Chapter Text
Midoriya Inko had never once doubted her husband’s love for her, even though they had only dated for a few months, she found him to be such a nice man. They had a beautiful wedding ceremony and a magnificent honeymoon--he had even taken her to Hawaii! Her life almost seemed fake in its perfection. Hisashi had a good job from a Metals Company though the location was pretty remote, quite aways from Musutafu where Inko was used to. He didn’t want to hassel her with the move so instead he convinced Inko that he’d make the commute for the week and come back friday night to spend the weekends then return on Monday. Inko tried to argue to stay together but Hisashi had a way of persuading her, Inko thought that was why he made such a good salesman. Though Inko never herself visited his office she knew that it was a lovely quaint place form what Hisashi described to her. The company he worked for offered him a great salary with large bonuses awarded seemingly randomly, but Hisashi said that that type of bonus happened quite often in the workplace even in the high amounts of yen that he received ever so often.
After a few months of marriage, the couple decided to start a family. Soon Inko discovered she was pregnant with her first child. Around the same time her lifelong friend Mitsuki and her husband also found they were expecting.
Between her almost daily get togethers with Mitsuki, and her mommy blogging, Inko started to notice a few outliers in her husband’s behavior as the pregnancy went on. Hisashi seemed to be more on edge and tense when he was home during the weekends. He would seemingly brush off her concerns for him and tell her “it’s just work.’ Having no reason to doubt him--Inko just accepted it, because why would her husband ever lie to her?
The fasquade fell apart just two weeks before Inko was scheduled to give birth.
The clouds were thick and heavy with rain, and a chill ran through the wind threatening danger to those unlucky enough to brave it. Hisashi had been once again late coming home that Friday night. Usually Inko would just go to sleep and let Hisashi come home and meet her when they both woke the next morning, but she was worried about the violent storm. Inko sat alone in the small living room humming a melody to her unborn child. She was cut off from her tune by the locks turning, signaling her husbands return home. As the door began to open Inko immediately knew something was off. Hisashi was standing in the doorway, blocking most of it being the built man he was, his tan coat coated in a staining black powder and beneath it an almost rose shade. Inko went stiff as she realized what it was, ash and blood.
Blood. Her husband was covered in blood.
“Inko, why are you up so late? You should be in bed.” He said in almost a growl, a tone Inko had never heard from him before. ‘Is he injured?’ She questioned to herself.
She worriedly scanned his body for injury looking from his dirtied work boots up to his torn brown utility pants and up to--
“Inko you should be in bed.”
“Are you injured?” She asked tentatively.
“Inko you should be asleep right now.”
“But the storm I was worried that you might be--”
“I’m fine Inko, Why are you even up you always are asleep when I’m late.”
Her eyes widened when she finally realized that he had no injuries at all. “Hisashi whose blood is that?”
His eyes narrowed at her. He corrected his posture and looked down at her on the couch. “Inko go to bed right now. Forget that this happened.” He commanded her.
Inko had never been one to stand down. She never backed away from a fight. But right now she felt as though her world was crashing around her, her mind connecting dots never meant to be connected to her husband until she put it all together to a possibility she never wanted to be true.
“Hisashi who do you work for?”
“Metals of Japa--”
“Dammit Hisashi I want to know WHO THE HELL YOU WORK FOR!” Inko bubbled with rage. She’d been lied to and fooled. There was no way this was going to end well for him. She had friends and connections and he wasn’t getting out of this unscathed.
“Don’t you dare raise your voice at me woman.” He hissed through his clenched jaw, shoulders shaking in fury.
“Excuse me?” Oh no he didn’t.
Hisashi took a step closer to Inko as she rose from the couch. “I said don’t you dare raise your voice at me, Woman.” He let the words slip from his throat with accompanying fire. He had used his quirk at her.
“Hisashi don’t YOU dare disrespect me your WIFE. GET OUT.”
He began to laugh at her in a mocking tone. “Inko there is nothing you can do to me to get me to leave my own fucking house. You can hardly keep standing with our child in--”
“--MY child.” She finished for him.
“Don’t you cut me off again!” He punctuated his anger with a backhanded slap to Inko’s face, sending her sprawling down into the wood floor--her pregnant belly unprotected from the hard surface. Just before she made contact with the ground he roughly yanked her wrist sending her back first into the ground. All her breath left her as she layed on the floor rolling to her side and bringing up a protective arm around her stomach.
“Your only useful as the bearer of MY child. Your use was your telekinetic quirk. You were the only one gullible enough to marry a man you barely know. So while I won’t hurt the baby I have no problem doing so to you. But if you don’t keep your filthy trap shut then I can’t help but to put a little pressure my little investment.” He reached down to the expecting mother as he placed a firm grip on her wrists keeping them from providing any sort of barrier to her swollen belly. He brought his other hand up to his mouth and pulled off what seemed to be a thin fake cover hiding the true marking of the ring worn boldy on his middle finger. Underneath was an emblem engraved in the face of the piece.
Inko sucked in a sharp breath. It was a fairly well known symbol, being better known everyday, but Inko recognised it from watching the news with Mituki a few days prior.
The villain alliance. Hisashi was a villain.
“I thought I might as well answer your question now my dear.” He let the words resonate with her shaking her very being. Inko had never been so fearful in her life. Not just for her, but for her unborn child.
“This child may be yours by blood but I will never allow you to be in their life.” Inko let the words sizzle from her mouth. She turned her bruised neck just enough to spit in his face. It impacted with a satisfying splat on his skin.
A deep chuckle came from his throat as he used his free hand to wipe the saliva off him. “Oh you’re going to pay for that one.”
He brought his ring up to his lips and activated his quirk, blowing fire onto the metal ring. Inko watched in horror as the ring heated to be red hot and steaming. She struggled to free herself from his grip but his strength was overpowering. He pulled her off the ground held up only by her wrists. Her raised arms caused her shirt to ride up exposing her stomach. She tried to yell to call for help but her voice failed her, too far in shock to speak. He gazed into his superheated ring, studying it then glancing back at Inko. The heat waves visible from anywhere in the room.
In an instant he brought down the ring against her stomach just above her naval--the pain was unbearable. Inko bit into her lip, denying Hisashi the pleasure of hearing her scream. Tears flowed down her cheeks as he removed the ring from her burnt flesh, dripping with blood.
“The child is mine Inko. It’s not my fault--you’re just a gullible bitch with a nifty quirk.”
