It was a lovely, quiet day at UA College. Katsuki was strolling around the quiet hallways, hands in his pockets, one of his earphones plugged in. It was peaceful for a while until someone came running down the hallway, shouting out his name.
“Kacchan!” Only one person called him that. His childhood best friend and crush, Izuku Midoriya.
With a deep sigh, Katsuki turned around a deep scowl on his face. “What, Deku?”
“Please Kacchan! Can you do the whisper challenge with me?” Izuku asked desperately.
Katsuki looked confused for a second. “Why me?” he said frowning. “You have Round Face, Glasses and Shitty Hair Dye. Go ask them!”
Izuku frowned. “I did ask them but they’re all busy.” He sighed and stared out of the window.
Katsuki frowned at this and diverted his eyes away from Deku. “Fine.” He murmured.
Izuku looked at Katsuki as if he grew another head. “Really Kacchan!? Thank you so much!” he said giving Katsuki a pure sunshine smile.
Katsuki blushed and looked away. “Yeah whatever. It’s nothing.” He took a deep breath and looked at Izuku. “So what’s the plan?”
So here Katsuki was, standing outside Izuku’s apartment. He got up early and made sure he looked hot for Izuku’s video. Well not Izuku’s video, Izuku himself. He proceeded to knock on the door and in about 10 seconds, he was greeted with a 1,000 watt grin and Katsuki suddenly felt like this was a bad idea.
“Kacchan!” Izuku smiled. “I’m so glad you’re here! Thanks for helping me!”
Katsuki covered his face as his blush was in view and took a deep breath. “Yeah no sweat Deku. I wanna be famous ya know?”
Izuku laughed at that and it was music to Katsuki’s ears. If only he could make him laugh like that all the time. “You haven’t changed at all, Kacchan.” Izuku said. “I’m glad.”
Katsuki snickered at that. “Of course I’m not gonna change, dumbass.”
‘A cute dumbass.’ He thought in his head.
Katsuki coughed. “So you gonna let me in?”
Izuku blinked and then realised. “Oh shit. I forgot. Come in!” he shouted.
Katsuki just laughed at his reaction. Jeez, he’d fallen so hard for his childhood friend. How on earth was he gonna cope today?
Izuku let Katsuki in. As Katsuki took off his shoes, his mind started to wonder. How on earth did he forget to let him come in?
‘Well Kacchan is pretty distracting.’ Izuku thought. ‘At least I didn’t turn into a tomato around him. How on earth am I gonna be calm today?’
Izuku did not think this through. His friends weren’t helping either.
‘I hate them so much for this.’ He thought. ‘But at least I’ll have some alone time with Kacchan! As long as I don’t get all red in front of him, it should be okay.’
He took a deep breath. ‘I hope the plan works out well.’
Izuku must have been standing there for a while because he noticed a hand waving in front of his face. “Deku, Earth to Deku!” Katsuki called. “Where’s your mind at, dumbass?”
Shit, Izuku had to think of an excuse quickly. “I was uhhhh… planning!” he blurted out. “Yeah I was trying to plan the video out and what to say to you when you have the headphones on!”
Katsuki looked at him for a second. “Okay.”
It was silent for a moment until Katsuki spoke. Izuku loved the sound of Katsuki’s voice.
“So when we doing this shit?” he asked.
Izuku thought for a minute and started to murmur under his breath. “Well we should start after lunch so we can get some energy but its fine if you wanna do it now! I was just thinking that I made too much food for myself anyway…”
Katsuki laughed quietly. “Ah Deku. Really haven’t changed, have ya?” he said. “Stop mumbling, baka.”
Izuku went red from embarrassment. “So should we go to the living room?” he asked.
Katsuki gave one of his rare smiles. “I’d like that, Deku.”
Izuku has definitely died inside.
Katsuki couldn’t help feeling happy that he was alone with him. He’d be lying if he didn’t say he wasn’t excited for this.
As Izuku told him to sit down on the cream, leather sofa, he observed the room. The room in all was simple yet cozy. A large bookshelf was on one side of the wall, it was probably filled with comic books. A modern TV was on a white stand in front of the glass table that sat before him. Izuku put two posters of All Might up on another side of the wall.
Katsuki chuckled. ‘After all these years, he still likes All Might huh?’ he thought. ‘Well he’s always been a nerd.’
Suddenly, Izuku walked in with a plate and a bowl of food and he placed it on the glass table. Katsuki looked at his plate to find his favourite food ebi chiri (or ebi chili) and immediately mouth watered at the sight.
“Itadakimasu.” Both of them said at the same time.
They immediately dug into their food. Katsuki was surprised at how good Izuku was at cooking.
“This is so good!” Katsuki said. “You’re a fucking legend at cooking!”
Izuku unexpectedly blushed at that. If only he could do that all the time. “Thanks Kacchan!” and he smiled his 100,000 watt grin.
Now it was Katsuki’s turn to blush. “Whatever Deku.”
They both ate in silence for a while until Katsuki broke the silence.
“I see you’re still obsessed with All Might, Deku.” He said, smirking.
Izuku rubbed his neck and giggled sheepishly. “Yep! Still am! All Might never gets old for me.”
Katsuki snickered at that. “Still a nerd, huh?”
Izuku gave a smirk at that. “Of course.”
Katsuki’s smirk turned into a straight line. “Should we get to work then, Deku?”
He watched as Izuku put a determined face on. “Yes.” And Izuku left the room to get his stuff.
He was so ready for this.
Izuku was so not ready for this. He was freaking out about the plan he was going to pull during this video. He took a deep breath in and let it out. He repeated a few times and he finally found himself calming down.
'I can do this.' Izuku thought. 'I can do this.' He kept on repeating the same phrase in his head and soon enough he was convinced. Grabbing his camera and laptop, he headed out of his bedroom and his confidence level boosted up. He can do this.
Katsuki watched as Izuku placed his stuff on the table and set it up. He turned on the camera and faced it towards him and took his place next to Katsuki.
"Okay Kacchan you ready?" Izuku asked.
Katsuki smirked. "Ready as I'll ever be."
Izuku turned the camera on and they begun the video.
Let the whisper challenge commence.
"Hey guys!" Izuku greeted. "It's me Deku here and today I'll be doing something you guys highly requested which was the whisper challenge!"
Katsuki smirked. "You're very enthusiastic Deku."
Izuku fake pouted. "Whatever Kacchan." He said and looked at the camera once again. "This guy next to me is my childhood best friend known as Bakugou Katsuki. Me and him will be doing it together so let's give a warm welcome to Katsuki!"
"Hey. I'm Bakugou." Katsuki introduced himself.
Katsuki watched as Izuku gave him a sunshine smile. How the hell does he look so fucking perfect!?
"Without further ado, let us start the whisper challenge!" Izuku continued. "So I'm sure most of you know how it goes but I'll still explain it anyway! So one of us will have these headphones on and the other person has to say something to them while the music plays. The person with headphones on has to guess what they're saying."
Katsuki smiled. "Deku, let's get started now, okay?"
Izuku was taken away by his smile before returning it. "Sure Kacchan. You wear the headphones first."
Izuku grabbed the headphones and plugged it into his phone.Katsuki stiffened and blushed as he placed the headphones over Katsuki's head.
Katsuki took hold of Izuku's phone and chose a song.
"Can you hear me?" Izuku asked.
Katsuki blinked. "What?"
Izuku grinned. "Perfect." He said.
Izuku gave a thumbs up and Katsuki nodded. "I am an angry cauliflower head."
Katsuki looked confused, so Izuku repeated it again.
Izuku looks Katsuki straight into his eyes. "I am..."
"I am..." Katsuki repeated and Izuku nodded.
"An angry..." Izuku continued.
"A happy?" Katsuki asked and Izuku shook his head.
"No!" Izuku laughed. "An angry!"
"An angry?" Katsuki asked.
"Yes!" Izuku nodded excitedly. "Cauliflower head."
"Cauliflower head?" Katsuki asked. "I am an angry cauliflower head?" Really?"
Izuku laughed at his reaction."Yes, really!"
Katsuki shoved the headphones and the phone to Izuku. "Your turn, Deku." He smirked. "Be prepared."
Izuku fake gulped and put the headphones over his ears. He grabbed the phone and chose a song. He had amazing hearing so it was fine.
Katsuki gave a thumbs up. "I am a stupid nerd."
Izuku laughed. "I'm not a stupid nerd."
Katsuki looked at him as if he grew another head. "How the fuc-udge did you get that in the first go?" He asked.
"Oh Kacchan." Izuku said calmly. "I just have amazing hearing!"
"Damn right you do." Katsuki replied.
Izuku laughed and turned himself towards the camera. “So the first round is done! The second round will start now!” he said, slightly giggling. Izuku picks up the headphones and passes them to Katsuki. ”Here it’s your turn now.”
Katsuki grumpily placed the headphones on his head and chose a song. ‘How the fuck did he get it before me?’ he thought. ‘I can’t stay grumpy though, he is Deku after all.’
Izuku gave a thumbs up and Katsuki nodded. ‘Let round two commence.’ Katsuki thought.
“I think…” Izuku began.
“I think?” Katsuki repeated and Izuku nodded.
Izuku started again. “That Deku…”
Katsuki looked confused for a second. “I think that Deku?”
“Uh-huh!” Izuku giggled. “Is cute!”
Katsuki blushed furiously. “I think that Deku is cute?”
Izuku broke into a fit of laughter. “Oh my god, I thought I’d never get you to say that!”
Katsuki scoffed, trying to hide the fact he was blushing. “Whatever nerd. It’s my turn now.”
Katsuki took off his headphones and was about to pass it to Izuku when he had an idea. He leaned forward and placed the headphones on Izuku’s ears. By the time he leaned back he saw Izuku fiercely blushing red.
‘Hah.’ Katsuki thought. ‘Serves him right. Now he knows how it felt when he done it to me. Which was a good feeling anyway.’
Izuku fumbled for the phone and decided instead of choosing another song he’d finish listening to the one Katsuki was listening to. Katsuki gave a thumbs up and Izuku nodded.
“I can’t...” Katsuki began.
“I can’t…” Izuku repeated and Katsuki gave a slight nod.
“Live without Kacchan.” Katsuki said.
“Live without katsudon?” Izuku asked.
Katsuki shook his head. “No. Kacchan!”
Izuku realised what he was saying. “Oh! I can’t live without Kacchan!”
“Aw Deku!” Katsuki said smugly.
“Oh shut up you!” Izuku said while taking off his headphones and throwing them to Katsuki. He took a deep breath in and let it out. “Okay this is the last round!” he said. “Are you ready Kacchan?”
Katsuki snickered at that. “Of fucking course.”
Izuku was nervous. He was going to finish the plan he started. He gave a thumbs up to Katsuki and Katsuki replied with a light nod. ‘If he doesn’t hear this I swear…’ Izuku thought.
Izuku took a deep breath, a blush covering his entire face. “Will you go out with me!?” he shouted.
Katsuki blinked at him and threw the headphones off his head. “Did you just... ask me out!?” Katsuki shouted, his blush filling out his face.
Izuku replied with a slight bob of his head. “Yeah…” he said nervously. “It’s alright if you don’t want to though, it’s just that I had enough of keeping my feelings in and I decided to do something about it…”
Katsuki pulled Izuku by the shirt and kissed him on the lips passionately. They held on for a few seconds before Katsuki broke it. “Yes I will.” He said, his voice hoarse from the kiss. Katsuki grabbed the headphones and shoved it towards Izuku. "Now put them on."
Izuku was confused. "Uhh... Okay." Izuku said as he was putting a song on. Katsuki gave a thumbs up and Izuku nodded.
"I've liked you since we were kids." Katsuki said.
Now it was Izuku's turn to blush. "Really?" He started. "Same here."
Katsuki smiled. "Well at least I'm yours."
Izuku laughed. "Yeah and I'm yours."
Katsuki scooted closer to his new boyfriend and put his arm around him. Izuku pulled him in and they kissed once again.
After all these years, they were finally together.
