   “Oh my god, go away,” Michael groaned, curling up even tighter and shifting to face the other side of the car.

   “I can’t,” Jeremy stated. He was so sure of it, but couldn’t come up with a reason why. Jeremy paused, sniffing the air briefly.

   “Jeremy.” His voice was breathy and soft, almost beckoning. Jeremy wanted Michael to keep using that voice. His hand came up to try the handle again, but the car door was still locked.
