Herbs and spice (and everything nice)

Summary:

“I love you, hyung. Thank you for being my best friend.” He reached over and squeezed his hand.

“I love you too, Jimin.”

Yoongi felt a little pang in his chest, thinking he’d never mean it in the way he did.

Little did he know.

Work Text:

Jimin was putting the last of the vanilla creamer into some coffee when he heard a knock on the shop door. He wiped his hands on a towel and turned to see a black-haired boy bundled up in layers of clothing. His cheeks and the tip of his nose were also pink because of the cold.

Cute.

Jimin unlocked the door and let him in, some of the cold air seeping in and giving him goosebumps. Yoongi dusted the bits of snow on his coat off before walking in and sighed when he felt the warm air hit his skin.

“I hate the cold.” Yoongi pouted, pulling down his hoodie and taking off the big jacket, his ears springing up from being folded under the hood. “You say that every time you come in, hyung.” Jimin giggled. “Here,” he handed him a cup of coffee,”that should warm you up. It’s just how you like it.”

Yoongi doesn’t know, but he puts extra sugar and a bit of vanilla, even though he claims he doesn’t really like sweet things.

He closed his eyes while sipping the caffeinated drink, content with the familiar taste.

“Thanks, Minnie.”

There it is. That damned nickname Jimin would never get used to. He already felt the blush creeping up his neck to his face.

“No p-problem, hyung.”

After sitting in a comfortable silence, the two drinking their coffee and eating the few cupcakes Jimin has made, Yoongi made an interesting suggestion.

“So, I was thinking,” Yoongi clutched the two tickets in his pocket,” maybe we could go- I mean, have this year’s Christmas party at my place.”

“I don’t see why not. It’d be nice for a change. At least we wouldn’t have to hear Taehyung complain about Namjoon hyung spilling something on his carpet.”

Every year, it never fails for Namjoon to spill hot chocolate on the young couple’s flooring. It always ended up with Taehyung pouting and Namjoon cleaning the hot liquid off the carpet while Jungkook and everyone else laughed so hard they couldn’t breathe.

“I really don’t know how he can be so clumsy. Like I’m serious.” Yoongi gestured wildly.

“I’m a witch and I don’t even know if I’d be able to free him of that.”

Jimin smiled at the thought of him and his best friends spending Christmas together like they do every year. Their own dysfunctional family. The kind of family he Yearned for. He hasn’t talked to his own since he graduated and left. He didn’t tell anyone but his younger brother that he was leaving and they didn’t bother to contact him to see if he was okay after he took off either. When Jimin came out, he was about sixteen. His parents hadn’t taken it well.

His father was constantly spitting insults and his mother couldn’t look him in the eye. It was “not right and they could get him help.” But Jimin didn’t need help. This was him and they couldn’t just accept that without saying it was just him being confused and he’d get over it with time. It was a big reason he was very introverted and kept to himself.

But aside from all things terrible about his parents, he’d missed them. He missed when his mom made his favorite smoothies after school. He missed when his dad took him and Jihyun to the beach. He hated that he missed people who made his life so miserable.

“Hyung?”

“Yes?”

“Do you ever regret coming out to your parents? Even though they didn’t accept you?”

Yoongi dealt with the same thing. His parents had kicked him out when they saw him kissing a boy on their front porch. Not so much as giving him a chance to explain himself. He’d end up staying with Jackson, an old friend.

“No. Not one bit.” He took Jimin’s hands in his bigger ones and squeezed them gently. Jimin only furrowed his eyebrows, a light pink blush dusted his cheeks.

They have had this discussion numerous times. If Yoongi has to reassure him yet again so be it.

“Look, your parents were in the wrong for not accepting you and treating you like shit. You didn’t deserve that. Neither of us did. It’s not your fault or mine so don’t ever think it is, okay?” He explained.

“Okay.”

“I know it’s hard. It’ll take time but you’ll get through this, Yeah?” He smiled.

“You know why?” Yoongi asked.

“No?” Jimin said sounding more like a question than an answer.

“Because you are the Park Jimin! That’s why!” Yoongi jumped up and exclaimed.

“Hyung.” Jimin giggled and covered his face shyly.

“What? It’s true! You, Park Jimin, are the bravest, strongest person I know. And that’s saying a lot because I know myself.” Yoongi rolled up his sleeve and flexed his “muscles”.

Jimin laughed so much he did that cute yet dangerous thing where he throws his whole body around.

“Say I, Park Jimin, am strong and amazing.” Yoongi told him, pointing a finger at him.

“Hyung, you’re being ridiculous-“

“Say it!”

“Alright! Alright!”

Jimin cleared his throat.”I, Park Jimin, am strong and amazing.”

“Huh? I can’t hear you!” Yoongi hollered, cupping his mouth with his hands.

“I, Park Jimin, am strong and amazing!” He stood with Yoongi, yelling to the world.

“That’s more like it.” Yoongi winked.

“W-Whatever. Are you happy now?” Jimin definitely didn’t become stutter because of the wink. Nope.

“Yup.” He smiled triumphantly.

“How about you and I hang out and watch movies after I get off of work?” He offered a small smile

“Okay.”

Yoongi knew that holidays were rough for Jimin. Unlike him, Jimin still wanted a relationship with his parents. The younger had told him what happened months after him leaving. Of course he’d been upset that Jimin hadn’t told him when it had happened, but he respected his privacy and let him have his space. So during the holidays, he did his best to keep that beautiful eye smile on his face as much as he could.

They continued to talk here and there, just enjoying the time before they had to get to work. He watched Yoongi put on his jacket and announce he had to go to now to make it to the studio in time. Yoongi had made it to his dream job which was being a producer at Bighit Entertainment. Jimin was glad he was working his way up to his goals. He remembered him being so excited he couldn’t sleep the night before his first day so he called Jimin to talk until he fell asleep.

The only downside was that Yoongi would lock himself in his studio for days to get a song done. Jimin would often leave food and check up on him to make sure he was still alive. When he called him he never got more than a few words out of him.

Before Yoongi could walk out the door, he handed him a dark blue beanie to put on. “That’s not mine.” He tilted his head, confused. “I made it for you. You always say your ears are sensitive to the cold so I-I spelled it to keep the cold out.” Jimin said, the tips of his ears burning.

“Thank you. I would pay you back for it but-“

“No! I mean, you don’t need to pay me back for it. Think of it as...as an early Christmas gift!” Jimin said quickly.

Yoongi wiggled his ears at the top of his head and put the beanie on, causing the younger to laugh.

Yoongi loved that laugh oh so much. He felt proud knowing he could make that beautiful sound come out of him. If he could, he would record him and listen to it for the rest of his life.

“Have a good day at work, hyung!” Jimin waved goodbye as Yoongi walked out the door.

He waved back, flashing the gummy smile that made Jimin melt.

He laughed to himself as he watched the other break into a jog, which he which looked more like an awkward waddle, to get out of the cold and into his car faster.

Once Yoongi was in the car he cursed to himself.

“Fucking hell.” He sighed. He pulled the two tickets that were tucked into his pocket. They were tickets for the Christmas festival Jimin has been wanting to go to. They’d been a little pricey, so he was gonna make it worth it. He’d been meaning to ask but he keeps chickening out. He had twelve days. He could do this.

He’s had a crush on Jimin since he first met him. He was determined to make him happy, even if he had to work a little overtime to do it.

Jimin waited until the car drove out of sight and grabbed the small blue box wrapped with a mint green bow. Putting his coat on, he made sure the gift was good and ready to go. He had made Yoongi an anti-anxiety necklace. He knows how the elder could get anxious around a crowd and people in general, so he made him something to help. It was a simple thin, brown leather strap necklace with a charm of feathers. The feathers were spelled with the juice of a few crushed red Columbine flowers known for their use of calming nerves. He even added some flakes of Rushes, just in case.

He got into his own car and started the engine, turning on the heater and letting the car warm up.
Jimin drove to Yoongi’s, which was only ten minutes away. After sitting in his car for a good twenty minutes, he gained enough courage and walked over to Yoongi’s doorstep. He kicked some snow off to set the box on the old, worn out welcome mat where it could be seen.

He fixed the crooked bow and attached the cute tag he cut out. It was a simple,

“I hope you like it. \(^ω^\)”

He quickly jogged back to his car as if he would somehow get caught by the elder. He started the engine and drove back to the shop, trying to keep himself from changing his mind.

He originally meant to give it to him when he confessed, but there was no way he’d be able to do that. At least not without some spell or potion to help give him a push. He chose against that, wanting it to happen naturally rather than somewhat forced.

Once back inside the walls of his shop, he started to fill the metal watering can to water his herbs. Thinking back to it, he was very glad he opened the shop. Even if he had to save up from doing jobs here and there, since he didn’t go to college like he had planned before, it had all been worth it. He was supposed to major in business, courtesy of his dad, but that wasn’t an option now.

He felt a tingle on his wrist. He looked down to see the charm bracelet Yoongi had gave him on his 18th birthday. When one of the stones were activated, like the de-stressing one was now, they created a small tingling sensation.

He found out from Hoseok that Yoongi researched about witchcraft and came across the charms. It made Jimin happy to know he went out of his way to find something he would love. It was made up of silver links and each charm was a stone with a different meaning and effect. His favorite was the red garnet gemstone shaped as a heart. Yoongi said it represented devotion towards family and friends. He had a matching one on his bracelet as well.

Jimin remembered when he first saw the blue-haired boy walk into class five years ago. He had moved from Daegu to Busan in the 11th grade when Jimin was in 10th.

Yoongi walked in with his ears alert and tail curled up. He had a stern look on his face and the way he carried himself was intimidating. But Jimin knew better. He felt the anxious aura radiating off of him when he sat two seats away from him.

You didn’t have to be a witch to see the boy was nervous. You could tell by the way he fidgeted with his leg or bit his nails halfway through class.

From the side, Jimin could see he had nice features. He sported a cute button nose and sharp eyes. He was wearing a camouflage shirt with black ripped jeans. He seemed harmless.

As soon as the bell for lunch rang, everyone was out the door and in a hurry to meet up with their peers. Jimin sat with a mess of crazy people he called his best friends. It was made up of Jungkook who skipped a grade so he was with Jimin and Taehyung, Hoseok and Namjoon who were in 11th grade and Seokjin who was a senior. They had all grown close because their parents went to highschool together as well. They did have friends outside their own little group, but never close enough to be brought into it. So Jimin was surprised to see the boy from earlier at their table at lunch.

“Chim! Have you met the new kid? This is Yoongi, I knew him from before I moved here. He’s from Daegu too!” Taehyung said excitedly pointing to the boy sitting next to him.

“H-Hi I’m Park Jimin, nice to meet y-you.” The younger stuttered. He was flustered from how beautiful Yoongi was up close.

“Min Yoongi.” He nodded and held out a hand to shake. He hesitantly took it and felt a light blush on his cheeks when he noticed how much smaller his hands were in his.

When he pulled his hand away he looked around for the table to see where he’d sit now that there were seven people. (Usually, he sat between Jungkook and Hoseok but that’s where Yoongi was sat.) The only spot open was between Jungkook and Yoongi.

“You know, I may be a wolf but I don’t bite.” Yoongi said probably sensing Jimin’s hesitation. With a small smile, show casing tiny teeth in comparison of the stereotype, he patted the empty seat next to him.

Oh god. Oh god was Jimin whipped.

Jimin snapped out of his daze to send a smile back and sit down between the two. Once everyone was settled there was all kinds of conversations. They had learned that Yoongi loved music and was an only child. Even Jungkook, who was a bunny hybrid (and the two species were known to not get along all too well) warmed up to him.

After that, Yoongi sat with them at lunch everyday and started to hangout with them regularly as well. He was officially apart of the group and the rest was history.

The small bell rang signaling someone entering the shop, snapping Jimin out of his thoughts.

“Hello to my favorite herb dealer in the whole world.” Taehyung sung as he walked up to Jimin. He rolled his eyes but smiled fondly either way.

“Taehyung, I already told you. I don’t deal drugs.”

“But you could.”

“No, Taehyung. That’s illegal.”

”You’re no fun Chim.” He pouted, stroking the dew off a leaf of the plant Jimin just watered.

“Anyway, I left the gift this morning.” Jimin mumbled while putting the plants back on the shelf. “You did? That’s great Jimin!” Taehyung jumped up and down like an excited puppy. The boy had a tendency to secrete fairy dust when he got excited much like he did now. Jimin was used to it, the shop was always littered with glitter.

“I’m actually really rethinking this whole thing. It was a stupid idea.” He worried his bottom lip. Taehyung walked around to put his hands on the blond’s shoulders. He pulled Jimin’s bottom lip down to keep him from hurting himself.

”It’s not stupid. It’s really, really cute. I think it’s a great idea.” Taehyung’s smile faltered when he saw Jimin still had a frown on his face.

“What if he doesn’t even like me? That would be so embarrassing.” He whined.

Taehyung sighed and pulled him in for a warm embrace.

”I’m sure he’s into you. You have to be blind to not see it.” He reassured him. “How about you close the shop for a day and we go to the garden? How does that sound?” He asked trying to cheer his best friend up.

“Okay.”

“Wait. Is this just so you can get out of working today?”

“Pffft. No way. Let’s go!”

Taehyung drove them to Hoseok and Namjoon’s garden, where he gets his herbs and all things dealing with plants. It was a very vibrant place. The two fairies were very serious when it came to their work. Hoseok was a light fairy, which helped direct enough sunlight for the plants. Namjoon was a water fairy and made sure not to drown them. To make sure they had a good amount of nutrients from the soil, Taehyung came in. He was a dryad, or a kind of tree fairy. He was able to keep plants healthy and what not, which he uses to help Namjoon and Hoseok at the garden and Jimin with his shop.

“Hey hyungs!” Jimin said giving Hoseok a hug then Namjoon. “What’s up?” Namjoon looked at the two. “Jimmy boy needed to take his mind off things so here we are!” Taehyung showed off his boxy smile.

“Where is Jungkook?” Hoseok asked while messing with a pot of basil. “He has dance after his morning classes.” Taehyung pouted.

Out of the seven, Jungkook was the only one to go to college. He’s supposed to inherit his Father’s company when he graduated so he majors in business and minors in dance.

“Tae, could you please help with this basil? It hasn’t been growing all week.” Hoseok said, inspecting the plant.

Jimin loved watching Taehyung work. It was something he’d never get tired of seeing. He kept his eyes on the plant as Taehyung hovered his hands over it. Within seconds it started sprouting, shiny particles flying around it from Taehyung’s hands.

“All done.”

“Thanks Taehyungie. You’re the best.” The elder pinched his cheek.

He keened at the praise, smiling proudly.

There was a “ding” sound notifying Taehyung of a text message.

“Oh? Yoongi hyung just text me saying he wants the Christmas Party at his house.” He said confused.

Ding.

Taehyung’s eyes widened a bit before going back to normal.

“Cool. At least I don’t have to deal with Namjoon hyung ruining my house.” He stated.

“Hey!” Namjoon whined.

“Don’t attack my boyfriend for being born a clutz.” Hoseok said teasingly.

“I hate all of you. Jin hyung is now my favorite boyfriend.” He huffed. Hoseok only stuck his tongue out at the elder.

Namjoon just rolled his eyes and kissed the pouting Hoseok.

“Where’s my kiss?” A voice called from the door of the greenhouse.

”Jin hyung! Seok has been mean so as of now, you are my favorite boyfriend.” Namjoon huffed, moving to stand behind the elder.

The vampire scoffed and crossed his arms.

“Are you saying Hoseok has been your favorite boyfriend all this time?”

“Uh oh.” Taehyung said, stepping back from the three who were about to bicker.

”W-What?! No! No, of course not! I was just playing hyung.” He said with pleading eyes, stepping in front of Jin to hug him.

“That’s what I thought.” Jin snorted, hugging the water fairy back.

”Don't leave me out!” Hoseok exclaimed. The other two rolled their eyes, pulling him into the hug.

”Well,” Jin said pulling away from his boyfriends,”I have to go get some groceries and stop at the blood bank for some packages, wanna come with me Seok? Since someone likes to play favorites.”

”Sure, let me just grab my things.” Hoseok giggled.

Seokjin and Hoseok kissed a fake hurt Namjoon goodbye and were off on their way.

Jimin watched his hyungs lovingly, the three really worked well together.

“Hyung, how did you know that you loved Jin and Namjoon hyung?” Jimin asked once the other two left.

“Well, it was pretty scary at first, but I just felt it. There was this moment and it just clicked.”

Namjoon and Jin had been dating since high school. Hoseok has came in earlier when he went on a trip with the couple. What changed? They didn’t know but they were all glad for the trio to be happy. It was all that mattered.

Jimin has not experienced that moment yet. He just wants to have someone to make happy and vice versa.

For the rest of the day, they teased one another and just talked. Jimin wouldn’t have it any other way.

Jimin woke up to his phone ringing. He rubbed the sleep from his eyes and looked over to the clock.

5:45 p.m.

He took an accidental three hour nap. He groaned and answered the phone.

As soon as he accepted the call, they started speaking.

“I’ve been calling for ten minutes! What took-“, Jimin yawned loudly,”Oh. Were you asleep?” Yoongi asked.

“Yeah, I was about to get up anyways.”

“Sorry for waking you.” Yoongi apologized sheepishly.

“S’fine.” Jimin slurred.

“I was gonna remind you about hanging out since I got out of work, but if you’re too tired you can sleep.” Yoongi said. “No! It’s fine. I’ll be over in a bit.” He replied, getting up and stretching.

“Are you sure?” Yoongi said unsurely.

“Yeah. I’m certain.”

“Alright you sleepy baby, see you in a while.”

Jimin’s breath hitched at the mention of baby. It didn’t mean anything, right? It was platonic. Just to tease him.

“Y-Yeah. Bye hyung.” He said, glad the elder couldn’t see how red he was.

“Bye Jiminnie.”

He pushed the “end call” button, hearing the line cut off with a click.

Jimin exhaled a breath he didn’t know he was holding. Did Yoongi really just call him baby? Even if it wasn’t necessarily the way he wanted, he took what he could get. He smiled to himself and felt giddy. Squealing, he got up and went to the bathroom to wash up.

Once he was ready he was off to Yoongi’s.

When he got there, he saw the gift was gone, meaning Yoongi had received it.

He sighed and knocked on the wooden door. After a minute or two, the knob turned and revealed Yoongi in a blue sweater.

“Hey hyung.” He smiled, not holding eye contact very long before dropping it to his feet.

“Hey Jimin, come in.” The elder returned the sweet smile, shuffling out of the doorway.

When he walked in, he noticed the living room littered with boxes of what looked like Christmas decorations.

“Uh, I was wondering if you could help set up decorations for the party. I know it’s still a week away but I kind of suck at things like that.” Yoongi laughed, scratching the back of his neck nervously.

“Of course. But first,” Jimin went to Yoongi’s shelf and looked through the cds. Once he found the one he was looking for, he popped it into his stereo and hit play.”We need Christmas music! Nothing helps to set the mood to decorate for Christmas than some Mariah Carey!” His eyes turned into crescents from how big he was smiling.

Yoongi handed him a mug with hot chocolate and marshmallows.

Jimin muttered a small ‘thanks’ and started sifting through the boxes.

First, they put up garlands of holographic tinsel around the room. Then, they put up the Christmas tree in the right corner of the living room.

Yoongi only had purple and silver ornaments so Jimin worked with what he had. While Yoongi used the ladder to tack up lights where the garland was, Jimin made a pattern of the ornaments. Like a candy cane, the two colors twisted around the tree.

Stepping back to admire his work, he realized there was something missing.

Aha!

The star that should be on top was still sitting in its box. But how was Jimin supposed to put it on top if he couldn’t reach?

“Hyung? I need your help.”

“Give me a second.” He said climbing down the ladder.

“C-Can you pick me up to put the star on the tree?” Jimin asked nervously. Yes he knew he could’ve used the ladder but where’s the fun in that?

“Yeah. Come here.” Yoongi waved him over.

“Turn around.”

Jimin shuddered at the order and contact from Yoongi’s hands on his waist. Sometimes, he forgot about him being a hybrid. An alpha at that. So he felt the dominance radiating off him. He also smelt very nice, may he add.

He felt himself as red as a tomato.

Yoongi lifted him up enough to set the star on top. When he was satisfied with the position he tapped Yoongi’s shoulder to let him down.

He set him back on his feet gently. Pulling his hands away from his waist, taking their warmth along with them.

“It’s perfect.”

They sat on the couch, admiring all the decorations and twinkling lights.

Then, the song Sugar Plum Fairy came on.

“Dance?” Jimin held his hand out to Yoongi whose eyes widened a bit.

“Yes! I mean, uh-yeah.” Yoongi tried to act as nonchalant as he could while dying on the inside because of the human embodiment of sunshine that is Park Jimin.

Yoongi took his hand and placed the other on his waist.

“This Okay?” He asked, wanting to be sure of where his hand was.

“Y-Yeah.” Jimin blushing and stuttering was one of the cutest things ever to Yoongi.

What Jimin seemed to not know was that when he got nervous he sometimes had small particles floating around him. They were like small silver stars, and call him cheesy, but it was like their own universe and Jimin was his world.

Jimin noticed the necklace he gave him sitting on his chest. The charms glistening nicely.

“New necklace?” He asked, trying to not be obvious.

“Huh? Oh. Yeah, it was a gift. I don’t know from who though.” Yoongi answered, peering down at it.

“Secret admirer?” Jimin wiggled his eyebrows suggestively.

“I mean, if you put it that way.” He rolled his eyes.

“I am interested in someone at the moment anyway.”

Jimin snapped his head up, not bothering to hide his surprise. “Oh? You never mentioned anything.”

“It’s nothing.” He waved it off.

Jimin felt a little hurt. Not only was Yoongi not telling him who, but he liked someone. Which was very rare for him. He only remembered one time where Yoongi had a crush on someone back in high school.

“Tell meee.” Jimin whined and pouted.

“Soon.” Yoongi clicked his tongue.

Jimin just dropped it, not wanting to push him too far. If he had to wait then he’d wait. He’ll just have to let Yoongi tell him when he’s ready.

They swayed to the soft music for a while longer until Jimin accidentally stepped on Yoongi’s foot, causing him to lose his balance for a second. Jimin grabbed for his arm to help steady him.

The song ended and the music changed to Jingle Bell Rock, a drastic change to what was just on.

The two paused and looked at each other before bursting into a fit of laughter.

“I’m s-sorry.” Jimin said in between giggles. “Gosh, we’re such a mess.” Yoongi giggled. Giggled.

Once they calmed down, Yoongi responded.“You’re fine. But my pink toe isn’t.” He pouted, making his ears fatten against his head for the affect.

Jimin dropped his smile. “Did I really hurt you? I really didn’t mean to. Here let me-“

“I’m just joking. You didn’t hurt me.” He chuckled.

Jimin slapped his chest and huffed. “Meanie.”

“Just for that you have to go out and play in the snow with me.” He crossed his arms.

“Hell no. It’s way too cold.”

“You owe me for helping you decorate. If I didn’t you would have done a shitty job.” He smirked.

Yoongi just scoffed. “Whatever.”

“Let’s go!” Jimin scrunched his face up happily and rushed to put a jacket on.

Yoongi realized something.

Oh shit.

Yoongi was a weak man for a certain person named Park Jimin.

Yoongi packed down the snow to keep the surface smooth. He was about to add the carrot nose when he squeaked at the impact of something hitting his back.

Jimin pelted the poor, unsuspecting man with a snowball. That was the fifth one in the past twenty minutes they had been outside.

“I swear to god Jimin. Do it one more time and I’ll-“

Splat.

Yoongi abandoned the snowman he was creating to go after Jimin.

Sadly, he sometimes forgets that his dear best friend is a witch.

And this is one of those times.

When he turned around, Jimin had at least ten snowballs suspended in the air. The younger had a smirk on his face seeing Yoongi’s eyes go wide. Yoongi just put his arms up to surrender, even flattening his ears and wrapping his tail around himself.

“Jimin ol’ pal. Buddy. My best friend! We don’t have to resort to such violence. Just set the snowballs down nice and easy.”

Jimin snorted. “But that wouldn’t be very fun now would it?” It was a rhetorical question but Yoongi answered anyway.

“No. It wouldn’t you bra-“ Jimin interrupted him.

“Sorry? What were you going to say? I don’t think I heard you right.”

“You brat.” Yoongi growled.

All too fast the snowballs came and hit Yoongi, knocking him off his feet. His fall was broken by his snowman he made moments ago.

“You made me kill Henry!” He whined, looking at the crushed remains of what was once a snowman.

Jimin only laughed and fell to the floor. He clutched his stomach that was starting to ache. Yoongi got to his feet and dusted most of the snow off. Jimin didn’t notice what was happening until an arm kept him from rolling around. He looked up to see Yoongi above him. He felt the spreading blush on his face, which he blamed on the cold.

“You thought that was funny, huh?” He asked. Jimin giggled in response.

“Then you can laugh all you want.”

Yoongi used one hand to hold his wrists above his head and started to tickle him with the other. Soon, Jimin was squirming and writhing around, unable to keep still. He kept on going, ignoring his cries and please to stop.

“H-Hyung!” He gasped for air. ”Okay! Okay! I’m sorry!”

“Good. You better apol-“

Before he could finish, Jimin took the opportunity of him letting his guard down to flip them over so he was on top. Yoongi didn’t even have time to process what just happened until Jimin started tickling his tummy.

The two wrestled around, full of giggles and laughter.

Once they got tired, they stayed lying on the ground.

“I really needed this.” Jimin said, wiping the tears from laughing so hard off his face.

Yoongi looked over to him and smiled. “Me too.”

“Thank you for doing this. I know how I get around the holidays. You always seem to cheer me up so easily. So, thank you, again. Really.” He said while looking up at the sky.

“I’d do anything to see you smile, you know.”

“I love you, hyung. Thank you for being my best friend.” He reaches over and squeezed his hand.

click

“I love you too, Jimin.”

Yoongi felt a little pang in his chest, thinking he’d never mean it in the way he did.

Little did he know.

They laid in silence. One that was calming and comfortable. In this moment they shared, nothing else mattered.

He loved times like this. They had unfiltered conversations and just spoke their mind. They could talk about meaningless things and Yoongi would wouldn’t have it any other way.

With this, he took this chance to pull the tickets out and get it over with.

“Close your eyes and hold out your hand.”

“Okay…” Jimin said sitting up, suspicious of the other.

He shut his eyes and held his hands out. Yoongi took a deep breath as laid the tickets across his palms.

“Open them.”

Jimin looked down and Yoongi could see the realization dawn on him.

“Yoongi. Hyung. You did not.” He said skeptically.

“I did.”

“You’re joking.”

“I’m not joking.”

“You’re lying.”

“I only tell the truth.”

“You’re kidding.”

“Jimin! I’m for real. It’s not a trick. I got us tickets for the festival you’ve been dying to go to.” He laughed.

Jimin got up and tackled him in a hug. Laughing while doing so.

“Thank you so much.” Jimin mumbled. “You’re welcome.” Yoongi whispered into his hair.

They pulled apart and smiled, staring into each other’s eyes.

Yoongi was the first to break eye contact, clearing his throat and looking away.

“We should get inside. Don’t want to get sick before the festival.” Yoongi suggested.

“Yeah. Right.”

So they spent the rest of the evening watching the polar express and the little prince, even though it’s not a Christmas movie. It’s always acceptable according to Jimin.

Happy. It was only thing Yoongi felt at the moment.

Shit. Shit. Shit.

It was Christmas Eve which means in exactly three hours, he was gonna pick up Jimin and go to the festival.

What would he wear? Should he be casual and wear a shirt and jeans? Or should he put on a hoodie and jeans? Was his car even clean enough? So many questions were zooming in his head he was feeling light headed.

Yoongi realized this was an almost date. Right? It wasn’t a date, but it was something that could be considered a date. Like, people would probably see them and think they’re on a date.

He sighed and did the only thing he could do.

He called Hoseok.

“What’s up hyung?”

“I’m having a midlife crisis.” Yoongi groaned into the phone.

Does it have to do with a blonde boy named Park Jimin?”

“Maybe…”

Okay. What do you need?

“What should I wear? I’m taking him to that Christmas festival.”

The one he’s been dying to go to? Wow. Min Yoongi. What happened to the big bad wolf who, and I quote, didn’t need a man because I have Holly?” Hoseok snickered.

“I hate you. I’ll just call Jin hyung instead.”

Okay! I’m just joking. You should dress casually but not too casual.”

“Uhh. Elaborate please.”

“Wear that nice black button up and a pair of ripped jeans.”

“Shoes?”

Hmm...the timbs.”

“Thanks for saving my life seokie.” Really. Yoongi owed him his life.

“Go get your man Hyung!” Hoseok shouted into his ear.

“I’m hanging up now.” He said with his finger hovering over the red phone button.

Bye!”

“Later seokie.”

He didn’t waste time going to his closet to search fo the outfit Hoseok recommended.

Two hours later, he’s finally dressed and ready to go.

He made sure to have the tickets in his wallet and his phone.

He texted Jimin a simple ‘on my way’ to let him know and used the ten minute drive to convince himself he was not gonna die. He’s fine.

He pulled up to the house and got out of the car. Before knocking, he took a deep breath.

After a minute, the door opened and revealed a stunning Jimin. He was dressed in a white shirt with the word ‘Lovers’ on and a jean jacket. His jeans were ripped. A lot.

Wow.

Wow.

“You’re staring, hyung.” Jimin covered his face, breaking Yoongi out of his thoughts.

“Sorry, you j-just look...nice.” Yoongi cleared his throat.

“T-Thanks.” Jimin looked down at his feet.

“Well, we should get going and beat the crowd.” Yoongi said breaking the silence.

“Right. Let’s do that.”

On the drive to the festival grounds, they listened to the music in the radio, humming to the tune of the song.

They got in pretty quickly and without trouble having got there before most people.

“What do you want to do first?” Yoongi asked.

“Can we ride some rides? I want to do that before we eat.”

“Sure. What ride?”

“That one.” Jimin pointed to the small ride with a big drop.

Yoongi swallowed.

“Yeah, okay.” He said, fixing his posture.

Waiting in line, Jimin was practically jumping up and down in excitement. Yoongi could only hear the screams and rolling of the cart as it dropped down the tracks.

“Hyung? Are you okay?” Jimin said looking at his necklace slightly glowing. “You look a bit nervous.”

“I’m fine. Just not a big fan of heights.”

“We don’t have to ride this one, you know?” Jimin said ready to leave the line.

“No! It’s fine. I’m okay with riding it.” Yoongi said pulling Jimin back into line.

It was finally their turn and they climbed into their seats, letting a worker lower the safety bar and check their seatbelts.

The worker checked all the passengers and gave the operator a thumbs up, signaling they were ready.

The ride began to move forward, catching onto the belt to pull it up the slope. Once they reached the top, it slowly rounded a corner and went to the drop.

Right before the drop, Yoongi swore he was gonna pass out.

“Oh shit!”

They went down and Yoongi was screaming at the top of his lungs while Jimin couldn’t stop laughing.

They were tossed with each turn and jostle.

The ride lasted about two minutes, much to Jimin's dismay and Yoongi’s luck.

“Did you die?” Jimin nudged Yoongi with his shoulder. “I think my soul left my body.” He said dryly.

“Alrighty drama queen.” Jimin rolls his eyes.

“Next one!” He said pulling Yoongi towards another.

Yoongi couldn’t bring himself to be afraid of another ride. He was so in awe by Jimin in general. He’d go on a million rides to make him happy.

About six rides and a tired wolf and witch later, they decided to eat.

Yoongi opted for a turkey leg while Jimin got a hotdog.

“I’m so glad we decided to eat after we rode the rides. I’m one hundred percent sure I would have thrown up.” Yoongi said before taking the last bite of his turkey leg.

“Ew.” Jimin scrunched his face in disgust.

“Can we get dessert?” Jimin made puppy eyes.

“Cotton candy?” Yoongi suggested.

“Yes!” Jimin exclaimed, going towards the cart.

They got a large pink and blue one to share. It was sweet and Yoongi could feel a cavity forming.

“I can taste the diabetes.” Yoongi scrunched his nose but continued to eat it anyway.

Jimin laughed and shoved his arm. “What now?”

It was late and it was almost time for the festival to close.

“The Ferris wheel is still on. How about that?” Yoongi asked.“Hyung, it’ll look so pretty up there! I can get so many cute pictures!” Jimin clapped his hands.

Thankfully, walking to the wheel, Yoongi could see the line was surprisingly short considering how many people were there.

Not too long after getting in line, they were climbing into the dangling cart. It stopped a few times on the way to the top, but once they got there it was gorgeous.

The lights were shining and making a glow on Jimin’s face. Yoongi couldn’t stop himself from taking a picture of the breathtaking sight. Jimin’s hair was fluffy and his cheeks were pulled into a big grin.

“Yoongi hyung?” Jimin turned when he heard the shutter of the camera.

“You look beautiful.” Yoongi set down the camera.

“T-Thank you. You look very nice too.” Jimin stuttered, his cheeks sporting a cute blush. Staring into each other’s eyes, Yoongi scooted closer to the blond.

Yoongi’s eyes flickered to jimin’s plump lips to his eyes, licking his own lips.

“Can I kiss you?” Yoongi breathed.

“P-Please.”

Yoongi leaned in, closing the gap between them. Their lips finally meeting.

There wasn’t any fireworks or anything of the sort but Yoongi felt serene. It was nice and calming. Kissing Jimin felt like a breath of fresh air. It was different. A good different.

A few seconds later they pulled away, leaning on each other’s foreheads.

“Wow.” Yoongi stated.

“Wow indeed.” Jimin chuckled.

“I’m guessing by the way you kissed back, you like me too?” Yoongi asked.

“Yeah,” Jimin nodded. “I do.” He felt a weight lifted off his chest after confessing his feelings.

“I think this is the part where I ask you out so,” Yoongi started,”will you, Park Jimin, take me, Min Yoongi, to be your boyfriend?”

“Yes!” Jimin pulled him in for another peck on his lips. “You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting to ask that.” Yoongi said holding his hand.

“I’m glad you did.” He smiled.

“Me too.”

By the time they realized it, they were already on their way down from the top. They stepped off holding hands, making their way to the parking lot.

On the way home, Jimin remembered something.

“By the way, I was the one who gave you that necklace.” Jimin pointed to the charm on his chest.

“I know, I could smell your scent on it.” Yoongi laughed.

“Wolf nose remember?” He said when he saw a confused look on the younger’s face.

“Oh my god. I completely forgot about that.” Jimin placed his head in his hands.

”It’s okay! I really like it.”

“I spelled it to help you with your anxiety. It’s my way of helping you for all the times you’ve helped me.” Jimin squeezes his arm.

They felt at ease, riding off the high of the newly confessed feelings.

Yoongi dropped Jimin off with a kiss goodbye and he couldn’t be happier.

And if anyone asked, Jimin totally did not scream when he got home.

Christmas Day was as amazing as they could have hoped.

They played games and whined when all their friends cooed over their new relationship, happy for the couple.

”Y’all were both so oblivious.” Taehyung rolled his eyes. “Even I noticed.” Jungkook said pointing to himself, his ears flopping with the movement.

Jimin didn’t feel alone anymore, he thought to himself as he played with Yoongi’s hair that night.

He experienced the click. The click Hoseok described a week ago. He understood it now and he couldn’t have asked for a better person other than Min Yoongi to fall in love with.
