Work Text:
It’s too much.
The lights are too bright, even though his sunglasses.
The noise is too loud, even though he has his headphones on. Hizashi normally loves loud noises, especially music, but not right now. Not right now.
His skin prickles, burning like a fire when his normally comfortable clothes rub against it.
Everything is just overwhelming.
He wants to get out of here.
But he can’t.
He’s a Pro Hero on a job.
He can’t just fall apart like this. He has to keep it together.
So Hizashi ends up on autopilot, using his Quirk to help capture the villain even though everything is too much too much too much.
And when it is over, Hizashi goes somewhere quiet, curls in on himself and lets the world drift away.
It’s a shutdown.
Everything goes numb and quiet, his senses dulled. He can barely react when Shouta finds him, crouching in front of him and putting his hands on his shoulders.
“’Zashi?” he says, sounding like he’s underwater. “It’s okay.”
He can barely respond, barely move, barely do a thing. But his husband is here.
And that helps him cope.
But he won’t feel better until this shutdown finally ends.
