Work Text:
It was an accident.
Everything was, really.
It was an accident that a tree fell down, blocking the entire road and making everyone take an alternative route. It was an accident that said alternative route didn't have light that day since a power line broke. It was an accident that Jimin stayed so late that night at the dance studio, the choreography just coming out of his body, much like how Namjoon and Yoongi felt like when their inspiration hit for a new song. But it was also a complete accident when Jimin put on his headphones while getting ready to cross the foreign dark street, something Seokjin always told him not to do.
He didn't mean to ignore Seokjin's warning. He just really wanted to hear his current favorite song, the one that he's been creating a choreography for all night. He had something in his brain now, a dance move that could go perfectly with the chorus. He just had to make sure the beat of the slow song matched with it before he forgot it. He crossed the street, smile on his face and mind floating elsewhere.
But, it was also an accident when a black car with broken headlights just came swerving down the street, later to find out that their brakes had malfunctioned.
Everything was just-
"-an accident."
Yoongi dropped his phone. He stared ahead at the blank wall, mouth parted as his brain recollected the sentence he was just told. His eyes darted from side to side like if he was trying to comprehend something but he just couldn't. His eyes stopped. Yoongi looked up. And then, he ran. He ran faster than his life ever depended on.
Unbeknownst to Yoongi, he didn't know how special of an ability it was to run until after he saw Jimin again.
