Notes:

hi hello! so this is my entry for namjin week day 7 with a free day prompt, basically meaning I can write what I want so here have some more fluffy namjin because honestly what else do I write?

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

when jin was 25 he married the love of his life kim namjoon, at the age of 35 he was even more in love with him. some of his friends and family told him that he married too young, but when they saw how happy namjoon made him they knew they couldn't deny how much they loved each other.

when jin was 20, namjoon asked him out and at first he didn't know what to think about the younger male. jin knew that he liked him, but he knew they also didn't have much in common. jin had been into cooking and baking, while namjoon was more into producing music.

but during their date namjoon had gently held jins hand and said "what's great about two people have different interest is that we can expand our horizon, imagine if every couple liked the same things, how boring wouldn't that be?" jin looked at him and smiled and namjoon smiled back before adding "I really want to learn how to make my lasagna taste as good as yours," jin let out a laugh and gripped namjoons hand tighter.

what namjoon said during their first date stuck with him even years later, it even made into his wedding vows "we may not have similar interest, but I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you getting to know you even more."

the married couple was eating breakfast when namjoon asked "hyung, do you work today?" jin quickly looked at the calendar hanging on their fridge, shaking his head no and "no, why? what's up?" namjoon just smiled "I want to take you out, spend the entire day with you" jin didn't say anything, but he was looking forward to the rest of his day with his husband.

after breakfast they went to the local library and checked out a couple of books they've been wanting to read. jin had told namjoon about a christmas market downtown, but because they've both been busy with work, they haven't had the chance to go, so namjoon made sure they got there early so they could take it slow and enjoy their time. namjoon bought them hot chocolate and jin bought churros for them to share. at the christmas market they bought some ornaments for their christmas tree and at some point they stood under a mistletoe, namjoon had jokingly said it's bad luck not to kiss when they stand under one and jin laughed and gently pushed namjoon away but then quickly kissing him when no one was watching.

they spent a few hours at the market, but then figured it was time for lunch. jin had been craving okonomiyaki so namjoon looked up to where they could get that, luckily there was a restaurant that served it not far from the market so they decided to walk there. they walked close to each other and held hands "for warmth" namjoon told jin who blushed, even after 10 years of marriage jin couldn't help but to blush when namjoon said something like that. after their stomach was warm and full, namjoon had made some plans he didn't tell him. so when he had asked him "where are we going next?" namjoon held his hand and said "you'll see."

about 15 minutes later jin stopped walking "no, nope, not this again, I'm not doing this again namjoon, it still hurts after last time," jin cutely whined and as he was about to walk away, namjoon stopped him "hyung, it's been over 10 years. you can't seriously tell me your balance is still as bad?" "you don't know that," jin pouted, namjoon kissed that pout and led them both to the ice skating rink. "hyung, it'll be fine, I'll hold your hand okay?" jin just held namjoons hand tighter.

after a couple of minutes on the rink (and a couple of falls later) jin was starting to get the hand of it, he was still holding namjoons hand, but his husband didn't mind as he intertwined their fingers. "I love you," jin softly said as he was ice skating next to his husband, namjoon stopped skating to turn around at his husband, he had gently cupped his cheek, leaned in and whispered "I love you too," before kissing his other cheek.

they spent hours at the ice skating rink, but jin didn't mind as long he was there with the love of his life.
