Quirk(less)

Summary:

Midoriya Izuku was not having a good day. First, he got hit by a car. Next, he got chased across the city by the police while the city was simultaneously swooped into chaos. Third, he somehow found himself stuck in the police station having manifested a quirk. Yup, this probably makes the top ten on the list of horrible days he's had to live through.

Chapter Text

If I could use one word to describe my current mood, it would be ‘pissed.’ After all, there’s nothing like being stuck in my current situation of being stranded in a police station over something completely out of my hands. It’s not like I planned to get hit by that car well out strolling around. It’s not like I had any realization to what was going on till I found myself suddenly completely unharmed while the world around me was in utter chaos.

What would you expect someone to do when they notice everything around them is in complete pandemonium? After all, people and things were floating, cars were crumbing, and buildings were shaking. So, I did what any sane person would do. I took one look at the current situation around me and high-tailed my ass out of there.

Of course, I freaked out when I noticed the destruction and chaos following me. But no, I did not connect the dots because according to a doctor with the worst mustache you could ever lay eyes on and a little extra joint in my pinky toe, I was quirkless for all extents and purposes. So, as the world raged on, I continued to run like my life depended on it; however, it’s not like I expected the police to suddenly start following me. It was like I was being treated like a villain, so I did what any sane person would have done in that situation, I freaked out and continued running like my life depended on it.

So, as the wild goose chase continued throughout the city, I was not expecting a pro hero to suddenly jump out of nowhere with flying hair and glowing red eyes to pin me to the ground with some kind of scarf material. I was certainly not expecting the chaos spiraling throughout the city to suddenly stop as soon as he laid eyes on me. And I was certainly not expecting to be knocked unconscious by some pink gas.

So, here I am in my current situation, finding myself handcuffed to a chair in a police station, sitting across from a guy who looked more like he should be a homeless man rather than a hero. You know what made the situation even more enjoyable? The fact that no one decided to give an explanation to me about what was going and more importantly, why I found myself waking up handcuffed to a chair in a freaking police station. Luckily, thanks to my own logical brain, I was able to deduce that the events of today were somehow caused by myself. How could that even happen though? After all, according to Mr. ‘You Should Probably Give It Up,’ I am supposed to be quirkless.

As I find myself consumed in my own thoughts, trying to figure out what the hell is going to happen to me in this situation while simultaneously trying to calm myself down from having a panic attack, the water bottle on the floor next to Mr. ‘Wake Me Up When I’m Dead’ starts floating. Before I can even blink, the guy miraculously wakes up, eyes flashing red and hair moving up in the air like it’s nobody’s business, and the water astonishingly drops to the floor.

“It seems the quirk suppressors they gave you aren’t strong enough,” the guy grumbles.

I definitely feel like I know this guy, but I can’t seem to put my finger on it, especially since my head feels like silly puddy at the moment.

“Um ... sir,” I start, trying to keep my voice steady but ultimately failing, “why exactly would I need such strong quirk suppressors in the first place, to my knowledge, I’m supposed to be quirkless.”

“Sorry kid, I’m not allowed to be answering any of your questions.”

            “But ...”

            “Nope, I can’t do it.”

“But, why can’t you?! It’s not like I know anything that’s going on! I’m so freaked out at the moment and all you people are doing is leaving me in the dark about what’s going on! Can’t you at least reassure me everything’s going to be fine or at least give me the full scope of the situation! You’re supposed to be a hero for god’s sake and I’m a civilian, so tell me something,” I scream, letting my anger get the best of me.

It seems at that moment that the chairs got the memo because they start floating off the ground a couple of inches, not like they got too far because the guy’s eyes flashed red again and everything fell to the floor. It also seems like the police department finally got the memo as well because a plain faced guy opened the door next to the hero, looking mildly bewildered.

The guy steps over to me and proceeds to detach the cuffs from the chair.

“I’m sorry about all of this Midoriya-kun, but if you could follow me into the room so we could sort out everything currently going on, that would be great.”

It seems like there’s no room for argument, so I follow behind him into the room with the hero who looked like he’d rather be five feet under than here. Once seated again in another uncomfortable chair, I stare at the guy expectantly, waiting for him to reveal what exactly is going on.

“Well, first let me introduce myself. My name is Detective Tsukauchi Naomosa. I understand you have a lot of questions, but first let me ask you some of my own.”

The detective proceeds to pull out a file and opens it. After staring at it for a couple of seconds, he looks up and proceeds to fold his hands together leaning on the table.

“Now Midoriya-kun, if you could please describe to me the events of today and explain to me your quirk.”

Notes:

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing with this. Came up with this idea, decided why not write it, wrote it in 30 minutes, and so here I am. If you like this comment and thank you for reading this. I hate writing in third person so wanted to see if its easier for me to just write how I normally do in first person when I write stories and its a lot easier for me. So, ya I have no idea what this mess but whatever.
