Remembered Katsuki's voice—rough and reverent—whispering "beautiful" and "perfect" and "good" like prayers against his skin. Remembered how Katsuki's hands had moved over his body with such care, such attention, mapping every freckle and scar like they were treasures. Remembered the look in those crimson eyes when Katsuki had finally seen him completely—all his disguises stripped away—and hadn't looked away.

    Remembered that Katsuki had turned off his phone. Had chosen him over his girlfriend, even if just for one night.
    A smile bloomed across Izuku's face, slow and genuine and completely unguarded.

    The bite mark hidden beneath Izuku’s hoodie throbbed in response. A painful reminder of that day back in Aldera Junior High—a scuffle gone too far, Katsuki’s mouth pressed over his mating gland.

    Katsuki had just graduated from U.A. He was about to become an official sidekick under Best Jeanist.

    The spotlight was coming for him.

    A scandal—especially one involving bonding during adolescence—could derail everything. Japan still held very traditional views on alpha and omega dynamics. If the public believed a rising pro hero had recklessly bitten an omega classmate—had promptly ditched that omega and never taken responsibility—the backlash could be severe.

    “Why does it have to be him?” Katsuki blurts out, because really, that’s what he wants to know. “Of all of the fucking people in the world, why does it have to be him?”

    “I was confused about it at first too,” Kirishima admits. He sits up a little straighter. “I mean, you guys fucking hated each other for the longest time. You couldn’t even be in the same room together without getting into an argument or breaking a table.” He laughs a little. Katsuki doesn’t understand how any of this is funny. “Then one day, you guys came into work and… you smelled like him. Everything calmed down after that. It was like all of that hatred and tension was just your way of trying to process your feelings for one another. Once you guys finally, uh, talked it out, things got better.”

    (In which Katsuki Bakugou is attacked and loses all recollection of his relationship with Izuku and has to learn to fall in love with him all over again. Faced with a hero case involving a serial killer and missing omegas, Katsuki needs to learn to put aside his own prejudice and open himself up to truth.)
