Summary
Since Pitch's defeat four years ago, Jack hasn't told anybody about the nightmares.
He doesn't tell the Guardians about his powers slowly growing unstable and losing control over his thoughts. He doesn't tell them about his feelings for Pitch, how wrong it feels, or that his first believer no longer believes in him. He doesn't tell them that he doesn't want to live forever. So when Jack starts keeping too many secrets, he accidentally sets off an eternal winter and runs away. As more children stop believing, Mother Earth awakens and threatens to kill Jack to prevent the earth from freezing over.
To save Jack, the Guardians call upon the only spirit capable of reversing the darkness in Jack's heart: Pitch Black himself.
