Phoenix sits in Miles’ office, sipping a cup of tea. With everything that has happened recently with his trips abroad and losing Apollo’s services at the office and that bizarre case involving time travel, Phoenix has been very busy. And he has seen his oldest friend a lot throughout all of this, but he and Miles haven’t had much time to hang out as friends.
“Wright, I do not ‘hang out’,” Miles says.
Phoenix grins. “Well you know what I mean.”
Miles is about to say something else when his cell phone rings, the Steel Samurai theme echoing around his office. “I apologise, Wright, but I need to take this.”
“Go ahead,” Phoenix says, and Miles takes the call.
“Hello, Raymond... May I ask why you are calling me… Don’t be sappy,” Miles says, sighing. “If I must… Yes, I miss you too.”
Phoenix stares at his best friend, amazed. He has never heard Miles talk like this, his tone so soft as he talks to the man called Raymond. In fact, Miles’ fond expression reminds Phoenix of how he sounds when chatting to Maya… wait, is Miles dating this guy?
“…I am having tea with Wright… you know, Phoenix Wright…” Miles chuckles. “Yes, that’s him…”
What are they saying about him?
“Anyway, is it all right to call you back later… wonderful…” Miles blushes slightly. “I love you too.”
When he hangs up, he sees Phoenix’s incredulous look.
“You’re dating someone?”
Miles sighs. “Yes, Wright.”
“But… I thought you’re asexual.”
“Well remembered. Yes, I am asexual. However, I am not aromantic. Which is why I am in relationship with Raymond Shields.”
Wait, that name rings a bell.
“No way!” Phoenix cries, laughing. “Raymond fancy-a-hug Shields?”
Miles glares at him. “Shut up, Wright.”
Phoenix laughs, amazed, and sips his tea.
