Afterwards, Bakugou would remember betrayal tasting like gunpowder. Burning anger, metallic pain, smoldering sadness. The look on Midoriya’s face, the manic grin he wore as he punched Bakugou into oblivion.
Bakugou shouted but was cut off as Midoriya attacked again. After that there was no time to talk. When Bakugou wasn’t trying to land hits of his own, he was blocking Midoriya’s raw strength.
Bakugou set off his grenades in a final attempt to stop his former partner’s assault. But when the smoke cleared, Midoriya still stood smiling.
He knocked out the blonde with a small flick to his forehead.
