They're holding hands and life was perfect

"I think the first step in helping you get better is finding a new environment"

Bakugo stared at the psychiatrist in front of him, thoroughly confused at what she was trying to tell him. She sighed and smiled sadly at him.

"Maybe, instead of you doing homeschool, we could put you into a public school" she spoke very slowly, as if Bakugo didn't understand her.

"And why the fuck would I want to do that?" he asked seriously despite his sarcastic tone. Bakugo obviously didn't want to have to go to a public school just to be surrounded by idiots.

"I've already mentioned this to you parents, and they seemed very intrigued." she told him, ignoring his protest. He raised an eyebrow at her.

"Basically, what I'm saying is that you probably don't have a choice. I think it'll be very beneficial, anyways. If you're not isolated physically, it could help you not feel isolated mentally." she said, making Bakugo scoff.

"Don't come at me with your therapy bullshit, I understand. When does public school even start?" he asked.

"Monday"

At hearing this, Bakugo practically choked. It was already Thursday, which meant...

"I can tell what you're thinking. They've probably already enrolled you." she said, smirking slightly. Bakugo groaned, standing up from his seat.

"I'm leaving. See you next week or whatever" he said, storming out of the door of the psychiatric clinic to see his mom's car waiting for him. His parents didn't even trust him to walk home anymore. He was getting a headache because of it, but it didn't seem like it was going to get any better.

He opened the car door and sat in the passenger seat, immediately putting in his headphones and looking out of the window as his mom drove home. They didn't live very far from the clinic, so they arrived in less than ten minutes. As Bakugo took out his headphones and stepped out of the car, his mom cleared her throat. He reluctantly looked over at her, arching an eyebrow.

"When we get inside, don't storm upstairs. We need to talk" his mom said in her usual blunt tone. He responded with a grunt as he walked inside to see his dad already sitting on the couch. Bakugo sat on the couch opposite of his dad, which now had his mother sitting on it.

"So...did she tell you about our plans?" his mom asked, already knowing the answer. Bakugo tensed up.

"Yeah. She did. I don't like it" he said in short phrases, trying to stay calm. His mom sighed, looking at him with tired eyes. It's what her eyes have looked like for the past month since Bakugo got out of the hospital.

"Katsuki, I know you don't like it. But you've got to. You've been homeschooled since the first grade, and I feel terrible. You could at least spend the last two years of school in public school. You don't have a choice" his mom lectured, making his stomach churn.

"Fine. I'm not going to fucking try to get out of it" he said, feeling anger boil in him. His mom gave a weak but genuine smile and stood up, walking into the kitchen. Bakugo took that as a cue to leave, which he did gladly.

By the time he got to his room and took a shower, it was dark outside. He felt excitement for the first time since he woke up as he opened the hatch on his window. He climbed out of the window and fell back onto the panels of his roof. He looked up into the dark sky, seeing the beautiful stars.

This was the only thing that made Bakugo calm. Every night, he'd climb onto the roof and look at the stars for up to hours. He couldn't get enough of them, sometimes he'd even try to count them. Tonight, the moon was a cresent. It was on the far side of the horizon since the sun had just set, but it was still just as beautiful. As the time progressed, more and more small dots began to appear in the sky. Bakugo tried to form different shapes out of them, usually failing, but sometimes getting an interesting pattern.

After hours has past and the moon was almost in the middle of the sky, Bakugo decided to go back inside to go to sleep. But, once he got in bed, his eyes just wouldn't close. This wasn't new, but it was still bothersome.

After what seemed like forever of staring at the wall, Bakugo sat up in his bed as a frustrated tear fell down his face. He got up, standing in his room for a moment, crying. He unlatched the window for the second time that night, laying on the familiar rough panels that made up his roof. As he counted the stars that were out, his tears stopped falling.

His eyes stayed open until the stars had disappeared from the sky.

Just like up on the screen
And the whole time while always giving
Counting your face among the living
