PART I
I’m missing you.
Seokjin knew this ‘meeting-with-the-parents’ will eventually flip his life 180 degrees over. Yet with taking advantage of his puppy eyes and pleading voice that Seokjin wasn’t immune to, Taehyung kept insisting on meeting his parents, saying that they should let them know about their relationship that was hidden inside the closet for at least 3 years, turning 4 the day when Taehyung set them up a nice dinner in a very exquisite restaurant which has name that he cannot pronounce. It’s not like he doesn’t want to meet Taehyung’s parents, and he also know that his boyfriend’s parents deserved the truth at least but he doesn’t want to repeat the disaster of three years ago when Seokjin attempted to introduce Taehyung to his own parents… whom didn’t take the situation good. It wasn’t a very nice dinner to remember for him, his father lost his composure when Seokjin said the word, causing a scene inside the restaurant. Seokjin left after that, cut off his connections with his parents and other family relatives knowing that the chance of them accepting his sexual preferences was very thin. He didn’t need that kind of negativity in his life, leaving was for his own good.
Seokjin doesn’t like wearing suits. It makes him uncomfortable with the multi-layered clothes hugging him and please, he prefers wearing a tank top right now and cuddle underneath his fluffy blanket; thick yet soft and cold against his skin. But he was forced to, just to look presentable in front of Taehyung’s parents.
The Kim’s weren’t exactly just a normal couple with normal lives hence why the fancy outfit and overpriced dinner. Taehyung’s parents were a powerful couple, both names did significant contributions to the world, especially to their own country. You might not be able to see it in Taehyung---he’s the most open and understanding person Seokjin has met and Taehyung doesn’t have that rotten attitude most rich-kids have---but his parents were big time. They were adorned with accessories Seokjin doesn’t even dare to imagine getting with his college savings. Their names come with a price and should be viewed with utmost respect. The whole Kim clan practically own most of the tall buildings in Gangnam, the richest district in Seoul. Hospitals, School, Malls, name it, they have it.
An unfamiliar prickle crept up to Seokjin’s spine straight to the back of his neck when he saw them entering the said restaurant. Taehyung’s mother was radiating off with this vibe around her that made Seokjin want to squirm in his sit and make himself small. The couple spotted him and Taehyung at their reserved table. They strolled leisurely towards their direction and when Mr. and Mrs. Kim finally stood up in front of them, Seokjin was hit by an overwhelming wave for pheromones. Alpha pheromones. Stronger than Taehyung’s. But it wasn’t coming from Taehyung’s father like he thought it would be, the strong scent of apples and maple was coming the woman beside him, Taehyung’s mother.
A female alpha, the rarest.
If that didn’t intimidate him, it would be the greatest lie of history.
His father was a beta carrying a soft and mild scent of rainforest, it was calming and peaceful. It contrasts with Mrs. Kim’s strong scent, but they fit perfectly like magnets with different poles. He was wearing an Armani suit and a Rolex around his pale wrist, other than that, his presence was screaming authority despite of his subgender being a beta. He’s still powerful no matter what.
“Father, Mother,” Taehyung acknowledged his parents’ presence and that seemed to snap Seokjin out of his own reverie. He stood up, grimacing at the sound of the metal chair scraping against the marble floor. Taehyung sent him a chuckle, making his face glow dangerously in embarrassment. He turned towards the couple and bowed.
“Nice to meet you, Ma’am, Sir,” his voice was almost above a whisper but thankfully, they managed to hear his small voice, “I’m Kim S-Seokjin.”
Seokjin waited for their hands, for them to shake his but only Mr. Kim outstretched his hand and took Seokjin’s. Mrs. Kim stood motionless on her feet, her lipstick stained lips only moved to send him a mocking smirk, “You’re an omega, huh?” she turned to Taehyung who’s smiling awkwardly. The smell of angry pheromones started whirling around the room, “Where did you get this bitch?”
Seokjin wasn’t expecting that, he wasn’t expecting to hear the insult from Taehyung’s mother of all people. He wasn’t even expecting to hear that insult at this generation, calling an omega a bitch is like a mortal sin now. Of all people, the degrading word came out of a such respectable looking woman. How tragic.
He got it. Of course, Taehyung’s parents would be those kind of traditional people who thinks they are above everyone else just because of some status and subgender. Specifically, Taehyung’s mother. The female alpha is one of those traditional alphas that belonged to a clan, believing that alphas are at the top of everything. Whilst Taehyung’s father remained silent and his scent grew stronger but still calming. His mother was releasing pheromones, enough to clog Seokjin’s lungs and suffocate him to death. He doesn’t give respect to these kind of people, it’s not him if he let these people degrade and insult him simply for living and breathing, for being what and who he is.
He managed to sit through the dinner and listen to the couple and Taehyung’s conversation about his future plans after college and such. Seokjin could feel the tense in Taehyung’s voice, he could sense the irritation slipping out of his boyfriend’s tone and he knew he was this close to releasing the alpha within him. He has been on the edge ever since Taehyung’s mother insulted him and the dinner hasn’t even started yet but Seokjin remained silent at that. He doesn’t want to ruin the dinner and completely ruin his first impression from his boyfriend’s parents. Well, he paid the reservation fee and it would be such a pity for it to go to waste. For Taehyung, for his boyfriend, he won’t fuck this up.
“How about you?” suddenly, everything stopped now that the attention was transferred to Seokjin. Both the parents and Taehyung was expecting an answer, expect for that Taehyung already knew what he would say. “You’re a Kim as well, what’s your father’s business?”
Seokjin shifted uncomfortably under Mrs. Kim’s gaze. He thanked Taehyung for the comforting squeeze in his thigh before answering, “My father owns a small chicken restaurant back at Gwangcheon and he recently opened a branch here at Seoul.”
“Your mother?” she raised an eyebrow.
“Didn’t meet her.”
Mrs. Kim nodded, “I’m sorry for that. Who raised you then? Your father alone?”
“Mom.” Taehyung warned but she just waved him off.
Seokjin placed a hand on Taehyung’s thigh underneath the table. He leaned in and whispered, “Tae, it’s fine.” He turned back to Mrs. Kim and smiled kindly, “He met another woman, a beta. And raised me.”
“So,” she spoke again, “what are your hobbies? Any future plans after you graduate? What course are you taking again?”
Seokjin frowned a bit, is this some kind of a job interview? I should’ve prepared my resume then, but he immediately forced to wipe it off, “I’m currently studying neurology, wanted to be a neurologist someday. But I paint and study botany during my spare time.”
Taehyung’s mother smirked, almost mocking, “Hmm, painting huh? That’s a perfect hobby for you. A useless hobby for a useless omega, only good for breeding and producing kids.”
“Mom!” Taehyung growled and Seokjin shivered at the sudden wave of alpha pheromones hitting him. “Don’t to talk to him like that!”
Mrs. Kim ignored Taehyung’s stressed scent and continued on, “Oh, come on, Taehyung-ah. No offense but you, a neurologist? An omega like you won’t make it to the medical field, honey.”
That’s it.
Seokjin dropped his fork and knife and stood up abruptly, “I’m tired of you insulting me for being myself ever since this dinner has started. Listen here, you piece-of-a-shit-alpha-that-thinks-she-can-impose-her-power-on-everyone. I’m getting sick of you alphas stereotyping omegas like us as weak and useless which is certainly not. It’s already the 21st century, omegas are now seen as someone equal with everybody and if I wanted to be a neurologist, I will be a fucking neurologist and my subgender fucking matter. Just stick your own opinion up your stinky asshole and fuck off!”
Seokjin walked out of the diner with Taehyung after that.
_____
“I’m sorry, baby.” Taehyung was feeling bad, more than bad and words cannot explain how mad he was right now. He knew his pheromones are probably trapped inside their car and letting it out would only result to Taehyung releasing more. “I’m really sorry, hyung.”
He has been apologising to Seokjin ever since they hopped in their car, parked at the parking lot, until they reached their way home. He wasn’t expecting his parents to act like that, especially to a person he introduced as his boyfriend knowing how professional that two could get. He thought the dinner would go by smoothly, he didn’t think it would go the same way with Seokjin’s parents.
“It’s not your fault, Tae. Stop apologising.” Seokjin sighed in relief once they reached their house. He got out of the car, walked straight inside and rushed towards their shared bedroom. The tiredness only got familiar to him when he saw their bed, still untouched when he left it this morning. He immediately discarded his suit and left it on the floor, changed into his sleeping wear and dove right into their bed. Taehyung, still in his suit but without the coat, slipped in under the duvet beside Seokjin and pulled him, spooning the elder.
“You don’t deserve those words, hyung,” Taehyung whispered against the end of Seokjin’s neck, lightly nipping at the soft skin, “you’re beautiful and worth it. You’re not useless. I love you so much.”
Seokjin turned to face his boyfriend, “I know, Tae, I know. And you never forget to remind me that. I love you, too.”
“Don’t listen to them,” Taehyung planted a kiss on his forehead, “I’ll stay by your side whatever happens. I promise you. I’ll never leave you, not unless I’m dead.”
Seokjin chuckled, “Promise?”
“I promise,” Taehyung smiled down at him, “I swear even.”
_____
True to Taehyung’s words, he never left Seokjin’s side. The last two years has been a hell of a ride for them. A lot happened, but that didn’t break nor severed their relationship. Seokjin continued to pursue his dream while Taehyung struggled to find a job that will support both of them after he has finished his four years in college (while Seokjin still have a couple of years or less to waste) After years of working, Taehyung managed to save them enough money to book them two two-way tickets to Greece behind Seokjin’s back. He knew his boyfriend (his soon to be mate) will disapprove of this but Taehyung wanted to give Seokjin a special gift.
“What!” Seokjin shrieked, just how Taehyung thought how his boyfriend would react if he told him about his plans. Seokjin already managed to break his favourite plate when Taehyung surprised him with the tickets, hugging him behind his back whilst Seokjin was washing the dishes and it seems like Seokjin was ready to break another plate to throw at him. “You got us tickets! What are you thinking, Tae? You could have just saved that money for the future!”
“But it is for the future!” Taehyung pouted. He pouted and attempted to block his face when Seokjin threatened to swat him with his spatula. Taehyung wanted a grand birthday party for Seokjin, the kind he grew up with as a child. There’s no year that he didn’t use his passport, every birthday he spent was outside the country. Taehyung wanted Seokjin to experience it once in a while but it was kind of hard to save money, since Taehyung cut off his connections with his parents a month after the tragic dinner. “Come on, hyung. You can’t back out now! I already bought the tickets and it’ll go to waste if we don’t go.”
Seokjin sighed, lowering his arm. Taehyung was right and he hated it. “Fine. Where are we going?”
Taehyung smirked at him. “Greece.”
_____
Seokjin can die now.
Greece, the place where he would die to go and now that he’s standing at the said country, he can happily die now. Their plane landed after an agonizingly long flight (that lasted for at least 12 hours and Seokjin’s butt was numb but it was worth it) and reached their hotel after another hour ride (Seokjin’s sure his butt is going to fall off this time). Jet lag hit Seokjin the moment he entered their hotel room and he’s sure the rest of the people in this hotel was already sleeping yet he's here, still wide awake.
“Did you like it?” Taehyung whispered against the shell of his ear. Seokjin shivered, smiling happily as leaned his back against Taehyung’s chest. The alpha’s arms were wrapped around his torso protectively whilst as they enjoy the great view their hotel room has to offer through the large glass window. He bobbed his head, answering silently and rubbed Taehyung’s arms with soft gestures.
“I love it, Tae.” Seokjin was breathless. Not only because of the beautiful scenery but also because of the warmth Taehyung’s body radiating off to him. He leaned in closer and wrapped the alpha’s arms around his waist tighter. “Thank you, Tae. Thank you so much. I love you.”
“I love you more.” Taehyung placed his head at the crook of Seokjin’s neck and started scenting him, wrapping the omega with his scent. The scent Taehyung was releasing was strong and musky, almost assaulting his nose and making him want to whine and drop on his knee. “Happy birthday, peaches.”
Seokjin hissed when he felt Taehyung’s wet lips on his skin, sucking softly at the bare flesh of his neck up to the back of his ears. He felt the alpha’s arms loosening around him and found their way to his side, caressing the clothed skin up and down. He leaned his neck to the other side, giving Taehyung more access to litter his skin with mark and bruises. A long moan escaped his slightly parted lips when Taehyung squeezed his side and started sucking a dark bruise on his neck, where everyone can see it the next day.
“Fuck, baby. You sound so good,” Taehyung grunted, sucking more on Seokjin’s neck and he made sure to mark the other as his. His omega and only his. “So good for me. My lovely omega.”
Seokjin mewled at the praise. He turned around and pulled Taehyung into a feverish kiss. It was messy, with a battle tongue against tongue fighting for dominance which Taehyung undoubtedly won. He took over and completely dominated every part of Seokjin’s mouth. He placed a hand behind Seokjin’s neck and angled his head to deepen their kiss until Seokjin pulled back, panting.
“What happened?” Taehyung asked, a little breathless. “Why? Is there a problem?”
Seokjin rested his head against Taehyung and shook his head, “Nothing’s wrong. I’m…I feel so hot and sticky. I think I had an emergency heat.”
Taehyung’s eyes widened at the word, “Emergency?”
“Not that kind of emergency,” Seokjin looked embarrassed enough to say the next words, “my body thought it’s ready for your claim bite and knot, so it’s going through an emergency heat.” Taehyung stared at his boyfriend, letting his brain process the words for a moment. Seokjin sighed, “It’s fine, Tae. It’s just any normal heats I had before. You don’t have to claim me nor knot m---hhmp.”
Seokjin was abruptly interrupted by his boyfriend when Taehyung dipped down his head and forced his lips against his, “Shh, shut up, hyung. If it’s ready for my claim bite and knot, then we shouldn’t make it wait.”
He just stared at him, completely baffled, “Are you sure? You’ll mate me?”
“Hyung,” Taehyung looked at him seriously, racking a hand though his blonde locks that he stupidly dyed because of a bet. But Taehyung didn’t mind, it looked so good with his hyung. “I love you. You love me. I’ll claim you, let you place a claim on me. I’ll knot you so good and fill you with my pups. We could start our own family and live peacefully. So yes, I’ll mate you if you let me.”
Seokjin planted a chaste kiss on Taehyung’s lips, “Of course, I’ll let you mate me.”
Their clothes were completely useless after that, long forgotten on the cold floor. Seokjin found himself underneath Taehyung, screaming his name with every good thrust and hit against his prostate that left him with toes curling. Taehyung was gentle on the bed, just a little bit rough. He took good care of Seokjin, and the omega was extremely satisfied. Taehyung placed his claim on Seokjin’s neck after they reached their climaxes and Taehyung felt the familiar swelling on his cock. It was his knot forming, locking him and Seokjin together for hours which they didn’t really mind. Tiredness took over them and when Seokjin’s heat finally subsided (after another round of heat sex) they managed to fall asleep.
____
Seokjin and Taehyung spent the rest of the week visiting various places in Greece. It was the best birthday for Seokjin, definitely the best. Not only that he received Taehyung’s claiming bite and now they’re already mates, he also received Taehyung’s knot. They weren’t expecting for an immediate baby; he wasn’t expecting that there’s already a child forming on his belly after Taehyung gave him his first knot but a child is always a blessing. Also, Seokjin’s still in medical school and it would be good if it didn’t work on their first try. But nonetheless, Seokjin would willingly accept what God has for them.
They landed back in Korea after another long flight and their phones were already flooded with messages and updates once they changed their numbers. Seokjin has paperwork and theses waiting for him whilst Taehyung got a promotion letter, both of them were thankful for.
“It’s your first day!” Seokjin admired Taehyung from where he was standing. His mate was wearing an office suit, definitely looks good on him. He took a step to close the gap between them and adjusted Taehyung’s red tie that he let Seokjin pick (since it’s his first day at the office) and once he’s satisfied, he admired Taehyung’s beauty once again. “I’m so proud of you, baby! I told you they’re going to hire you!”
“Thanks to you,” Taehyung pulled his mate into a kiss. “If it weren’t because of you, I wouldn’t have tried this in the first place.”
“I’m just here to cheer you up and support you. You did most of the work, now it’s paying off.” Seokjin pulled back to smile up to Taehyung, “I’ll work really hard and when I graduate, we’ll work hard together.”
“In bed?”
Seokjin cackled, “Even in bed.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
Seokjin watched by the window as Taehyung walk towards their small, old car. He watched as his mate drive away with a growing emptiness in his heart. It’s been only ten minutes since Taehyung has left yet he already misses him. His hand subconsciously reached up and rubbed his mating bite. Maybe it’s because of the bite. Maybe because of the bond. Seokjin sighed and made his way to his bathroom, getting ready for his morning class with still an empty heart.
_____
Seokjin’s morning shouldn’t start like this. Everyone’s eyes were glued on his when he entered their lecture hall, including his professor who’s currently writing scientific terms which made Seokjin feel alien towards his own class. Those words were unfamiliar, his professor might have already discussed it somewhere inside the first 30 minutes of discussion that Seokjin failed to catch up. It shouldn’t be like this; he wasn’t used to getting his classmates’ attention just because he’s late. He always arrives on time. His report card was clean of tardiness mark but it seems like it isn’t now.
“Mr. Kim,” his professor addressed, looking through his old-looking eye glasses, “please take a seat, you’re disrupting my class.”
Seokjin abased his head, hugged his bag closer to his chest and mumbled an apology before scrambling to take an empty seat.
The seat was far behind and his classmates’ heads were blocking the whiteboard so Seokjin has to find a way to actually see the lecture in front and take down notes. He grunted, feeling his neck ache by stretching it too much to peek in front. He leaned on his side, finally getting some words on the whiteboard until the male in front of him leaned on the side as well, blocking his view. He felt a curse creeping up his throat but he swallowed it back.
“Here.”
Seokjin almost jumped on his seat. He turned around, following the direction of the small voice, almost smooth and feminine. He was greeted by a smiling boy. He rocked a blonde hair, like him but it looked better on the other, maybe it’s because of the different vibe around him. The colour looked good on Seokjin but it looked sophisticated on the boy. Seokjin’s glance travelled down to the man’s outstretched arm and at the end of it was a thick notebook resting on his palm, opened at a certain page. He looked up again and questioned the man with his confused looks.
“You can borrow my notes,” he said, waving the notebook in front of Seokjin, “I’m already done writing.”
Seokjin smile back and took the notebook from his grasp, “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome,” he said, nodding. Seokjin saw him pulling out a tumbler out of his back pack when he turned back and started copying the man’s notes on his paper. Seokjin’s attention kept coming back to the tumbler, made of glass that gave Seokjin the chance to see the liquid inside it. The drink was in a bright colour of orange and Seokjin immediately thought of the protein drink Taehyung always drinks whenever he started showing signs of pre-rut.
Seokjin shook his head and focused back on his paper, his eyes flying to the last word he spelled incorrectly.
“Is there any problem?”
Seokjin smiled sheepishly, “Do you have some white-out? I misspelled some words.”
The man grimaced, “Oh, that sucks. Here, I have some correction tape.” The man placed down his drink on his table to reach out for his bag. He pulled out a pouch and took the correction tape from it. He gave another blinding smile to Seokjin before passing the correction tape to him.
“Thanks, man,” said Seokjin, stretching out his arms to reach the man’s palm when he accidentally knocked over his drink. The tumbler fell and crashed against the floor, the sound reverberating throughout room that stole everyone’s attention. Including their professor.
“Mr. Park! Mr. Kim, what’s happening there?”
Seokjin started to panic. He rushed out of his seat to bend down and pick the shattered glass on the floor. The man was on his side after seconds. “No! Don’t, you’ll only get your---“
Before he could even manage to finish his sentence, Seokjin already winced when he felt a prick on his thumb. He looked up at the man, embarrassed. “I’m sorry.”
He took Seokjin’s hand and wrapped the injured finger with a piece of handkerchief. “Let the janitor pick these up.”
“But I broke your…”
“It’s fine,” he chuckled, “you’re really worried about that? You got my notebook all wet.”
Seokjin stared at the wrinkled notebook on the floor. He bent down again to pick it up but the man stopped him even before his knee hit the floor. “Again, it’s fine. It’s just a notebook. Let’s clean your cut first.”
“Thank you.”
The professor let excused them from the class when the man said he’ll take Seokjin to the infirmary to get his wound cleaned. The man giggled after the left the room and when Seokjin asked why he was giggling like a child, he answered cheekily, “I’m managed to escape his boring class, thanks to you.”
“Uhm, welcome? I guess,” he answered, biting the insides of his cheeks.
“My mom used to say it was a bad luck. She said it’s a sign that something bad will happen. Maybe to the both of us.”
Seokjin tilted his head in confusion, “Huh?”
“Never mind. I’m mumbling nonsense.” He shook his head and laughed, “I’m Jimin, by the way. Park Jimin.”
Seokjin stared at the outstretched arm in front of him, slightly disbelieving, “K-Kim Seokjin. Nice to meet you, Jimin.”
“Nice to meet you, too, Seokjin.” Jimin smirked, “I hope that my mother was lying all this time.”
_____
A long groan bubbled up and left Seokjin’s throat, his hands were stuck on his head and the gap between his fingers were filled with his matted blonde hair. He clenched his eyes closed when he heard the late night news’ tune, slightly muffled and static from his old television followed by the low voice of the news anchor. He lifted his head up from his biology books, eyes glaring at the unsuspecting remote control sitting peacefully just above the couch beside him. Instead of sitting on the couch, Seokjin found it more comfortable sitting on the floor in front of his television whilst he’s doing his homeworks, not really paying attention to the TV in front. He continued staring at the poor object, as if he was trying to melt it off with his glare and his fingers were itching to reach and grab the remote, turn the television off and focus only on his task.
He didn’t though. Not when he heard Taehyung’s name on the news.
Seokjin stared at the screen, watching how the female news anchor tried to flirt with her partner and the partner flirted back. Seokjin frowned, contemplating on whether to turn off the television or sit and stay here and watch these anchors flirt with each other helplessly. Seokjin chose the latter.
“… I mean, the Kims are really big time! And now they’re ready to reveal their one and only heir, Kim Taehyung. They have been hiding information about this boy, they were so quiet about him! I wonder what made them decide that this… is the day that they should reveal everything about him! He’s very young yet already bathing in gold. I’m jealous.”
Seokjin ignored the protests at the back of his mind and reached out for the remote control, hitting the red button. The male anchor was about to response to what his partner had said but it was cut off abruptly. Seokjin threw the remote control back to the couch, closed his books and dragged himself back to his bedroom.
Seokjin started to feel the familiar sting behind his eye balls when he saw his empty bed, still messy and untouched where he left it this morning. He dove down, face planting first without even bothering to change his clothes into his pyjamas. He curled into a small ball of exhaustion and grouchiness, hugging his knees closer to his chest and pulling the duvet to cover his small, shuddering frame. He closed his eyes, feeling the tears escaping out and he sniffed. He sniffed and he sniffed until he was sobbing. Fully sobbing into his knees, not even muffling down the sound of his wails.
Because it has been a lot of pain. The whole month of missing someone, empty spaces in bed and breakfasts with two chairs but only one was occupied was a lot of pain and it was all hard to take in. Ever since Taehyung left and never came back, everything seems like a whole new different to Seokjin. It seems like he being thrown away to a new world, unknown and unfamiliar and unwilling. He can’t cope up, not without the person he needed beside him, wrapping his protective hands around him and caressing his hair lovingly. Not without his mate, not without Taehyung.
The whole month of being separated with his mate did nothing but to weaken their bond. It’s scary how Seokjin can feel it, it slipping away from him every day. In the most painful way. Usually he can tell if his mate was troubled, if his mate was thinking about a lot of things and overworking his mind but now he can’t even tell if he’s… fine. He can feel the pain, his mate’s pain multiplying with his on the first week. It gets weaker and weaker until he can’t feel it anymore. Until it was only his pain, worse when he was still feeling Taehyung’s feeling.
He wanted to shout at himself. He can’t simply face the fact the Taehyung lied. Those lies were bitter sweet and Seokjin wanted to beat himself into consciousness that Taehyung was never going back. He’s already at his parents’ care, probably more comfortable that he’ll ever be in Seokjin’s arms. His parents’ can provide whatever he wants within a single snap of a finger whilst Seokjin has to overwork himself just to save enough money to buy Taehyung a birthday present.
He was torn at the middle, for wanting to understand Taehyung’s reason why he left Seokjin out of nowhere or for wanting to hate him, curse him and despise him for lying and breaking his promise.
“I’ll stay by your side whatever happens. I promise you. I’ll never leave you, not unless I’m dead.”
“Promise?”
“I promise. I swear even.”
Taehyung had lied and Seokjin has already confirmed how stupid he is for still loving the man.
_____
Three times Seokjin had already felt the world came crashing down on him. First, when he told his parents about his sexual preferences. Both were supportive when Seokjin was still in high school, taking whatever classes he wanted to take and doing whatever his passion is. They were there when Seokjin auditioned for a modelling agency but got turned down once they found out his subgender, saying an omega wouldn’t make a name in the said field. They were there when Seokjin got interest in baking and asked his parents to enroll him to a pastry-baking class. And thus, Seokjin thought that his parents will support him no matter what. Unfortunately, it came out like ‘we care about you but we don’t like you being gay’ caring. Second time was when his mate left him. This time around, it felt like not only the world crashed but the whole universe. The pain was unbearable, both physically and mentally and exhausting in all aspects. He doesn’t like thinking about it since it brings nothing but pure pain to him. Thirdly, when he woke up one afternoon with a hazy mind and swirling vision.
Seokjin doesn’t remember what he had last night for dinner or if he had dinner at all but he tasted something sour at the back of his throat, harsh and bitter. It felt like crawling up and the next thing Seokjin knew, he was almost kissing the toilet.
He decided to ditch his class that time and called his professor, saying he was sick which wasn’t entirely lie at all. He put on his favourite pink sweater and hid his blonde hair underneath a black beanie. He also wrapped a draped a scarf around his neck and snuggled into the warmth. Once he was warm enough, Seokjin left his lonesome of an apartment and set an appointment to a doctor, only to be brought up with a news that crashed his whole world for the third time.
“Congratulations,” the doctor said, flashing her perfect set of pearly white teeth. Her smile was almost blinding and Seokjin would’ve mistaken her for an omega if it wasn’t because of her scent. She was holding a paper, perhaps the results of the tests Seokjin took earlier and her other free hand was stretched out to him, asking to be taken by him on a handshake. But Seokjin stood still, watching the doctor with an unamused eyes.
“You’re pregnant,” she said as if she just bought the greatest news of the century. It took seconds for her to realise what Seokjin’s reactions had meant and her smile almost immediately faltered. She sighed, pursing her lips into a thin a line. An action she looked like she’s used to give. “...Oh. Uhm, it’s fine. The babies were healthy, that’s all what matters. Don’t worry---“
“Wait, what did you just say?”
The doctor looked confused for a second, “Uhm, you’re pregnant? And if you’re mateless, that’s perfectly fine---“
Seokjin cut her off again, “No, no, no. After that, something about my babies?”
The doctor’s lips stretched into a kind, warm smile. She held up her hand and patted Seokjin at the back. “Yes, babies. You’re carrying a twin, Mr. Kim.”
