Rape fantasy scene and negotiation/planning beforehand. I usually don’t go for fics with this kind of scene or fics with this much focus on the scene setup, because usually they read like the author has an Approved Good BDSM Etiquette And Safety 101 checklist they’re running through and it feels formulaic. (Or they go the opposite way and write the straight-up rape or ravishment, which I can’t handle either.) While this fic and these characters — it feels natural, and hot, and loving, and like they’re slowly crafting a fantasy using tools they already know and some they come up with on their own to keep things safe and sexy for each other. There’s a lot of layers of safety stuff, but this fic does the equivalent of rolling the condom on with its mouth, ie, making the precautions genuinely, hotly anticipatory. Yup.
