Work Text:

Bang-family 1

The twins were storming around the house. Actually, they weren't twins per se, but they were the same age (seven, what an energetic age), had been adopted almost at the same time, and got along so well that they were closer to each other than a lot of siblings out there.

Their parents were in the kitchen, making dinner.

"Why did we adopt two on a roll again?"

"Because we couldn't resist Taehyung when we met him when we got to the orphanage to bring Jimin home, finally, and because Jimin was already too close to him, despite TaeTae being there for only two weeks at that time."

"Oh, yes, right!"

"Jinnie, why do you ask this time and time again? I know that you don't regret it."

"OF COURSE I DON'T! I love them with all my heart, they're my life, along with you, but sometimes I can't restrain myself on wanting that we had more 'we' time without needing to worry about two boys."

While he said this, Seokjin was at the counter, mixing vegetables on rice, and looking through the window to the two kids in question. Namjoon raised from the chair by the table and hugged Seokjin from behind.

"I understand you." He kissed Jin on the cheek before looking through the window too. "They're so happy, and we are so happy because of them."

"Yeah. Those thoughts don't last even two seconds, don't worry."

"Think about this: next year, when Yoongi and Hoseok are well settled with their little boy Jungkook, we can let Jimin and Taehyung with them for the weekend and do quick trips, only us."

"I don't know if Yoongi would survive, but that is a nice idea. And we can return the favor to them too."

"Sure. The kids already get along really well."

Seokjin nodded and Namjoon stepped back, letting his husband finish dinner. He put the table since he wasn't of much help with cooking. The kitchen was quiet for a while, only the sound of utensils being placed and the giggles that came from the yard filling the air.

"Can you believe it's already been a year?" Jin said with a sigh, making Namjoon look at him again.

"Yes, unbelievable. Often feels like it was yesterday."

"And often feels like they were always ours."

"Yes."

That talk was making Seokjin more and more emotional so he let out a laugh and turned to put the dinner dish on the table.

"Go get our energy balls and make sure they wash their hands oN THE BATHROOM WITH SOAP!" He yelled the last part since Namjoon was already out of the house by then.

It didn't take long for him to hear a thunder of feet stomping on the ground as the kids ran to him.

"Daddy, we're hungry!"

"I'm glad to know, Jiminie, I made plenty of food for us. Take a seat." After they were all settled, Seokjin continued. "For dessert we have cake. Either of you knows why?"

"It's our family anniversary!"

"That's exactly right, TaeTae, it's been a year since we four became a family, so we're celebrating." Said Namjoon, smiling.

The kids cheered loudly until Jin served them and said that they should calm down and eat or they wouldn't get to the cake.

A lot later, after tiring boys in a sugar high, bathing them, and putting them to sleep, they were by the door of their sons' shared bedroom looking at them. Namjoon hugged Seokjin again and kissed his cheek softly.

"Thank you for marrying me, accept to adopt them, and giving me this family, Jinnie."

"Thank you for convincing me on doing all that, Joonie. I love you."

"I love you too."

They pushed the door letting it just slightly ajar and went to their bedroom to have that 'we' time that Seokjin talked about earlier.
