   Unsummoned Destiny and Unbidden Grief--Revisiting the TRF Tragedy from John's POV. An Interpretation of key scenes from The Reichenbach Fall (originally published 9/5/2015 in Fanfiction site.)

   "Blood is thicker than water" except when it comes to Sherlock Holmes. When "BLUD" failed the detective, John Watson chose to soldier up, face their enemy together, and summon the courage to protect his friend. Tragically he was too late to stop Sherlock's fall from the ledge of St. Bart's. In the aftermath, John struggled through shock and grief and self-blame. He had been so tragically wrong about Sherlock's intention, he wondered if he really knew his unknowable friend Sherlock Holmes at all.

   But in this examination of those scenes from TRF, we realize that John was not wrong about Sherlock having another plan, it just wasn't the plan he could ever have imagined.
