Chapter 1: The Other Round Table

Chapter Text

Time was a thing of the past, or it is a thing of the future, maybe its the thing of the present. Sitting in this room, who would know--who could know. Whatever was, is, and whatever is, was, and that is what will always be. This is The Other Round Table; emphasis on 'other'.

The original Round Table was presented within the story of King Arthur and his noble knights. This table represented hope and good virtue-- justice, love, brotherhood--but what would the world be without a balanced force. This is The Other Round Table, representing the bad virtues of humanity; the seven deadly sins. These seven sins are ridiculed and judged by the hypocrites who are all guilty of committing one or more of these sins themselves. These seven sins include: Greed, Wrath, Lust, Sloth, Gluttony, Pride, and Envy. Each of these sins are the basis of all sin; every other sin derived or influenced by these seven spirits.

In spite of not wanting to face the consequences of ones wrong doings, humans have turned to blame their own transgression on the seven sin spirits, rather than taking responsibilities for their own poor choices. However, just like anything else, everything has to have a starting point; meaning the sins had to derive from some specific origin. So, yes, even the Seven Deadly Sins have a story.

"Shh, 'm sick of these peoples arguin' all the damn time." Wrath growled, earning himself a small glare from Greed.

"I wants yous to stop usin' those words. 'm sick of hearing your insignificant whinin'-" Greed was cut off by Pride.

"I don't care what either of you want or have a problem with. I am the leader here, so both of you shut the hell up, before I make you." Though they complied, the simultaneous eye roll did not go unnoticed by Pride.

The door to the room--of the Other Round Table--slammed shut causing the six, seated sins to face their remaining brother as he stormed in with a vexed look upon his face. Envy snorted, feeling a bit pleased that Lust was feeling some sort of irritation, but also slightly annoyed that he didn't have something to be annoyed about.

"These filthy humans, blaming us- blaming me." Lust took his seat next to Sloth, who was already in a deep sleep, and mumbled his distress. Pride rolled his eyes, having heard this before from Lust.

"I don't want to hear it. It comes with the job, they might have chosen the path for themselves, but you did influenced it, remember?" Lust scoffed at his leaders words, choosing to once again let the words flow in one ear and out the other, the words not be remembered until the next time Pride tries to tell him off. Truth be told, Lust is the only one to ever truly stand up to Pride, while also being the only sin spirit Sloth decides to get along with--for obvious reasons.

Lust remained in his state of irritation ignoring the--wise-- words of Pride, ones he should really come to accept. Gluttony leaned on Pride, giving him the only look Pride just cannot ignore. "I'm hungry. I'm hungry for a story. Will you tell me a story, please?" Pride's eyes soften momentarily, Gluttony being the only one able to do so.

Envy watched them with malicious eyes. He didn't like to see the sins cuddled up with their favorite brother nor did he like that they seem to need each other. He hated them for having an equal that balances each other out, and most of all, he hated how they never caused destruction. He knew he was better, better alone. To cause strife and heartache, to cause the worst kind of emotion among man, that is what he did; what he liked to do. Unlike the other sins he actually liked to be blamed for the jealousy and conflict that was caused by envy; caused by him. It was the one thing no one else had, the ability to stay negative, the people he affected never came back from it--being envious is an addicting trait.

"Of course, I suppose we haven't told stories in a while." Pride gave a mischievous smirk and looked over at Sloth, who was still napping. "Sloth! How about you start us off, tell us about-" Pride was interrupted as Greed shot up out of his seat, practically on top of the table in the blink of an eye.

"No!" Greed's loud voice being the actual thing that woke up Sloth, despite Prides efforts. "I wants to start us off, 'm always first 'cause 'm number one." Greed giving a bright smile paired with determined eyes; always having to get his way.

Wrath groaned and pulled Greed back down into his seat with a thud. "Yous might have a nice ass and all, but tha' don't means I wan' it in my face all fuckin' day." Greed turned, grabbing the collar of Wrath's shirt, with a smirk, and pulled him close to his face.

"I don't care what it is yous wants, but what I want is fo' yous pretty mouth to stop spewing all them ugly ass words." Wrath's face began to glow red from anger of being embarrassed. He didn't like to have Greed so close to him in front of the others. Pride started to grow impatient.

"You two need to shut the fuck up, I said Sloth will go first, so that means he will-" Pride was, once again, interrupted. Sloth raised his right eyebrow about to protest for an exemption to story time, but Greed beat him to it. Pride rolled his eyes, but allowed for Greed to continue.

"Okay, listen closely 'cause i's a good one. Dis is the story of Kim Taehyung, the first mans I has ever influenced wit' the sin of greed." Greed's excited smirk said it all, he loved this story; the story of his birth.

Notes:

So, here is my intro/prologue. I hope you enjoyed it. Please leave a comment and let me know if you would like another update!
This is 100% my idea, I didn't steal it so neither should you. I love this concept and hope you all do too. I want to get peoples minds working, I wanted something to make people have to deeply think about my story to understand it. There will be a total of nine chapters; the intro, the seven chapters for each sins story, and then the outro which will bring us back to the scene at the 'other' round table. I really hope this isn't a flop for I am very excited to continue this piece.

Thank you for reading! ;)
