“Think he’s the one, kiddo?” Gojo asks, uncharacteristically serious, as he peers across the edges of his glasses as if he read Megumi's thoughts. His arms are crossed over his chest as Itadori throws Tsumiki across the ice for the final time. She sticks her landing perfectly, and in an instance Itadori is at her side again, and once again synchronized they glide across the ice.
They stick a triple twist lift.
“Yeah,” Megumi hums. “Probably is.”

Yuuji makes a horrid sound from the back of his throat. And Megumi, because he’s not good like Yuuji or Tsumiki, because he bears resemblance to a man who once upon a time inserted himself into their rundown home and has been growing roots ever since, twists the knife deeper, and says, “Do you think you don’t mean as much to me as I mean to you?”
It’s desperate. It’s a plea. Ultimately, there’s nothing more to be said than: “You know, don’t you?”

“How can you be so sure of that?” Satoru asks, defiantly, unwilling to admit to the nightmares of it becoming true that haunt him too.
“Every son becomes their father,” Hajime says and he sounds so sure of it, entirely dismissive of any other possibility. Satoru would rather die than become his father. “He's cursed by his blood bonds. And they will curse you too if you don't take care of it now.”

“Let me take you for a walk?” Yuuji changes the subject.
Megumi watches him from his green eyes, the color of the forest after rain—enough for Yuuji to get lost in them if he allowed himself to. They haven’t even known each other for that long, if one were to really think about it, but there is almost no one Yuuji knows more intimately than him. At least it’s what he likes to think. Maybe Megumu perceives it differently but it is why Yuuji knows that Megumi is thinking about saying no just for the sake of it—to see if Yuuji is going to push and plead with him.
(or: you’re desperately in love with a boy you know loves you back, but the world is still ending, and it’s his birthday.)

Why does George think they need to make awkward small talk on this random sidewalk? It’s very George of him, in fact one of the many George-Russell-isms that annoy Max. And actually, Max can answer that question: it’s because someone might observe them and George, above anything, is a performer who will die if he’s not performing.

“Levi,” and it’s almost nothing. It would be so easy to pretend not to have heard. Levi thinks maybe that is what Erwin wants him to do. But he turns anyway, sees that Erwin has followed him, partially, suspended between Levi and his desk.
Levi might be sick. The light of the lamp is making molten gold out of Erwin’s hair. He is so beautiful it is hateful. He is breathing like he has been running.
“There is another – I need to.” He pauses, clears his throat. Tries again. “There is something else I need to discuss with you. Tell you.” His eyes are so wide. Levi is shaking now.
“It can wait,” he whispers, like it’s a warning. It is a warning.
