    There’s a lot of poor decisions being made.
    For one, Joseph is supposed to be in a meeting right now. It’s one of Jacob’s arms dealers from Romania, and though Jacob could run—and probably is running—the meeting himself, Joseph is usually expected to make an appearance, even if it’s just for a few minutes.
    For two, Joseph Seed is an internationally known cartel leader, star of a cult of personality. He’s dealt drugs, weapons, and every other kind of vice for at least two decades.
    For three, Dahlia has a work lunch in two hours that she can’t afford to miss. It’s been seven days since she last checked in with the editor and everybody wants to know how the Joseph Seed story is going.
