Work Text:

“How do you always manage to look so captivating?”

Izuku regretted the words almost the moment they left his mouth.

Colored lights flashed and radiated in the dark common room of Class A’s dorm building and music pounded from speakers to fill the room. Their classmates mingled around the room, several having taken over the dancefloor from early on in the night Izuku had no idea how Ashido, Yaoyorozu, Sero, and Kaminari had been able to throw a party like this with less than twenty-four hours, but he knew better than to question. Izuku had immediately had a drink thrust in his hand upon entering the room and had been told to drink it and not ask what Shoji had added to it.

A few hours later and whatever Kaminari kept handing Izuku was buzzing through veins, a pleasant hum. Alcohol had made his tongue lighter, took the filter he barely kept ahold of around Katsuki and threw it out the window. Izuku felt his face warm as blush stained his cheeks and Katsuki turned to look at him, his face devoid of expression.

Izuku took a moment before Katsuki decided that it was finally time to murder Izuku to admire the blond’s features. He had always been devastatingly handsome with his sharp features and even sharper grin. Izuku wasn’t sure when he’d realized that Katsuki’s grin made made him weak in the knees and his heart pound against his rib cage like it was trying to escape. It seemed liked it had always been that way, as though Izuku had met Katsuki at four years old and handed him his heart before Izuku had known what that had meant.

“What was that?” Katsuki asked, drawing Izuku’s attention back to him. The light’s danced around them, casting shadows over features that Izuku knew as well as his own.

“I-Uh-” Izuku fumbled for words, alcohol now making his tongue heavy and clumsy.

“Deku.”

That was it, just the name Katsuki had given him on the blond’s lips, and Izuku opened like a book.

“I mean you are- captivating that is. How do you do it? Were you just born with this ability to like draw people into your circle? I guess so, you’ve always been strong and charming, we all followed you everywhere when we were kids. But now you’re handsome too and you make everything look so good and it’s not fair. It’s not fair because I’ll never be able to measure up and I just-”

“Deku.”

There was his name again, as though it was the only thing Katsuki could say now, the only thing he could remember.

“What?” Izuku asked, tongue darting out to wet lips gone dry from too many drinks or the nerves that now mixed with the alcohol in his bloodstream.

“You think I’m captivating?”

“I- Well...” Izuku stammered, tripping over words like he had once tripped over his sneakers.

“It’s a yes or no question,” Katsuki snapped, eyes like hot coals trained on Izuku’s.

“Yes,” Izuku breathed. He wasn’t even sure Katsuki could hear the answer over the thrumming bass that spilled into the room from the speakers. He wasn’t sure if he wanted Katsuki to have heard or not.

The room spun as hands wrapped around his wrists like bands and Katsuki hauled him into his lap. There wasn’t time to recover before Katsuki brought their lips together in a crash of motion that would always be Katsuki. Izuku gasped, hands finding Katsuki’s shirt and fisting within the folds, trying to find an anchor as the world began to spin. His eyes closed as he lost himself in the kiss, the warmth of Katsuki’s body against his. Katsuki nipped at Izuku’s lower lip, the shocks of pain chased away as Katsuki’s tongue met Izuku’s.

Izuku shivered as Katsuki pulled back and focused on dragging air into lungs he hadn’t realized were screaming for oxygen. He could still taste Katsuki on his tongue, the harsh bite of some strong alcohol mixing with the unique notes of Katsuki. Izuku couldn’t have even tried to put them into words, was incapable of describing Katsuki in anything other than… Mine.

Someone behind Izuku whistled long and loud. Izuku thought it might have been Kirishima or Kaminari.

“Fuck off,” Katsuki snarled at whoever had made the noise. He tugged Izuku up and off the couch before Izuku had a chance to look or react, one hand still wrapped around Izuku’s wrist. His eyes met Izuku’s again, a longing and vulnerability in them Izuku had never expected to see combined with a hunger he had seen often. He had never considered that the look had been directed towards him though...

“Come with me,” Katsuki said, tugging Izuku a little closer. “Please.”

“Sure,” Izuku swallowed, his throat dry and heart light enough to fly. “Anywhere.”
