Work Text:
While Kirishima would never venture to call himself among the more observant of his classmates, he liked to think that he wasn’t entirely oblivious either. So while he wasn’t as perceptive as someone like Midoriya it was obvious that there was something going on between Bakugou and Todoroki that the former was trying to keep hidden.
As his best bro it was unacceptable that Bakugou was trying to hide his new friendship from everyone. It’s not like it was surprising that the two of them were growing closer considering the amount of time they were spending together for provisional classes. And maybe it was weird that Bakugou was being so private and defensive about a friendship but Bakugou was a weird guy so Kirishima didn’t think much of it.
Or he tried not to until some incriminating evidence caught his eye.
It was possible that Bakugou did own a turtleneck and he just hadn’t seen it before, but that seemed unlikely. Anyone who looked at him could tell it was too small, fabric pulled tight across his chest and ready to burst at the seems. Coupled with the fact that Kirishima knew that Todoroki owned an identical turtleneck and it was clear that something was going on between the two.
Unwilling to pass up the opportunity, Kirishima was sure to approach Bakugou in the kitchen. The glare he received probably should have convinced him to abort, but he wanted the truth.
“So why are you wearing Todoroki’s sweater?” It was an innocent enough question, contradicted by his jagged grin.
“Fuck off, Shitty-hair.” Bakugou’s scowl was undermined by the pink tint of his ears. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“C’mon bro,” Kirishima prodded, leaning against the counter, “I’m not dumb enough to think that’s yours. I’m honestly kind of hurt that you didn’t tell me about your totally manly love for Todoroki, but I’m will to overlook it since you suck at the whole emotions thing.”
“I don’t suck at anything, dipshit!” Bakugou retaliated, shoving his palm into Kirishima’s face while it sparked threateningly.
“Oh, so you make Todoroki do the sucking then?”
Kirishima wasn’t exactly sure when Todoroki walked into the kitchen, only becoming aware when he spoke up. “Oh, there you are Katsuki.”
“Katsuki, huh?” Kirishima took delight in the way his face flushed before he found himself the focus of explosions and swears.
Midoriya liked to pride himself on his patience, especially when it came to his friends, but it was getting ridiculous. Everyone with half a brain cell could tell that Todoroki and Kaachan were dating but the two still acted as if it was the world’s best kept secret.
Even now, with Todoroki wearing a black shirt with a skull on the front that was clearly Kaachan’s. There was even a noticeable hickey on his collarbone.
Uraraka shared a long-suffering look with him before she sighed and turned to Todoroki. “So Todoroki, did you have a good date with Bakugou last night?”
Todoroki looked up from his breakfast, confusion evident in the slight furrow of his brow. “I didn’t go on a date with Katsuki last night?”
There was pain in the smile that Uraraka forced onto her face, “Do you honestly think we don’t know you’re dating Bakugou?”
“I thought I told you guys already? If i didn’t then I apologize for not informing you.”
Midoriya groaned, rubbing his temple as he watched his best friend sort through his thoughts. “Then why would you bother denying that you went on a date? You’re even wearing Kaachan’s shirt.”
“We spent time together last night but it wasn’t really a date.” Todoroki clarified, finishing his rice. “I actually need to find Katsuki. We were going to go to his home for the weekend since his mother wants to meet me.”
There was a lot in that statement that Midoriya wanted to address, but instead he just resigned himself. “Make sure to tell them if you’re not good with spicy food.”
His best friend could be exasperating sometimes.
Shinsou preferred to change out of his hero costume once most of his classmates had already vacated the changing rooms. It wasn’t that he had issues changing in front of his classmates, he just enjoyed the quiet.
As much as he enjoyed the hero course, it seemed like everyone was loud and overly social.
So while he took his time, changing back into his casual clothes he didn’t expect to hear Bakugou attempting to be quiet while he yelled at someone. “You can’t fucking wear that.”
He heard an exasperated huff before a new voice answered while footsteps approached. “Well maybe I wouldn’t be wearing it if someone hadn’t used my shirt to clean up.”
“Go fucking shirtless for all I care then.” Bakugou argued back as the two of them entered the changing room. He was holding his hero uniform sans the tanktop which was hanging loosely on Todoroki. Todoroki’s own shirt was crumpled up in his hand.
“You’ll get it back so stop complaining.” Todoroki looked bored when he answered, giving Shinsou a nod when he noticed him. “Hello Shinsou.”
“Hey.” He must have looked ready to say more because Bakugou shoved his hero outfit into his locked before slamming it shut with an unnecessary amount of force.
“If you tell anyone about this I’ll fucking kill you.” He threatened, Todoroki smiling fondly as if he wasn’t spewing threats.
“I could really care less what you two get up to in your private time.” Shinsou answered, eyes as dead as he felt inside. “I’ll be going now.”
The hero course was definitely interesting.
Even with Shouto living in the dorms, he still made an effort to meet up with Fuyumi. This was how she found herself sitting in the patio area of a small cafe while she waited for her little brother. She had already ordered for both of them and chose to bide her time with a book that was set aside when she saw Shouto approaching.
To her surprise, he wasn’t alone. A blond that she recognized as one of his classmates was walking with him. The two of them seemed to be arguing but both were smiling, comfortable despite being in each other’s personal space.
Fuyumi definitely had some questions for her little brother. Especially when the blond rolled his eyes before tugging him into a quick kiss and departing. It looked like he was wearing one of Shouto’s sweaters as well.
“I hope you weren’t waiting long.” Shouto spoke as he sat down across from her.
“Not at all.” Fuyumi smiled, looking him over. It had been rare to see Shouto look so relaxed but it seemed like living in the dorms was making that the new norm. “So, when were you going to tell me that you have a boyfriend?”
Shouto had the decency to look embarrassed, taking a sip of his tea to avoid fidgeting. “I planned to tell you sooner. It just slipped my mind.”
“Well the two of you seem to be quite comfortable. He was even wearing your sweater.” She teased gently, pushing a parfait towards him.
“He never grabs a sweater even when he knows it’s going to be cold and then insists on taking mine.” Even if the words sounded like complaint, Fuyumi could hear the fondness seeping into her brother’s voice. “He always insists that I don’t need one because of my quirk.”
“I’m glad you’re happy, Shouto. I’d love to formally meet him.” She encouraged, reaching across the table to squeeze Shouto’s hand.
Shouto smiled, eyes becoming a little glassy as he squeezed back and looked in her eyes. “I think I love him, Nee-san.”
