Diluc want to tell Kaeya that he forgives him, that he was wrong, that he still cares about him and he wishes he could call him a brother but he didn't know if it was welcome anymore. He wanted to tell him he loved him still, he wanted to beg for forgiveness. But Diluc knew the words would never leave his mouth, not the right words. He always managed to say the wrong thing, look the wrong way, and things would blow up again, it was better to keep his mouth shut.
That didn't mean Kaeya wouldn't understand anyway, Diluc just needed a little help. And a piano.
