Chapter 1: First impressions

Chapter Text

The first time Yoongi met Jungkook he didn’t like him very much. He didn’t hate him, god forbid, but there wasn’t really anything about the younger that made him want to get to know him better.

It was a frat party on campus that Hoseok dragged him to. Yoongi tried to avoid going to campus as much as possible anyway (unless he really had to attend a certain lecture), so he was already not feeling it.
Even before the door to the dorm house opened, they were greeted by the thrumming bass of some shitty pop song that Yoongi could basically feel slapping him in the face periodically. He scrunched his face up in distaste and looked at his friends beaming face. Sighing he complied Hoseok’s vice grip on his wrist pulling him into the crowded hallway.

An hour later Yoongi found himself on the couch of the livingroom area, on the verge of tipsy. Glass of whiskey in hand, he scanned the crowd with sharp eyes. God, he hated frat parties.
Hoseok had fucked off to god knows where 20 minutes after their arrival, just to leave Yoongi standing in the kitchen awkwardly by himself, until he spotted an empty slot on the couch that he could hide in.
Yoongi was gonna find Hoseok, give him a good few smacks (for abandoning him) and then make him drive them home.

Just as he was about to give up his search for the only familiar face in the crowd of people, he spotted Hoseok’s bright, toothy smile. Their eyes met, and while Yoongi narrowed his, his friend’s lit up, and he walked over, followed by two boys.

“Yo, grumpyface!”

“Watch it”, Yoongi scowled up at his friend, but that only seemed to encourage him, his grin growing wider.
“I want to introduce you to my friends.”, he turned to the two boys. Both were taller than him, and younger too. Hoseok tugged the first one (the even taller of the two) forward, and the boy grinned widely.
“This is Yugyeom. I told you about him, remember? From the dance studio? He’s the one that won the competition you didn’t come to watch.”
Yoongi nodded in acknowledgment, choosing to ignore the side remark.
“And that’s his roommate Jungkook. Who still needs some encouragement, but will start at the studio soon, too.”

The second boy pursed his lips glancing at Hoseok warily, before looking back at the boy on the sofa. He was cute, Yoongi decided. Lean, but Yoongi could see his muscles through his black skinny jeans. He was wearing a white oversized tshirt, that was hanging off his frame so much that it revealed his pretty collarbones. Yoongi could just barely make out the smooth black hair that was tucked under the boy’s beanie.
He nodded again, and the boy smiled at him, eyes crinkling up, as if his nod was the most affectionate thing he’s ever witnessed.

Pretty smile, he thought and brushed his bangs out of his face averting his eyes.
He felt a push at his shoulder and then Hoseok was tucked into his side, burrowing his face into the crook of his neck.

“I know you hate it here but can we stay a tiny bit longer please? We haven’t been out since summer, and it’s decent here”, Hoseok said to Yoongi’s adamsapple.

The green haired boy glanced down at his friend, who took the cue looking up at him with pleading eyes. Teeth digging into his pouting lips and all.

The elder sighed. “Yah fine. You have two hours.”

Hoseok grinned. “Thanks Boo!”
He leaned up pressing a sloppy kiss to his friends cheek and lept up, diving back into the sea of people.

Grumbling Yoongi wiped his cheek. Hoseok’s two friends were dancing now. The roommate kid was flopping his arms wildly, and that was when Yoongi decided that he was too energetic for him. Cute, but way too bubbly. Not of interest.
