Summary
The King lives in the Golden Oasis. A holy land where gold is as commonplace as any other stone. They call him a God and he hides himself within the heavens, apathetic to the cries of his people below. As punishment for his narcissism, all the kingdoms were unanimous in that he had to die. Why wage war when men can die of simpler means? Famine. As the Oasis withers away, they continue their fighting, merciless to put one of their own on the throne.
All Seokjin wanted to do was survive; instead he is made the Court Fool and to bear witness to the horrors of the Royal Court. Realms are razed in their vicious conflicts. Then from behind the throne, rises a salvation.
