Summary
As it turns out, it’s far from the last time they see each other.
It doesn’t end there – it doesn’t end at all, really – and, one day, Caesar will be sharing a paper-bagged bottle of whiskey with Joseph, shoulder-to-shoulder behind the university gym at 2 AM, laughing about how much he hated his guts and Joseph will laugh too, like it’s the funniest thing he’s ever heard.
One day, Caesar will be so grateful for Joseph’s persistence and child-like enjoyment in pissing him off that his chest will ache, as impossible as it is to comprehend in the beginning of his sophomore year.
