“Apple cider is...” Koryuu pondered the question for a moment.
“...not too sweet, and sort of spicy and...best when warm.” He tried to explain the drink to the person seated across from him.
“Hmm...A lot like me, isn't it?” Hyuuga smiled his trademark smile at the other, receiving a faint blush at his question.
“I suppose it is. Do you want to try some?” Koryuu inquired, changing the subject and already heading to the pantry before receiving a reply.
“I do. It's cold and I'm best when warm, so keep me warm please.” Hyuuga followed the taller man into the kitchen, curious as to the process of making cider, but also legitimately cold. He watched as his boyfriend retrieved a variety of spices from the pantry; then proceeded to dig through the fridge for the apple juice he knew was in there somewhere. He just had it out this morning! Hyuuga made a face at the cold air emanating from the fridge and moved to the far side of the kitchen, perching himself casually atop the counter. Koryuu returned to the stove with the large plastic bottle of juice and the multitude of spices, setting them all down-in adding order-on the counter before starting the heat on a small sauce pan on the stove.
The two sat in comfortable silence as Koryuu made the cider, adding the spices to a granule-level of measuring perfection and finally pouring the cider very evenly into the two mugs on the counter. Hyuuga gratefully accepted his cup, choosing to hold it to his chest for warmth as a priority over drinking it straight away.
“Let's move to the living room, it's warmer in there.” Koryuu mentioned as he put the last spice bottle back in its place, taking notice of the small shivers coming from his boyfriend. Hyuuga nodded and followed him into the living room, the heater near the unlit fireplace drawing his attention immediately. He sat inches away from the heater, cider in hand and a content look on his face.
“You remind me of a cat sometimes.” Koryuu smiled as he sat down next to him.
“Oh? I do get that a lot, but what's your reasoning?” He tilted his head curiously.
“Well, you're finicky about your personal space, you like to sit on top of tall places, you get cold easily...you're a bit mysterious at times. Among other things.” Koryuu calmly sipped his drink. Hyuuga smiled and looked down at his cider.
“Most people include the fact I can be moody.” He smiled sadly at the drink.
“You're not...moody, honestly, you just space out and like to think about things more deeply than some.” Koryuu reassured him. Hyuuga giggled, repositioning himself to lean against his boyfriend.
“You're sweet, Koryuun.” He took a small, cautious sip of the cider.
“Ah. It's good.” He stated flatly, taking another drink. Koryuu blushed at the nickname and the compliment, not sure which one was making him blush more. They stayed like that for a while, idly chatting and making bad puns at each other before Hyuuga eventually dozed off in his boyfriend's lap, comfortable and warm. Koryuu watched the sleeping form with a content smile, eventually falling asleep himself, curled around Hyuuga and both of them sleeping happily.
