Headcanon #1: Mai is slightly afraid of thunderstorms. Not enough to make her hide under the covers or in a closet, but flinch and feel unease. For angsty reasons, she could be afraid of thunderstorms due to an association with one of her parent's death?
Headcanon #2: Naru makes sure that the flashlight batteries are regularly checked and charged. He probably learned this habit from Martin during his early ghost hunting days. That, or he learned the hard way with dead flashlights and power outages.
