it's their wedding anniversary and namjoon is stuck at work. he was supposed to be home by 6 pm so he could have dinner with jin, but it's now almost 8 pm and he's nowhere near done with work. jin had assured him that it's okay and that he should focus on what ever he had to do, but obviously namjoon felt bad.
namjoon has been married to jin for over 10 years and each day he is thankful to be with someone who is so kind and patience. namjoon has been working late almost everyday this week and he made sure to get the friday off, but when a project got push forward he couldn't say no when his boss asked if he could work.
it was nearing 9 pm when he finally got done with work, he sent a quick message to jin letting him know he's on his way home.
when he got home he was greeting by a pleasant smell and a kiss on his cheek, "long day?" jin asked him taking his bag, namjoon smiled and answered "the longest, but I'm home now," jin smiled back. it was late but namjoon didn't want to let the dinner jin cooked go to waste so he told him to heat it up while he got changed into something more comfortable to match jin.
when he came out of the bathroom, wearing an oversized sweater and sweatpants, he noticed a package on the dinner table with a big bow on making him stop in his tracks. he didn't have a present for jin. mentally kicking himself, he tried to come up with an excuse to why he didn't get anything. jin noticed that namjoon was standing by the kitchen so he walked over to his husband and took his hand, leading him the the dinner table.
"you've been working so hard all week, so don't worry about not having anything for me," jin said like he was reading his mind, namjoon was about to say something when jin handed him his gift "it's not anything big, but I think we'll both like it." namjoon carefully took of the bow and opened the box and saw a pair of gloves.
he couldn't help but to smile when he remembered something jin said "holding your hand is nice. but your hands are cold as ice. please get some gloves," but he obviously forgot so of course jin got some for him. he tried on the gloves and smiled when he gently grabbed jins hand and said "now you can't complain about my hands being cold, thank you I love them" jin laughed and leaned in to kiss his husband "I'm glad."
after dinner jin was about to do the dishes when namjoon basically ran over to the sink blocking it from him "you made dinner, let me do the dishes because I'm a terrible husband who forgot to get you a present." jin walked over and wrapped his arms around his husband "I told you know to worry about that joonie," namjoon leaned into the touch and said "I know, but I still feel bad." jin kissed his shoulder before walking to the dinner table grabbing the bow from namjoons present, he made namjoon turn around so he could wrap it around him. namjoon looked at him with a confused look until jin said "we've been together for over 10 years, presents are nice, but you're everything I could've asked for, I don't need presents when I have you."
namjoon wrapped his arms around his husband and leaned in for a kiss
"happy anniversary jin, I love you,"
"I love you too."
