"Lan XiChen, are you dumb?" The QingheNie's bad-tempered leader asked. "How can you not see the atrocities that idiot is doing?!" ChiFeng-Zun added, most likely raising his voice at his gullible sworn brother. Nie MingJue was becoming more and more tired and furious at the GusuLan sect leader's naivety and constant beseeching of trying to give Jin GuangYao all of the second chances he can give.
Don't get him wrong, Nie MingJue had given Jin GuangYao a lot of second chances, it cannot be even considered second chances anymore! Jin GuangYao no longer deserves any chances from him.
"I know he helped you rebuild your sect's Cloud Recesses but aren't you being too kind at this point?" he asked. "Haven't you repaid your gratitude to him?! Persuading me to forgive him, if he wants to be forgiven he should be the one asking it not you!" The QingheNie leader said as he narrowed his eyes at Lan XiChen, scowling in a menacing manner. "If you keep acting like this, you're going to be fooled by that sly bastard."
The young sect leader purses his lips into a frown. He knows that he's persistent about this certain topic, he knows that it's not out of gratitude anymore.
"But brother, our second brother had been doing his best to keep his promise it's just that, Jin GuangShan has been keeping him under pressure---" Lan XiChen sentences was cut off when Nie MingJue breaks the tea cup he's been holding with his bare hand. Rage is already forming on his strong face. The GusuLan's first jade quickly stood up and walk close to the other man and grabbed him by his wrist, firmly holding Nie MingJue when he tried to pull his arm away.
"Lan XiChen..." The QingheNie sect leader sighed tiredly and simply let the other tend whatever wound his hand had gotten as he calm himself down. Nie MingJue moves his gaze to the young sect leader. His expression was uncharacteristically soft.
Lan XiChen looks at him, pulling out a white handkerchief embroidered with cloud pattern from his hanfu's sleeve and carefully wrapped it around his sworn brother's hand. He tied it before lightly patting the hand as though saying to get better soon.
"Yes, brother?" he finally inquired.
"Why do you always defend and side with Meng Yao even though he's on the wrong side, right before your eyes?" Nie MingJue had always noticed it, he knew that it must have been in the GusuLan's written rules, although, Lan XiChen's actions are becoming more and more foolish.
The GusuLan's sect leader would avert his gaze, a troubled smile played upon his lips. He's reluctant to answer the question and simply keep quiet.
Nie MingJue stares at the sect leader for a moment or so. This is the first time the other showed reluctance, it must've mean...
The QingheNie's leader would use his injured hand to grab Lan XiChen's chin. Firmly having his grip on the other's jaw.
"...If you're this naive, I'm not going to be surprised that one day you'll be dancing on his palm, XiChen..."
Lan XiChen was about to say something when a pair of lips rendered him speechless. Nie MingJue pulled the other close and deepened the kiss.
Unbeknownst to the two, The second young master of QingheNie's sect was standing behind the door, watching through the slight opening. Nie HuaiSang slowly begins to understand why his brother hadn't harm the GusuLan's first jade and had the other watch over him despite Lan XiChen's constant defending of Jin GuangYao.
"They're all gazing at the stars that can't be owned by anyone." Nie HuaiSang carefully moved away, there's nothing he can do, he's too afraid to intervene. The younger Nie opened his fan and hide his amused smile.
"Love, it truly does make a person do foolish things."
