Work Text:
Jimin all but moonwalked his way into the library. He had finished all his exams and just had to return his last borrowed textbook before he was free to enjoy the short break. The promise of late nights and even later mornings called his name and he wanted nothing more than to fall into their sweet embrace.
Jimin slid his book into the return slot and turned on his heel. He was almost out the door when a familiar mop of brown hair caught his eye from across the room. He slowed his steps. A smile teased the corner of Jimin’s lips as he watched as Jungkook type away furiously on his laptop, a concentrated frown set deep in his brow. Not once did Jungkook glance down at the keys as he continued to pound on the keyboard with precise fingers, his eyes scanning the screen as he worked. If Jimin hadn’t been certain that Jungkook was cramming for his final coding assignments, he would have been impressed by the speed in which he worked. He was staring rather creepily from across the library, wanting nothing more than to skip over and drape his arms around his neck, poke him and tease him until Jungkook couldn’t ignore him any longer. Jimin watched him for another moment. The thought was tempting, but then a little voice in the back of his head reminded him of his first year at university and how stressful it had been trying to maintain his grades. Instead of disturbing him like he so desperately wanted to, Jimin decided to visit the café nearby and bring Jungkook back a heavily caffeinated drink in support of his plight.
Not long later, Jimin carried a hot cup of takeaway coffee in each hand; an Americano for himself and a sickly-sweet caramel cappuccino for Jungkook. The automatic doors opened for him and Jimin tried to look as inconspicuous as possible while passing all the ‘no food or drink past this point’ signs while carrying two cups of coffee. Jungkook was still typing when Jimin spotted him again, but his work pace had slowed. He nibbled on his bottom lip as his wide eyes darted over the screen, reviewing his fervent work. Jimin’s stomach swooped low and he had to tear his eyes away from Jungkook’s pouting profile to stop himself from breaking out into a stupid grin. Clearing his throat, Jimin raised his head again and started towards Jungkook, pushing the feeling way down until it was nothing but a niggling at the bottom of his ribs. Jimin was a few metres away when Jungkook snapped his laptop shut suddenly and got to his feet. He didn’t look up or see Jimin as he abandoned his laptop on the table and wandered further into the library in search of, what Jimin could only assume was, a book.
Jimin stood there awkwardly for a moment, gaze following Jungkook with coffees in hand, unsure if he should announce his presence or if he should just wait for Jungkook to come back. As Jimin’s eyes flicked over towards Jungkook’s closed laptop, he decided on the latter. He figured maybe a little encouraging note in the margin of Jungkook’s work would spur him on or he could be a second set of eyes to help weed out any mistakes that may have slipped Jungkook’s attention. Taking Jungkook’s place in the chair, he carefully placed the cups down on the table and opened the lid of the laptop. Jimin knew the password to Jungkook’s account and entered it without a second thought. He knew the password to most of Jungkook’s things and he would be lying if he said Jungkook’s trust in him with such knowledge didn’t make him at least a little giddy. Jimin would never dream of abusing Jungkook’s trust. It had taken them almost a year to work up the level of comfort they displayed around each other. If only Jimin had known that all that time spent building up their relationship together would come crashing down around him in seconds, he never would have opened that laptop.
Cock was the first work that registered in Jimin’s brain as his eyes scanned the document. Confused as to why Jungkook was writing such crude language in his assignment, Jimin read on further, searching for an explanation. The head of Steve’s cock sat heavily against Tony’s tongue as he took him further into his mouth.
Jimin’s eyes darted away quickly, averting his gaze as his brain tried (and failed) to process the information it had just received. He knew his eyes were wide in surprise and he pressed his lips together tightly, schooling his expression into something that wasn’t complete shock. Jimin’s heartrate had picked up and he wasn’t sure if it was from the content of the document or if it was because Jungkook had written it… had he written it? Had Jungkook noticed him coming over and this was his idea of a prank? Was his mind playing tricks on him? Jimin risked another glance at the screen.
Steve’s moans were delicious as Tony swallowed around him, bobbing his mouth down further and wrapping his fingers around the base of his throbbing cock.
Jimin’s throat tightened. He knew he had to stop reading; close the laptop and pretend like he had no idea Jungkook spent his time writing fanfiction, smutty slash fanfiction. He knew he should, but he couldn’t tear his eyes away. Jimin’s eyes darted over the words, the filth on the page causing him to choke and he had to remind himself to breathe. The more he read, the more apparent it became that the characters of Jungkook’s erotica were Tony Stark and Steve Rodgers. Of all the fandoms in the world it made sense for Jungkook to base his fantasies in the marvel universe as he had always had a slight obsession with Iron Man. But, Jimin couldn’t help but wonder if every time Jungkook had dragged him into his dorm for a Marvel movie marathon, if he spent the whole time concocting these erogenous stories in his mind. The thought made something stir low in his stomach.
Tony felt Steve lurch under him, a moan pulled from the back of his throat as he licked along his perineum, nearing closer to his entrance.
“Hey hyung.”
Jimin jolted violently as he spun in the chair, too wrapped up in Jungkook’s story to have heard the younger man approach. He pushed his hands down into his lap to cover the tightening in his pants, his arousal caused by Jungkook’s words. His heart was in his throat and his eyes were wide as he stared up at Jungkook’s sweet, smiling face.
“What are you doing here?” Jungkook inquired.
Jimin’s mouth opened and closed as if he was trying to say something but no words were coming out, “I…um…I bo-bought… uh…”
Jimin trailed off when Jungkook’s eyes flickered down to the table. He saw his laptop sitting open, word document displayed on the screen. Panic struck his features and he dove past Jimin to slam the lid shut. He snatched the laptop off the table and hugged it close to his chest.
“Jungkook,” Jimin had to clear his throat to continue, “did you… did you write that?”
“No!” Jungkook snapped, cheeks burning bright red and looking mortified, “I mean, yes. It’s for… a… creative writing course I’m doing… over the break–how much did you read?” Jungkook snapped himself out of his own lie, his embarrassment visibly turning into anger.
“Enough…” Jimin admitted quietly, looking down.
“You can’t just go through people’s things, Jimin!” Jungkook’s voice echoed in the quiet library and it earned them a few curious glances.
“I know, I’m sorry. I didn’t know…” Jungkook look like he was about to explode and Jimin tried to word his sentence as carefully as possible, “I didn’t know that’s what you were doing. I thought you were writing an assignment. I was just trying to help. I’m sorry.”
Jungkook sighed exasperatedly and Jimin winced as if the action had physically pained him.
“I’ve… I’ve got to go.” Jungkook announced.
Jimin tried not to take it personally when Jungkook reached around him to get his stuff, his efforts not to accidently brush against Jimin’s frozen form, painfully obvious.
“Jungkook,” Jimin’s voice sounded desperate even to his own ears and he watched as Jungkook shut his eyes momentarily, sighing once more before fleeing with his backpack slung over his shoulder.
Jimin buried his face in his hands, “fuck.”
~*~
Jimin stood outside Jungkook’s apartment door, holding a plastic bag of convenience store ramen and a bottle of banana milk limply by his side. He sighed through his nose as he stared at the door and momentarily considered placing the bag on the floor, knocking and making a run for it; a classic ding dong ditch. Jungkook obviously didn’t want to see him. He had been ignoring all of Jimin’s attempts to contact him for the past two days, but Jimin had had enough. With an air of determination, Jimin knocked sharply on the door, his grip tightening around the plastic bag. His resolve instantly fled the moment he heard movement from inside the apartment and he wondered if it was too late to run. As if to answer his question, the door swung open and Jungkook stood in its place.
“Hi!” Jimin greeted, hoping his voice didn’t sound as shaky as it felt.
Panic flashed over Jungkook’s face, but he didn’t say anything as he continued to stare. The awkward silence stretched on between them until Jimin suddenly raised the plastic bag, letting it swing in front of both of their faces.
“I bought ramen,” He said with cheeriness that sounded forced even to his own ears, “and banana milk.”
At that, Jungkook’s eyes flickered to the bag. If there was anything Jimin knew, it was the way to Jungkook’s heart and by the way Jungkook pressed his lips together before stepping aside to let Jimin through he was relieved that he hadn’t completely lost his touch. Jimin stepped around Jungkook, toeing off his shoes in the entry before walking further into the tiny apartment. Jungkook closed the door behind him and Jimin placed the plastic bag on the small space of the kitchen counter. He turned around, jumping slightly when he noticed Jungkook right behind him, nibbling nervously at his bottom lip.
“So-“
“Can we just forget what happened the other day?” Jungkook cut him off, his voice urgent.
Jimin was silent for a moment, watching as Jungkook looked everywhere else except at him.
“Okay.” He agreed quietly, silently disappointed. Jungkook visibly relaxed and sadness shot through Jimin’s chest, “You know, it’s nothing to be embarrassed about. I’ll still be your friend no matter what, you know that, right?”
Jungkook made a sound that was dangerously close to a scoff and Jimin would be lying if he said it didn’t pain him to hear, “Yeah.”
It was silent again and Jimin hated seeing the way Jungkook had shut himself off, his eyes cast to the ground and his fingers worrying at a pulled thread from his shirt. He had to say something; banish Jungkook’s embarrassment and replace it with laughter. Even if Jungkook didn’t want to, maybe the best thing to do was talk about it, get it out in the open, deal with it to, hopefully, get over it. Jimin cleared his throat, gaining Jungkook’s attention. He crossed his arms over his chest and leant as nonchalantly as he could against the counter,
“So… Iron man, huh?”
“Oh my god!” Jungkook groaned, rolling his eyes, “You said you would forget about it.”
“I’m trying!” Jimin lied, but he couldn’t help the smile that made its way into his words, “It’s not my fault you were so… descriptive.”
Jungkook groaned again and Jimin let a small giggle bubble inside his chest, keeping the mood light as Jungkook’s cheeks flushed crimson and he buried his face in his hands.
“How does it end?” Jimin asked.
“What?” Jungkook peaked through his fingers.
“Your story… fanfiction… whatever. I was so rudely interrupted and I never got to finish it.”
“I…” Jungkook lowered his hands, his embarrassment replaced with confusion, “I don’t know yet.”
“Oh, well, when you’re done you should send it to me… or something.” Jimin shrugged.
Jungkook’s mouth dropped open as if he was hit with a sudden realisation, “Oh, my god.”
“What?”
“Oh, my god!” Jungkook repeated, louder this time, “You liked it!” Jimin opened his mouth to defend himself, but Jungkook threw back his head and cackled, actually cackled. Jimin was so surprised by the sound he was momentarily stunned.
“What are you, a witch?”
Jungkook ignored Jimin’s feeble insult and instead stepped closer, devilish smile still evident on his boyish features.
“I can’t believe it.” Jungkook grinned.
“Shut up. It wasn’t that good.” Jimin crossed his arms tighter over his chest, looking away as Jungkook erupted in a new fit of laughter.
“But you want me to send you more. I’m sure you’ll read it when you’re home alone with some lotion and a box of tissues.” Jungkook made a vulgar gesture with his hand and Jimin rolled his eyes.
“I can’t believe you’re giving me shit for liking it, when you’re the one that wrote it!”
Jungkook ignored him and continued in a singsong voice, sounding absolutely delighted, “You like reading about gay sex!”
“I’d much rather be having it.”
Jungkook’s singing cut off instantly and Jimin’s eyes snapped up. He hadn’t meant to say it. Jungkook had gotten under his skin and he wasn’t thinking properly. Excuses tripped over themselves as they fought to tumble out of Jimin’s mouth, but the only sound he made was a panicked squeak.
“Really?” Jungkook asked finally, eyes wide.
Jimin hadn’t meant to come out to Jungkook like this. He didn’t even know what he was meant to me coming out as. He wasn’t straight, he knew that for sure, but he didn’t seem to fit into any of the other neat little boxes either. They had discovered so much about each other over the last few days, what was one more thing?
“I mean… yeah.” Jimin admitted quietly.
Jungkook was silent for what felt like an eternity and Jimin could feel him staring at him but Jimin refused to look up and meet his gaze. Finally, Jungkook walked forward and placed his hand on Jimin’s shoulder, his fingers trailing down his bicep until they rested at his elbow.
“Would you like to hear about a different story I’m writing.” Jungkook asked softly.
Jimin looked up, “Is it about Captain America and Iron man?”
Jungkook laughed through his nose and Jimin cracked his own smile when Jungkook shook his head, “No, these are some original characters.”
“Okay.”
“Alright, so there’s this boy who is in his first year of university and he’s painfully shy and kind of awkward.” Immediately Jimin realised Jungkook was talking about himself, but he doesn’t mention it. “He left all his friends back in his home town and doesn’t really know how to make any new ones. Then, one day, he meets this boy who’s cleaver and funny and so, so beautiful. They get along really well and in the span of a few weeks it feels like they’ve known each other their whole lives.” Jimin smiled gently, looking up to see Jungkook already watching him, his finger’s trailing lazily up and down Jimin’s arm, “Inevitably, the boy develops a crush on the beautiful boy, but he could never tell him.”
Jimin’s heart stutters, “He knows it’s useless because the beautiful boy could never like him the way he wanted him to. Being around the beautiful boy becomes more and more difficult because the boys crush only grows; every time he sees him he wants to stroke his hair and hold his hand and kiss his lips.” Jimin’s heart his thudding now and he’s sure Jungkook can hear it, too, but his eyes never leave Jimin’s, “The beautiful boy fills him with so much emotion he feels like he’s going to explode. He takes to the internet because it holds all the answers and looks up how to combat his feelings and somewhere suggests he write his feelings down and so, he did. He soon realised, however, that he was writing not only how he felt, but how he wished it could be, all the things he wanted to do to the beautiful boy. Take him apart slowly and put him back together.” Jungkook reached up, with his hand that wasn’t stroking Jimin’s arm, to brush some hair away from Jimin’s forehead, eyes following the movement tenderly.
“Now, my character, he’s no fool. He was smart enough not to write his and the beautiful boy’s actual names in his musings because what if the beautiful boy ever found out? But, one day, just that happened. The beautiful boy found the pages he didn’t know were written for him. He read them. When the boy found out, he was so frightened, he didn’t want to lose the beautiful boy. But then, the beautiful boy showed up at his home and confessed that he, too, liked boys and just maybe he stood a chance.” Jungkook’s fingers settled at Jimin’s elbow.
“Do they end up together?” Jimin asked quietly and Jungkook’s eyes slowly drift back down to his.
“I hope so.”
“Me, too.” Jimin admitted, his gaze dropping own to Jungkook’s lips.
It seemed to be all the invitation Jungkook needed. With one step forward and the gentle hand on the back of his head guiding Jimin closer, Jungkook closed the gap between them. Jimin gripped at Jungkook’s waist, anchoring himself to reality as Jungkook’s lips pressed so dreamily against his own. He could tell Jungkook was holding back, keeping the kisses sweet and chaste, as if he was worried he’d frighten Jimin away if he did too much too soon. It was delightful in the beginning, but Jimin found himself growing impatient; he had waited for this moment just as long as Jungkook had. His hand left Jungkook’s waist and curled around his neck, pulling him further down as he changed the angle of the kiss and licked edgily at the seam of Jungkook’s lips. Without hesitation, Jungkook opened his mouth and Jimin’s tongue slipped inside. Jungkook dragged him closer by the hand splayed across the small of Jimin’s back, sucking on his tongue as Jimin took fistfuls of his hair to keep him close. Jimin gasped into his mouth as Jungkook’s hand slid further down his back and over the swell of his arse.
He could feel Jungkook smirk against his lips and he tugged on Jungkook’s hair a little harder than necessary, relishing the way he hissed against his lips. Jungkook pulled Jimin harder against himself by his arse, lifting him higher until he was forced onto his tip-toes.
“Just pick me up, why don’t you.” Jimin giggled into his mouth.
“If I didn’t think you would punch me for trying, I definitely would.” Jungkook replied, voice muffled as he pressed wet kisses down his cheek and along his jaw.
“Go on,” Jimin challenged.
Jungkook’s teeth sunk into the soft skin of Jimin’s neck as his large hands scooped Jimin up from under his thighs. Jimin made a sound somewhere between a gasp and a whimper as he wrapped his legs around Jungkook’s waist and treaded his fingers together behind his neck. Jungkook continued to suck on his neck, marking as far down as Jimin’s shirt would let him as he carried him blindly to the sofa. They had almost made it when Jungkook walked into the corner of the coffee table. Jimin squealed as he slipped and Jungkook’s curse was muffled as they stumbled forwards. Jimin landed on the couch, relatively unscathed until Jungkook landed right on top of him. They both groaned in pain at the impact and Jungkook slid off Jimin’s body and onto the floor.
“Ow, ow, ow.” Jungkook complained, hugging his knee to his chest and rubbing his shin where it had connected with the hard wood of the coffee table.
Jimin peered over the edge of the couch and made grabby hands at the crumbled ball of human, “Come here,”
Jungkook pouted, but complied as he crawled onto the couch, arms still wrapped around his leg.
“Show me.” Jimin insisted.
Ungracefully, Jungkook offered his leg up to Jimin, draping it over his thighs.
Jimin pulled the hem of Jungkook’s track pants up to his knee to see the bruise already forming over the bone of his shin. He darted down and pressed a kiss to the skin before cover his leg again and patting it twice. When he looked up again, Jungkook was smiling at him.
“What?” Jimin’s own smile was tugging at his lips.
“Nothing.” Jungkook’s grin deepened as he reached forward to take Jimin by the shirt and pull him down on top of himself.
Jimin kissed him once, twice, three times before shimmying down and propping his chin up by his hands rested on Jungkook’s chest. Jungkook’s fingers were dragging up and down the length of Jimin’s arms and Jimin turned his head to press his cheek into Jungkook’s chest.
“Are you going to write fanfiction about this?” Jimin asked after a moment, loving the way he heard Jungkook’s laugh rumble through his ribs.
“Absolutely.” He agreed. “‘His lips were as soft as rose petals, his eyes glistened like the dew of the early morning and his caresses lingered like the setting sun, but he kissed like he fucking meant it.’”
Jimin giggled and smacked him lightly on the chest.
“What will you call it?” Jimin asked, lifting his head to meet Jungkook’s gaze.
“‘If only you knew’”, Jungkook said after a moment of contemplation.
“That’s really cheesy,” Jimin said matter-of-factly before crawling further up Jungkook’s body and kissing him sweetly, “but, I like it and I like you.”
Jungkook carded his fingers through Jimin’s hair, sighing, “If only you knew.”
Jimin smacked him again and they both laughed as they met each other for another kiss.
