Work Text:

Hoseok wakes up extra early that morning with a single objective in mind:

It’s time to get his kisses.

The blankets are tossed to the side as he springs up from bed. He’s wearing his favorite pair of pajama bottoms decorated with deer and snowflakes, but he still shivers from the chill in the room. A quick peek through the window tells him why; thick layers of beautiful white decorates the city below. It must have snowed all night long.

His first target rests only a few feet away in the bed adjacent to his own. Hoseok approaches the lump of human who has become one with the blankets, and throws all caution to the wind. He pounces onto the bed with glee, his high-pitched giggling resonating throughout the bedroom.

“Wake up, wake up! It’s Christmas!” he chants.

It takes a bit of digging for Hoseok to find the face of his target buried beneath the mountain of blankets. When he does find said face, it begins to make a groaning sound that indicates its displeasure of being aroused. Despite that displeasure, Hoseok smiles down at him with joy.

“Why me…?” Jimin all but cries. It’s clear now more than ever that he’s regretting his choice of roommate. “Can’t you find one of the others to harass first thing in the morning?”

“Nope, sorry. You were the first one in sight, and the first one on my list.” At Jimin’s resulting frown, Hoseok pokes him in one of his puffed out cheeks. “C’mon, give me a kiss. I’ll leave you alone after that.”

Jimin seems a little more awake after hearing that statement. He ponders the offer for just a moment.

“Promise?”

Hoseok eagerly nods. In an instant, the frown on Jimin’s sleepy face curves into a pleased grin before he quickly schools his expression. He shuts his eyes and puckers his pretty lips, waiting.

It’s a sweet kiss that warms Hoseok deep within his belly. Jimin’s lips are soft and plump, making them quite enjoyable against his own thinner ones. When he pulls away a moment later, their mouths make a subtle smacking sound that brings a blush to his cheeks.

Jimin keeps his eyes shut, yawning as he nuzzles into the pillow again. He asks, “Who’s next on your list, then?”

Hoseok answers with a smile, “Taehyungie.”

He finds Taehyung in his own room next door, still sound asleep. In contrast to how he’d awakened Jimin, Hoseok forgoes the pouncing in favor of sitting at the edge of the bed. He uses a hand to rake through the longer hair at the back of Taehyung’s neck. He has to be gentler with this target, knowing that he’ll easily get his kisses that way.

“Taehyung?” Hoseok waits until he gets a response that comes in the form of a sleepy moan. He giggles, says, “Merry Christmas, pup. Can I have a kiss?”

Without even opening his eyes, Taehyung immediately puckers his lips and uses them to make smooching noises. It brings yet another laugh out of Hoseok, whose eyes light up with excitement as he leans down to initiate the kiss. He pecks the other boy’s lips multiple times, followed by gentle kisses pressed to his cheeks and nose. When Hoseok tries to pull away at last, satisfied, two arms suddenly trap him in a tight embrace. He gets pulled down to the mattress, Taehyung refusing to let him go.

“Cuddle me,” Taehyung mumbles, nuzzling the top of Hoseok’s warm head. “S’cold, hyung.”

“That’s because it’s snowing,” says Hoseok. He tries hard not to give in despite how lovely and comforting it is, when Taehyung begins carding his fingers through Hoseok’s hair. “But if you let me go, I promise that I’ll make hot cocoa for everyone. How does that sound?”

Taehyung considers the offer with a hum, his gentle fingers stilling for just a moment. Then, he shakes his head.

“Nah, I’d much rather cuddle you instead.”

Tae,” Hoseok whines. Though he tries to scold the younger, he fails when he begins to laugh as Taehyung tickles his waist. “Cut it out, seriously, or… or I’m putting y-you on kissing probation. Don’t think that I won’t.”

Before either of them can test that threat, Hoseok is saved when Yeontan awakens in his doggy bed and begins to fuss, wanting his dad’s attention. Only then does Hoseok manage to escape Taehyung’s evil clutches. That is, if evil has now become a synonym for irresistible.

Out in the hallway, Hoseok comes across his next target. Namjoon drags his feet along the floor every step of the way, yawning and rubbing at his tired eyes. He doesn’t even notice Hoseok standing at the opposite end until his name is called. His head turns in slow motion to face the source, just in time for him to catch Hoseok when he skips across the short distance and throws his arms around Namjoon’s neck.

“Morning, sleepyhead.” Hoseok nuzzles the side of the taller boy’s neck, lips curving into a pleasant grin at the feeling of Namjoon’s long arms wrapping around his waist. He pulls back just enough to meet his eyes. “Kiss?”

Since Namjoon’s sleepy brain is still attempting to catch up with the rest of his body, he simply stares back at Hoseok with a lazy smile of his own that displays his pretty dimples. Then, he snorts and says:

“You’re really needy. You know that?”

Hoseok’s bottom lip juts out in a pout.

“And that’s a bad thing?”

“It’s a cute thing,” Namjoon corrects.

His arms tighten protectively around Hoseok’s waist as their lips come together. Eyes fluttering shut, Hoseok hums with pleasure as he leans into the kiss, soaking in as much warmth and love as he can get. He doesn’t realize that he’s leaning up on his tippy toes until they begin to ache from the stretch.

He likes it, though. He likes it a lot.

A shiver creeps up his spine as Namjoon eventually releases him. Hoseok’s tongue dashes out to swipe along the other’s bottom lip, savoring the taste. It pleases him to hear the tiny chuckle that escapes from Namjoon. He knows that it tickles, knows that Namjoon likes it when it tickles.

Hoseok asks, “Is everyone else awake?”

Namjoon shrugs. “Saw Jungkook in the bathroom, but something smells good in the kitchen, so that’s where I’m heading. You?”

“I’ll be there in a minute,” Hoseok promises, his eyes widening in excitement at the thought of catching his next target. “I need to make a detour, first.”

Just as Namjoon had said, he finds the youngest in the nearby bathroom, feet planted in front of the sink as he brushes his teeth at lightning speed. He must be ecstatic to finally open his Christmas gifts this morning, and it’s the type of excitement that’s contagious, just like a child’s. For now, Hoseok has no issue waltzing into the bathroom to receive his kiss.

Jungkook meets the eyes of his reflection in the mirror. He says… something that Hoseok can’t possibly comprehend with all of that toothpaste in his mouth. Even though it’s kind of gross, it’s mostly downright adorable. After properly rinsing his mouth, he tries again.

“Are they awake yet? I want to open my presents already.”

“I can tell,” Hoseok teases. Out of habit, his hand comes up to ruffle the other boy’s messy bed hair, his grin widening when Jungkook whines. “I think that Jimin might’ve gone back to sleep and there’s no way that Yoongi is up yet, but everyone else is good. Anyway, give me my Christmas kiss now.”

He knows as soon as he demands it that he’s about to be teased. He sees it in the way that Jungkook’s brows rise on his forehead, his big eyes twinkling in the fluorescent bathroom lights above them. Then, one side of his mouth slowly curves into a teasing smirk that’s become all too familiar over the years.

“What if I don’t want to?” asks Jungkook. He’s always been one to push and pull, testing the limits of others just for fun.

Today, however, Hoseok is determined to win.

“That’s fine by me,” he says, shrugging. He faces the door again as if preparing to leave. “Then, I guess that I don’t want to give you your present, either.”

The plan works instantaneously. Hoseok can hardly take two steps towards the exit before Jungkook takes him by the wrist and pulls him back in. It was almost too easy to trick him.

“I’m joking, hyung, don’t leave.” He says it with pouty eyes and a needy tone. How can Hoseok possibly resist? “I’ll give you two kisses if you help me wake the others. Deal?”

Hoseok doesn't need to consider the offer, his head already nodding along to the younger boy’s words. He just really needs his kisses.

“Yeah, okay, I can work with that.”

They seal the deal with a kiss that steals Hoseok’s breath away. Jungkook’s lips taste as minty and fresh as the toothpaste he had used. Hoseok likes it more than he cares to admit. While the deal had called for two kisses only, they don’t stop until Jungkook playfully squeezes his ass through his pajama bottoms, Hoseok responding with a surprised squeak as the teasing brat begins to laugh at him.

How dare he use Hoseok’s own technique against him?

As he leaves the bathroom, Hoseok teases back, “You’re not getting any presents from me this year, mister naughty list.”

He ignores the whines directed at him from behind as he makes his way to the kitchen. The delicious aroma hits him full force as soon as he enters the room, finding Seokjin working on the Christmas breakfast that he’d promised them all the night before. Namjoon sits on a stool at the breakfast bar, sipping from a mug of coffee as he sleepily mumbles about the weather.

Since the latter has already been approached that morning, Hoseok marches right over to the eldest friend and clings to him from behind like a koala bear. Seokjin seems only slightly startled by the arms that suddenly appear at his waist, but he happily accepts the affection.

“I thought you were gonna wait for me before starting breakfast,” Hoseok mumbles into one of the other’s broad shoulders. His mouth waters at the sight of the food. “I was supposed to help you, remember?”

“I know, but it goes much faster if I do all the work,” Seokjin explains, his hands diligently working as he speaks. He adds in a teasing tone, “Besides, I heard that you’ve been busy getting all of your Christmas kisses.”

Hoseok giggles into the back of his shirt.

“You’ve heard correctly.”

Wanting to tease him back, Hoseok opens his mouth and gently bites down on Seokjin’s shoulder through his silky pajama shirt. He notes the way that the elder stiffens a bit from the sensation, before gradually relaxing in Hoseok’s arms.

Mission accomplished.

“I suppose that you want one from me, then?” Seokjin guesses, trying his best to keep his voice steady despite the warm mouth against him.

Hoseok releases the shoulder from his mouth in order to answer clearly.

“That is also correct,” he admits. He quickly tacks on a please for good measure.

Thankfully, he doesn’t have to wait any longer before getting what he wants. Seokjin takes a moment to turn off the burner, then twists around in Hoseok’s clingy arms to face him properly. He can’t help smiling when two big, warm hands cup both of his cheeks between them, just before Seokjin finally kisses him square on the lips. His lips taste of something sweet that Hoseok can’t quite put a name to, he just knows that he can’t get enough of it.

Hoseok knows that he’s spoiled; perhaps even beyond spoiled from all that they give him, but he takes all that he can get. This includes the gentle kisses that Seokjin presses to his chin, nose, and forehead as well.

“Thank you,” he murmurs afterwards, suddenly feeling a tad bashful. It’s hard not to, with the way that Seokjin looks at him with such fondness in his eyes. “I have one more target left, but I’ll come back to help if you need it.”

Seokjin’s laugh is loud and cheerful as he reaches up to smooth Hoseok’s hair back from his forehead. He plants one more kiss in that spot before letting him go and turning back around to focus on their meal.

“Alright, then. Good luck with that one.”

“Take him a cup of coffee,” Namjoon suggests. Only then does Hoseok recall that, oh right, he’s still in the room. “He’ll be less cranky if you make him an offering, first.”

Hoseok nods in agreement as he begins to prepare the offering. “Good idea.”

The journey to Yoongi’s cave is a slow one, due to Hoseok being overly ambitious and filling the mug with too much coffee. He’s sure that Yoongi will appreciate his efforts, anyway.

What Hoseok doesn’t expect is to find the bedroom empty. He knocks at least three times before deciding to enter the room anyway, only to find it both cold and completely bare. It doesn’t look as if anyone occupied it the night before, since the bed is still perfectly made.

The question now is: where the hell is Yoongi?

There’s only one other place that he can be at this hour. Well, technically two other places, but Hoseok knows that the other bathrooms are empty, having walked past them on the way to Yoongi’s bedroom. For now, he leaves the room the way that he came and prepares to travel downstairs.

He walks a little faster this time, still careful not to spill the liquid while also not truly caring if he does. The floor is made of shiny wood, he can always mop it up later. His mind is much more focused on reaching his destination, and it’s the only thing that he focuses on until he’s standing in front of the correct door.

The room leads into a small, homemade studio that the seven of them share. Though it’s not equipped with the same high-tech machines that they use in their bigger, individual studios, it’s still nice to have when they want to work on something without leaving the comfort of their home.

This is exactly where he finds Yoongi, still fast asleep with his arms resting on the desk and his head using them as a pillow. Hoseok almost starts to shiver; the room is so much colder than the ones upstairs. If he had known that Yoongi was going to work on something the night before Christmas, of all times, he wouldn’t have allowed him to sleep down here.

Or, at the very least, he would have brought him a thick blanket and a warm beverage.

The coffee in his hand will hopefully be enough to do the job. Hoseok approaches the desk as silently as a mouse. Accidentally startling Yoongi will almost certainly result in crankiness, so he’s gentle when he uses his free hand to shake the other by the shoulder.

“Hyung, wake up. It’s Christmas,” he tries, and doesn’t get a response. “I brought you coffee.”

This time, he gets a response. Yoongi sniffles a few times before his tired eyes flutter open at last. Hoseok unconsciously begins to smile; he looks so adorable like this, his hair sticking up in various directions and his face puffy with sleep. He looks downright kissable. It’s getting increasingly difficult for Hoseok to contain himself.

“You shouldn’t sleep down here, y’know. It’s bad for your back and it’s colder than an icy hell right now.” He watches and waits as Yoongi sits up and stretches out his aching arms and spine. Maybe Hoseok will offer him a massage, later on. “Everyone else should be up by now, I think, and hyung is making breakfast. We might open gifts first, since Jungkook is being really impatient.”

“He’s always impatient,” Yoongi mumbles, his voice still groggy with sleep. Hoseok smiles even wider. He hands the mug of coffee over when Yoongi eagerly reaches for it, and then he awaits the praise that comes a moment later when Yoongi says, “S’good. Thank you.”

Hoseok continues to stand there and watch as Yoongi downs half of the coffee in just a few gulps, seemingly not minding how hot that it is. As he waits to receive his compensation, his right hand grips the back of the chair that Yoongi sits in, his left leg starting to bounce. It’s all that he can do to keep himself from blurting out, kiss me, kiss me, please kiss me.

He suffers only a few more seconds before the other finally catches on to the situation.

“Let me guess,” Yoongi begins, eyes trained on Hoseok’s face now. The smile that he wears is one of pure amusement. “Christmas kisses, right?”

Hoseok doesn’t even try to contain the sigh of relief that escapes from his lungs.

He teases, “Wow, hyung. I thought you’d never ask.”

Yoongi properly laughs at him, then. Hoseok doesn’t mind it. He can’t possibly mind it, now that he’s finally, finally getting what he wants.

“C’mere, then.”

With that, Hoseok finds himself suddenly being pulled into Yoongi’s lap. Not that he minds this either, especially considering how warm the other’s body is from up so close. They’re pressed flush together now, Yoongi’s arms finding a home around Hoseok’s waist while Hoseok grips the back of the chair to keep from sliding off. It’s definitely an awkward position, since chairs are clearly made for the weight and space of one person, not two. But in spite of that, he knows that Yoongi won’t let him fall.

No, Yoongi will never let him fall.

He does continue to be a tease, though. He stares at Hoseok and Hoseok stares back at him, waiting to kissed and cherished and loved until he can’t possibly wait any longer. And so he doesn’t care that he whimpers, doesn’t care that he rocks impatient in Yoongi’s lap, doesn’t care that he whines:

Kiss me already.

Hoseok cares about nothing else until he feels it at last, Yoongi’s soft lips that taste like coffee and warms him from head to toe. His soft lips that arouses the butterflies in Hoseok’s belly. His soft, sweet lips that have engraved themselves in Hoseok’s memories.

It’s everything that he could ask for.
