Work Text:
"Your freckles are like little stars across your cheeks," Yoongi beamed to Hoseok, his voice hushed yet full of excitement.
When Hoseok was a kid he had spent a lot of time outside leading to his sun-kissed skin to have pretty, little freckles sprinkled across his cheeks, shoulders and back. As a student of astronomy who occasionally dabbled in astrology, Yoongi often marvelled over the pretty marks, occasionally tracing his finger and connecting the dots. He especially loved the ones across Hoseok's cheeks, he liked being close to his boyfriend's pretty face and whispering to him how much he loved all the little marks.
Hoseok just chuckled at his boyfriend's hushed excitement. Yoongi laid across his chest, moving a little closer to inspect his skin. God, his boyfriend was just so pretty. Yoongi pressed a soft kiss to his lips.
"Can I connect the dots of your freckles with a pen?" Yoongi asked. "It's for science."
"Of course, Yoongi."
Yoongi beamed as he got up to get a pen. He chose a black one from the desk of their shared dorm and returned, straddling Hoseok's chest and leaning forward so he was almost nose to nose with him. He clicked the pen, his small, pink tongue peeking out past with lips.
He tested it out on his hand to get the ink moving and then placed one more kiss to Hoseok's lips, murmuring a soft "I love you". Hoseok murmured it back as Yoongi slowly began to connect his freckles together. Hoseok could feel the gentle pen tip trail over his left cheek.
"If I connect this one, this one, this one and... these two... You get Cancer the Crab!" Yoongi beamed.
"That didn't feel like a crab..." Hoseok commented in a joking manner.
"Whelp, I didn't name them so, anyways. Ok, then this one... Hmm..." Yoongi chewed the tip of the pen absentmindedly.
Taking it out of his mouth, he pressed the tip down on one freckle, planning out his next move. He dragged the tip across Hoseok's left cheek to his nose, whispering to himself "this one". Yoongi picked up the pace, going back to Hoseok's cheek and connecting a few dots. Hoseok wasn't able to keep up with his movements, even if Yoongi voiced them out load with soft little "this one"'s.
"Okay, so... It's a little difficult to do it on your nose but it's Canis Major," Yoongi informed.
"The dog one, right?" Hoseok asked.
"Yeah!" Yoongi smiled his gummy smile.
He loved when his boyfriend remembered all the constellations he told him, in turn, Hoseok found it endearing when Yoongi remembered the dance steps he taught him. Yoongi was a little stumbly, but he was getting better, and Hoseok often mixed a few constellations up. But both loved each other very much and tried their bests.
"You don't have enough freckles on the sides of your head, I can't make constellations there..." Yoongi pouted, "However, I'm gonna do one on your forehead."
Yoongi pushed Hoseok's bangs to the side. He had seen his forehead so many times, yet something about it today filled him with an overwhelming sense of love. Hoseok's everything was just so pretty, his lips, his freckles, his eyes, his fluffy hair, his bubbly and childish personality, his everything. Yoongi felt his cheeks flare up a bit, he was just so taken aback by his boyfriend's beauty. His favourite thing about Hoseok, though, was that he belonged to Yoongi and Yoongi belonged to him. They were a couple, a wonderful couple.
"This one is gonna be the swan, Cygnus," Yoongi stated before going to work.
He connected a few more dots before sitting back and admiring his work. Sure, it wasn't looking absolutely magical and wonderful, it was just a pen drawing on Hoseok's face, but he enjoyed it nonetheless. Yoongi brushed back Hoseok's bangs over his forehead, enjoying the feeling of his soft brown hair. It felt much healthier compared to Yoongi's blond dyed hair.
"Can you turn around? I wanna do some on your shoulders and back," Yoongi asked with pleading eyes.
"Anything for you, sweet pea."
Yoongi loved the nickname "sweet pea". It made him feel small and cute, he liked that. He liked being called that while held in Hoseok's arms and being softly kissed.
He may be seen as cold and unsociable to others, but for Hoseok he was shy, cute, and unsure of himself. Yoongi wanted to be the best for him and tried his hardest. He did have social anxiety and depression which made the relationship a little bumpy, but things worked out and Hoseok was always willing to wait for him and give constant reassurance.
After Hoseok turned over, Yoongi began to doodle several other constellations across his back and shoulders. Quizzing him on the names and giving little "uh huh"'s and "nuh-uh"'s in return as he focused. He ended up doodling a few non-constellations too. He ended up with a doodle of a dog and one of a cat with the constellations of Aquila the Eagle, Aquarius, Leo the Lion, Lyra the Harp and Pisces the Fish. Of course, Yoongi tried to draw their zodiac signs, Aquarius and Pisces, next to each other.
"This one isn't a constellation, but I like sailboats and it works," Yoongi declared, "Next one is gonna be a sun."
"Don't forget sunglasses."
"Yup."
Hoseok chuckled, his boyfriend could be an absolute endearing dork. Sometimes he sworn Yoongi acted more childish than he did. No one would believe him though after all Yoongi was like this only around Hoseok. Admittedly, he liked that, he liked being the only one seeing this cute side of Yoongi. He felt special.
"Okay, flip over on your chest. When we showered yesterday I could have sworn I could've connected the Big Dipper on you." Yoongi clicked the pen.
"Isn't that the spoon thingy?" Hoseok asked.
"Yeah," he confirmed. "Flip over quick, we gotta shower soon and I wanna admire them for a bit before we wash them off."
Hoseok flipped over, Yoongi now straddling his chest. He set right off to work, remembering the exact freckles he knew could form the Big Dipper. It tickled a bit as Yoongi dragged the pen tip across the top of Hoseok's chest and he tried not to squirm to disrupt his work.
"And..." Yoongi started to draw something suspicious feeling, "This is a dick."
"Hey!" Hoseok sat up, nose to nose with Yoongi.
"I love you!" Yoongi giggled, kissing his nose.
"I love you too, but don't draw dicks on me!"
"Ah, whatever, let's go get in the shower," he said.
Clicking the pen and putting it away, Yoongi went back to take Hoseok by the hand and lead him to the bathroom. There he undressed with, admittedly, Hoseok's help. It wasn't his fault though! Having been wearing one of Hoseok's sweaters that was already big on him, left Yoongi melting in a warm pool of sweater. Not that he minded, it smelled of Hoseok and he liked that.
The couple got into the shower, letting the hot water wash over them. Hoseok wetting Yoongi's hair and putting his favourite strawberry scented shampoo in his hair. Yoongi leaned into his touch, enjoying the feeling of security he got when he was with him. Letting Hoseok wash the soap out of his hair he felt it a bit for himself, disappointed with how dead it felt. He was regretting dying it, even if it looked cute. Hoseok worked in conditioner next and rinsed it out, too.
"Ah, sweet pea, we should get you some special shampoo and conditioner or something," Hoseok suggested, also feeling the brittleness of his hair.
"I was thinking the same thing," he agreed, "My turn to wash you now."
Yoongi worked Hoseok's shampoo into his hair. Unlike Yoongi's childish fruit scent, he used more adult-like shampoos. When Yoongi worked the soap into his hair, he could see some of Cygnus the Swan on Hoseok's forehead wash away. Yoongi watched as some of the other ink constellations began to wash away already too, he pouted childishly. Rubbing at Cygnus with his thumb, it washed away completely. He let out a sad sigh as he put conditioner into Hoseok's hair.
"Don't be sad, you can draw them again another time," Hoseok comforted.
"But those will wash away too!" Yoongi complained.
"Draw them again and again, sweet pea, I don't mind."
Hoseok gave him a kiss on his forehead, soft and sweet Yoongi's favourite type of kisses. The rest of the shower consisted of the couple trying to clean the pen off Hoseok's skin. With the water becoming cold and the two clean, Hoseok turned the water off and got out with Yoongi. Wrapping both of them in towels, he blowdried his own and his boyfriend's hair, extra careful of the bleach damage.
"Hobi, can I wear another one of your sweaters? I like them," Yoongi asked as the two got dressed for bed.
"Of course," Hoseok handed him one.
With both boys dressed and sleepy with dried hair and warm clothes, they cuddled into Hoseok's bed for the night. Yoongi with a soft faint smiled as he buried himself into Hoseok's chest and breathed in his scent.
"Night, Hobi."
"Goodnight, Yoons."
