped” just loud enough for Yoongi to hear as he made his way to the table. Yoongi didn't reply, but Namjoon noticed the gummy smile he tried to hide as they finally managed to sit down for the meal. Yes, Yoongi was much older than any of them, constantly playing the father role for the younger ones, and being an elder brother to the older ones. It was unconventional, and barely functioning, but Namjoon thought it might just be the best family he's ever had.

Chapter Text
1: Sleeping on Yoongi’s Pillows in Cat Form
Jungkook was tired. He’d been laying around all day, and it made him drowsy. He wished he’d been able to get up and mess around with Jimin and Taehyung, but he’d ended up with a fever after trying to start a water fight in the kitchen and ended up soaked and on a mountain somewhere on accident. Stupid, unpredictable magic.
Jungkook’s bed wasn’t particularly comfy, either. His pillows were thin and his sheets were thin and his mattress was thin and his patience for the situation was thin. He just wanted to sleep on a warm, soft bed and wake up healed from his sickness.
While he was dreaming of his dream bed, soft and fluffy, he realized that his dream bed was here, in the castle. Jungkook’s dream bed was, in fact, in Yoongi’s room, covered in Yoongi’s sheets. The old wizard somehow managed to keep his bed comfier and softer than any of the other beds, and Jungkook was jealous. It wouldn’t hurt to slip in there and take a nap on the pillows while Yoongi was in the library, right?
He shifted into his cat form and slunk out of his room, keeping to the shadows instinctively like a real cat would. When he reached the door to Yoongi’s room, he was delighted to see it was cracked open, giving him the chance to enter.
The bed, the coveted bed, was sitting right in the middle of the room, sheets a creamy color that contrasted Jungkook’s fur (Oh, how the wizard hated it when Jungkook shed on his bed), pillows fluffier than the top of his head, and he leapt onto it, pretending he was on a cloud up in the sky.
He kneaded one of the pillows between his paws for a moment, squishing it between his paws repeatedly and purring. Eventually, he began to feel tired again, and curled up on top of the freshly-kneaded pillow, drifting off to sleep in moments. He never knew when he’d next get the chance to sneak into Yoongi’s room, so he needed to make the most of this opportunity and sleep as long as he could. The last thing he thought before he drifted off was that he’d never been happier in his life than he was on this pillow.
2: Nabbing Taehyung’s Potatoes From His Plate in Cat Form
Potatoes were one of Jungkook’s favorite foods. They were starchy, filling you up until you were satisfied, and you could put cheese, butter, bacon, and so much more on them. No matter how they were cooked, Jungkook loved potatoes. It was a fact of life.
It wasn’t fair, though, how Taehyung always got more potatoes than Jungkook did. Taehyung always beat him to the table, taking as big a serving of potatoes as possible, and leaving the rest to be split between everyone else. It wasn’t fair.
Jungkook had to do something to stop this unjust behavior. He didn’t want to call Taehyung out, because Jungkook would do the exact same thing if he could, but he wanted those potatoes and he wanted them now. So he did the most logical thing: Turn into a cat.
Jungkook wolfed his food down, slowing down only to savor the flavor of his potatoes, before excusing himself from the table and shifting into his cat form. Taehyung was none the wiser. Jungkook snuck back into the room, slipping underneath the table, concentrating so he wouldn’t touch anyone’s leg under the table and give himself away.
He stealthily leapt onto the chair he’d previously sat at, the one right next to Taehyung. The older boy still hadn’t noticed him. Pur-fect.
As soon as he saw Taehyung look in the opposite direction, Jungkook shot his paw onto Taehyung’s plate and knocked a bite of potato onto the chair where he sat. He held his breath, waiting a few seconds to see if anyone had noticed. They hadn’t, and Jungkook devoured the piece of potato as if it was his last meal. He sat for a moment, still quiet, before he did it again.
Needless to say, that night Jungkook went to bed with a full belly and Taehyung never even noticed a thing. Jungkook was proud of himself for his sneakiness, and he couldn’t wait until the next potato dinner so he could do it all over again.
3: Untying Namjoon’s Shoelaces in Cat Form
Namjoon was clumsy and everyone knew it. That’s why they had special precautions and setups in place to make sure that he never injured himself or broke anything important. That wasn’t to say, though, that they didn’t enjoy watching him slip around every now and then. Everyone had their flaws, and it was nice to be reminded of that.
Jungkook knew better than to mess with him in the kitchen, or the library where there were a lot of tables and shelves with sharp corners, but in the living area when Namjoon was sleeping on the couch when he was supposed to be finding Jungkook a nice book to read so he wouldn’t get bored, Jungkook didn’t mind finding his own form of entertainment.
Namjoon’s shoelaces were right there. His inner cat was telling him ‘shred to pieces shred to pieces shred to-’ but his inner human was telling him ‘tie them together tie them together tie them-’ and honestly, tying them together would provide him with more fun than shredding them would, so he chose the latter.
Tying things with paws was hard, so he briefly shifted into his human form to do the task, quickly shifting back to avoid suspicion and batting at the book in Namjoon’s hand until he started to stir.
Jungkook hid behind a nearby chair, keeping his head just far enough out to watch the scene in front of him. Namjoon looked disoriented, and he stood up and stretched his arms. He went to take a step forward, when his feet betrayed him and he fell backwards onto the couch. Jungkook knew that he was still drowsy, so he wasn’t too surprised when Namjoon got up to try walking again, without looking at his shoelaces.
He fell back onto the couch, again. Jungkook did his best to hide his hissing laughter. Namjoon tried walking forward one more time before he finally looked down at his feet. Third time’s the charm.
Jungkook was satisfied, and decided not to stick around in case he got caught. If he ever wanted to have fun like this again, he couldn’t raise suspicion. He scampered off back to his room, happy.
+1: Unleashing His Powers to Turn into a Large Sabertooth Cat and Scare the Shit out of Whoever Tries to Scare Him
Jungkook had been able to get away with a lot of sneaky stuff ever since he’d started staying at the castle. Unfortunately, his luck could only hold for so long. It had started as a mission to nab some of Seokjin’s strawberries that he saved for smoothies, but while he was sneaking into the kitchen, he’d been careless.
Jimin was in the kitchen, sitting on top of the table in cat form so quietly that Jungkook, with his eyes on the prize, totally missed him. As Jungkook crept closer and closer to the freezer, Jimin crept closer and closer to him. Just as Jungkook was getting ready to shift into his human form and open the freezer, a high-pitched trilling rang out directly behind him.
Jungkook had been prepared to shift, but he hadn’t expected his survival instincts to kick in. As he whirled around to face Jimin, his body grew about twenty times in size, and Jungkook bared his fangs and hissed at Jimin. Jimin fled the kitchen, terrified, and Jungkook stayed in the kitchen, shocked at his body’s behavior. Before he knew it, he was back in his human form, naked, laughing so hard he could barely stand. And that’s where Seokjin found him, a few moments later, rolling around on the floor in front of the freezer, wheezing and crying as he continued to crack up.
Jungkook had always been one to pull pranks, and he almost always got away with it, never once being accused of any foul play. But if this is what happened when he got caught, he wouldn’t mind getting caught more often.
