Chapter Text
“Guys, come here”
Kaminari waved his hand at the group of friends in front of him, urging them to come closer. After Mina, Sero and Bakugou made a circle around the yellow-haired boy, he spoke. “Okay, so you guys know it’s October the 1st, you know what that means?”
“IT’S ALMOST HALLOWEEN!” Sero proclaimed excitedly.
“That there’s only five days left for our next maths exam, which I’m totally gonna fail.” Mina answered with a groan.
“Ssssshhh!! Dudes, you’re too loud!” Denki turned his head right and left, as if checking no one was listening. “And you are wrong. I mean, you’re right, and damn you Mina for bringing that up, BUT there’s something a lot more important than that happening in October.”
Everyone stood in silence for a couple of seconds, deep in thought. Then Bakugou let out a tired sigh.
“It’s Kirishima’s birthday, you idiots.”
The group gasped in realization. Kaminari couldn’t help but smile. Of course Bakugou would know.
“These group only has three brain-cells and two belong to blasty here, he’s absolutely right.” He brought one hand to his chest, and dramatically continued “On the 16th we shall celebrate our Lord and Savior Kirishima’s day of birth.”
“So that’s why you waited until he left with Tetsutetsu for training to tell us.” Sero deduced.
“Actually he’s in on this too. I texted him this morning and he said he would ask me later what we’ve decided.” Kaminari stood with his arms on his waist, chest out, proud. Bakugou stared at the floor, hands in his pockets. “So what are you suggesting we do, pikachu?”
“Hehehee…” Kaminari brought a hand to the back of his neck. “I haven’t come up with anything yet… but hey! You should think too! I can’t do all the work, I’m already coordinating all the participants!”
“Mmmmm” Mina tapped her chin with her index finger repeatedly “What would Kirishima like?”
“Something manly, obviously.” Sero said. “Maybe we could go watch an action movie or something?”
“Oh, come on, that’s so lame!” Ashido took out her phone and started typing at the speed of light. “Here, found it! Take a look at this.”
She turned the screen around for everyone to see. It was a collection of pictures of an adventure park in the forest, there were lots of zip-lines crossing the sky from one tree-top to another, as well as rock-climbing sets and an archery set.
“That’s so cool!” Kaminari exclaimed.
“I know right? I went there during summer holidays with my cousins and it was totally awesome.”
Bakugou shifted onto his left leg, tapping his foot on the floor almost imperceptibly “During summer might have been good, but isn’t it too fucking cold for that now?”
Sero raised an eyebrow. “What? It’s still warm! And you’re wearing a tank top too!”
“It’s warmer inside.” The ash-blond pouted.
“The window is wide open!” Yeap, it is. And they were standing right next to it, too.
“Are you afraid of heights or something, Bakugou?” Mina laughed, obviously trying to get on the blond's nerves. But Bakugou blushed, looking away.
Spot on.
“Oh my god” Denki’s jaw fell open. “You are!?” Katsuki’s face was getting redder every second, and his frown deeper. “How the hell are you scared of heights!? You fly with your quirk!”
“I’M NOT FUCKING SCARED OF HEIGHTS OKAY?” Everyone in the common room turned his head towards the angry boy before the group could shush him. “It’s fine when I do it with my explosions, but I don’t trust those damn ropes.”
“Says the guy who likes going hiking.” Mina rolled her eyes.
“It’s hiking, airhead, not rock-climbing.”
Denki brought his hands up in a sign of peace. “Okay, okay, lads, let’s think of something else.”
“I had thought…” Bakugou started “…a party.”
“What?” Everybody asked in unison. “Did Mr. Antisocial here just use the p-word?” Sero teased.
“Shut up, cellophane. I couldn’t fucking care less about parties, but it’s Kirishima we’re talking about, if anything he’s a stupidly social butterfly.”
The other three exchanged an interested look. “He’s right.” Mina said. “Our Kiri is really popular, everybody likes him, and he cherishes his friends.”
“So maybe we could throw a surprise party for him, all of 1-A and maybe 1-B too?”
“Sounds like a plan!” Kaminari chanted, fist raised victoriously up in the air. “The Kirisquad is on a mission! What will be our code names? I choose ‘Dashing bolt’- ”
“Oh, are we playing spies now?”
The group of friends suddenly jumped on the spot, startled by a new voice. “Kirishima!”
“What- What are you doing here?” Mina’s try at a casual position against the wall was making her more suspicious than anything.
“I was gonna go to the gym with Tetsutetsu but turns out the bathrooms have flooded and it's gonna be closed this week.” One could see the disappointment on the redhead’s face, but he turned it into a smile instantly. “But anyway, what were you guys talking about?”
“OH! Nothing important! Just boring school stuff.” Denki hooked an arm around Kirishima’s neck, ruffling his hair. “Did you know Bakugou is afraid of heights?”
“What?” Eijirou eyed the blond with a grin “No way!”
“DO YOU HAVE A FUCKING DEATH-WISH, DUMBASS?”
The living room was filled with sounds of explosions and laughter. The Kirisquad secret-mission had just avoided their first crisis, but how many more were there to come?
