Song lyrics look like this
“Kacchan is amazing!!”
Katsuki held his victory pose for a few more seconds before turning towards his newly appointed best friend. Izuku’s eyes were still a little red from crying and his cheeks wet, but the green haired boy was smiling at him wide. Katsuki felt heat rush to his own cheeks as he quickly looked away.
“Of course, I am!”
He’d never had anybody smile at him like that before.
This is the story of a girl
Who cried a river and drowned the whole world
And while she looked so sad in photographs
I absolutely love her, when she smiles
He focuses on his lunch and continues to ignore the extras around him. It’s been six weeks since he stopped eating lunch with Izuk-Deku. Six weeks since the small green haired boy had soaked Katsuki’s shirt with his tears and snot and told the ash-blonde he was Quirkless. Six weeks since the same idiot declared he would still somehow be a hero. Six weeks since Katsuki had ended their friendship.
“Hey,” he hears the extra next to him shout as a hand lands on his shoulder. “Looks like Midoriya got a note from his Mommy.”
He jerks his shoulder away from the other boy’s hand (he’d use his quirk but his Mom said she ground him she got another call from the school), and looks towards Izu-Deku. As usual the boy is sitting alone far away from everyone. His only company being his favorite All Might themed lunchbox. Not as usual though is the small smile on Deku’s face as he seems to be focusing on what appears to be an All Might shaped cookie with a piece of paper attached to the cookie’s plastic wrapping.
He can feel the extras around him watching him. Waiting to see just what he’ll say. Waiting to see how he can use this knowledge to mess with the class’s quirkless crybaby.
“What note? All I see is a stupid napkin.”
He turns back to his lunch and continues eating.
It’s been six weeks since he’d seen Deku smile.
He’ll just find some way to mess with the nerd later.
How many days in the year
She woke up with hope, but she only found tears
And I can be so insincere
Making the promises never for real
As long as she stands there waiting
Wearing the holes in the soles of her shoes
How many days disappear
You look in the mirror so how do you choose
He watches as the boy’s green eyes light up as he spots the very last limited edition All Might hoodie. Watches as the nerd clutches the hoodie to his chest and rushes over to the cashier with a bounce in his step. Watches as the boy smiles wide as he the cashier tells him how lucky he is, because another boy had been eyeing that same hoodie earlier. Watches as Deku thanks the cashier and hurries out of the store with his new purchase clutched tightly to his chest.
Just yesterday he’d watched that same boy cry big ugly tears as Katsuki had shoved him to the ground.
Katsuki comes out from his hiding spot behind the shelves and leaves the store empty handed.
Your clothes never wear as well the next day
And your hair never falls in quite the same way
You never seem to run out of things to say
This is the story of a girl
Who cried a river and drowned the whole world
And while she looked so sad in photographs
I absolutely love her, when she smiles
It’s all over the news. Newspapers, TVs, and almost every website. She’s not the first teenager to commit suicide, and sadly she probably won’t be the last. She’s also probably not the only person to blame being Quirkless on why they decided to take their lives.
It’s the video she leaves behind that catches everybody’s attention though. The video she took and posted to the internet before jumping and ending her life. In the video she talks about what it means to grow up Quirkless. How she was bullied and beaten by her peers for being different. How her family shunned her for not having powers. She cried, she screamed, she ranted, and then at the very end she smiled. She spoke how she knew her death would change nothing for those diagnosed Quirkless, but at least she was going to be free. She thanked her one and only friend, whispered a goodbye, and then the video ended.
Her body was found smashed into the ground not twenty minutes after the video was posted. She was pronounced dead on site.
Katsuki changes the channel. His fellow classmates make displeased noises at him. He ignores them. They know the story. It’s all people have been talking about all day.
He glances over at Deku.
Deku, who’s been unnaturally quiet all day. Deku, who’s being staring at the TV with glazed lost wet eyes. Deku who grew up Quirkless.
He flips the channels until he comes across a familiar animated show.
“Hey Deku, you remember this show, right?”
He glances over at Deku again. The other boy doesn’t even seem to realize he’d changed the channel.
“Hey DEKU!”
The nerd jumps and finally looks at him with lost eyes.
“Huh?”
He rolls his eyes and gestures to the TV. Deku turns and stares at the screen. The others have gone silent. Thankfully they’d seem to realize something was wrong. Even better is some of them have realized the smartest option is to ignore the scene going on between the two suppose childhood friends. Those not as smart stare. He can see a look of warning coming from a certain round-faced girl, and a socially awkward bastard.
He ignores them.
“Oh.” He focuses back on Deku. “I do remember this show. We used to watch it together all the time.” Deku smiles for a second seemingly lost in happier memories before the smile drops. Katsuki can see tears in his eyes threatening to fall.
He takes a deep breath. The things he does for this nerd.
“You loved this god damn show. Use to quote it all the fucking time. What was that line you use to say?”
“Um,” Deku’s staring at him uncertainly. “Do not fear for justice is here?”
“No, no,” he shakes his head. “It was more like “Do not fear,” He takes a deep breath and throws both of his fists into the air before shouting as loud as he can, “FOR JUSTICE IS HERE!”
Every bodies staring at them now. Looks of wide-eyed confusion and fear.
Deku blinks at him. Once. Twice. Then he laughs. He laughs so hard he snorts. Katsuki swears he can see the light return to his eyes.
“Right, right,” Deku nods. “Do not fear FOR JUSTICE IS HERE!” Deku throws his own fists into the air as he repeats the line. The nerd laughs for a bit longer before seeming to realize they still have and audience watching them. He gives them all an embarrassing smile before giving them an explanation. He goes on about the plot of the show. Shares one of the more happier childhood memories he shares with Katsuki.
He leans back into the couch and lets the nerd talk. Out of the corner of his eye he can see Shitty Hair giving him an amused look and a thumbs up.
He flicks him off.
How many lovers would stay
Just to put up with this shit day after day
How do we wind up this way
Watchin' the mouths for the words I would say
As long as we stand here waiting
Wearing the clothes of the soles I would choose
How do we get there today
If we're walkin' to far from the price of the shoes
He wants to blow something up. Punch someone.
“Please…”
He wants his own voice to stop sounding so weak.
“I need help over here! Please, somebody!”
He clutches the green clad body to his chest. It’s all he can think to do.
“Please somebody! I need help over here!”
He looks down at the man in his arms.
“Don’t you dare fucking die on me you shitty nerd.”
There’s so much red. He didn’t even know a person contained this much red.
“Hey are you listening to me? Hey!”
Deku gives a weak cough and smiles.
“It’s… it’s going to... to be okay Kacchan.”
He ignores the tears running down his cheeks and holds the man closer.
He just doesn’t know what else to do.
Your clothes never wear as well the next day
And your hair never falls in quite the same way
You never seem to run out of things to say
This is the story of a girl
Who cried a river and drowned the whole world
And while she looked so sad and lonely there
I absolutely love her, when she smiles
“Do you think it will really work?”
Katsuki tries to ignore the tears drying on Deku’s cheeks and snot smeared above his upper lip.
“Of course, I do. If being Quirkless couldn’t stop you then I don’t see why this would.”
Deku snorts, chokes on his own spit like the idiot he is, and smiles.
“Yea, I guess you’re right.”
“Of course, I’m right. I’m always right, remember?”
Deku snorts again and somehow manages to not choke this time.
“Of course, how could I forget.”
“That better not be sass I hear in your voice, Deku.”
Deku laughs and leans his body to rest against Katsuki’s side.
“Never Kacchan.”
Katsuki flips him off, thinks about it, then flicks the idiot in the nose. Deku swats at him.
“Kacchan is a meanie!”
“Meanie? Really, Deku? Plus,I thought I was amazing?”
Deku giggles like the man child he is and butts Katsuki with his head.
“Kacchan is amazing!”
“Damn straight ya Nerd!”
A comfortable silence falls over the two of them. Deku as always is the first to break it.
“Do you really think I can still be a hero?”
Katsuki looks down at what remains of Deku’s right leg. It’s merely a nub now. Ending a few inches above where the idiot’s knee had once been. The doctors had done the best they could to make the nub at least look somewhat presentable, but it was still a mass of ugly ragged healing wounds. Considering the Nomu responsible for this had used its teeth to tear Deku’s leg cleanly off he felt the doctors had done a pretty damn good job.
He looks back up at Deku’s face. He shakes his head and uses his sleeve to wipe away the tears and snot.
“I already told you, you would Stupid and like we agree on?”
“You’re always right?”
“Now you’re getting it!”
He smiles and leans over to give Deku a quick kiss on the cheek. Deku blushes brightly and smiles back.
Your clothes never wear as well the next day
And your hair never falls in quite the same way
You never seem to run out of things to say
This is the story of a girl
Who cried a river and drowned the whole world
And while she looks so sad in photographs

“The doctors are saying he has two months at the most!”
Deku was sobbing. Not crying, not whining, but sobbing. They’d known for years that All Might didn’t have long for this world. The doctors actually seemed surprised the man had lasted as long as he had. Especially, given how bad his health had been the past few months. The doctors were finally calling it though. Two months at the most.
Deku hadn’t taken the news well.
“Two months, Kacchan!!”
Katsuki nods and runs his hands through Deku’s fluffy green locks.
“Then let’s make them count. Let’s give him the best two months of his life. Let’s…”
Deku peers up at him curiously. Katsuki swallows nervously.
“Let’s… let’s get married! You said if you ever got married you wanted him to be there, right? So, let’s get married!”
Deku stares at him.
“K-Kacchan?”
“Here I wait,” he stands quickly from the couch, almost knocking Deku off in the process and rushes back into their bedroom. He digs around in his sock drawer until he finds the small green box, and then rushes back out into the living room.
“Here, I uh,” he opens the box and presents the ring to Deku who’s still staring at him completely. It’s small, gold with tiny orange and green gems woven together. “I mean unless you don’t want too I uh…”
Fortunately for him, Deku finally speaks.
“You got me a ring?”
He nods.
“You … you want to marry me?”
He nods again.
Deku takes a shaky breath. For a second Katsuki’s sure he’d fucked everything up, but at last Deku smiles. His eyes glisten with happy tears as he literally launches himself off the couch at him.
“Of course, I’ll marry you Kacchan!”
Katsuki sighs in relief as Deku presses overly wet kisses to his face. He smiles and holds the other man close.
This is the story of a girl
Who's pretty face she hid from the world
And while she looked so sad and lonely there
I absolutely love her
This is the story of a girl
Who cried a river and drowned the whole world
And while she looked so sad in photographs
I absolutely love her, when she smiles,
“This is not my song Kacchan. Firstly, I am not a girl and secondly-”
The green haired pro-hero squeals as two strong wraps around his waist and pull him against a firm chest. Deku swats at him with the spatula he’s holding.
“Kacchan I’m trying to cook!”
Katsuki ignores him and rest his head on Deku’s shoulder as he begins to sway their bodies to the song playing from the radio. He sings along.
“This is the story of a boy
Who cried a river and drowned the whole world.”
Deku snorts. Katsuki smirks and presses a kiss to the back of his neck.
“And while he looked so sad in photographs
I absolutely love him,”
Deku smiles and leans back against him.
“When he smiles.”
when she smiles
