Work Text:
Waking up surrounded by warm pressure is a feeling Ochako is never going to get tired of. It’s especially sweet when she blinks her eyes open to be greeted by soft skin, face nuzzled into Tenya’s broad chest.
He smells clean, like the soap they used last night before falling into bed together, tired after a long day of hero work. Thankfully, Sunday is the one day of the week the both of them have off, and she’s never been more happy to not have any plans.
Ochako pulls away from him slightly, not enough to dislodge his arm from around her waist, but just so she can look at his peaceful face. She brings a hand up to brush dark blue hair away from Tenya’s face, and smiles at the way he tilts ever so slightly into her touch.
The soft morning light drapes over them both like sheer fabric, softening Tenya’s hard edges and making him seem that much more serene. Ochako closes her eyes as she presses kisses to his forehead, cheekbones, the corners of his mouth, over and over until his eyes flutter open.
“Mmm, Ochako,” he murmurs, shifting closer to her and tightening his arm around her.
“Hi, love,” she whispers, kissing him on the cheek again. “Wanna get up?”
“What time is it?”
She can’t turn around to check her phone without disrupting their position, so she shrugs. “Morning.”
Tenya huffs a small laugh, pressing a kiss to her collarbone. “I guess we should get up then.”
Lazily, they drag themselves out of the warm comfort of their bed, shivering while they freshen up and then pulling on soft sweaters.
Ochako heads down to the kitchen first, setting a pan on the stovetop to prepare eggs for breakfast. She chops vegetables as the oil warms, humming quietly to the radio that sits on the kitchen island. A smile comes to her face as warm arms envelop her and Tenya’s chest presses against her back, resting his chin on her shoulder.
“That looks so good.”
She giggles. “I haven’t even started cooking it yet.”
“Let me help you, then.” Tenya moves next to her, grabbing a spatula from a drawer. He’s stopped by Ochako’s hand around his wrist, pulling him away and leading him over to the table.
“You are gonna sit down and wait because you’ve been working so hard.” She raises a hand as Tenya opens his mouth to protest. “I can make an omelette, Tenya! C’mon, lemme treat you!”
Tenya slumps back in the chair, pouting in a manner far too cute for Ochako’s heart. “I suppose that’s alright. Thank you, love.”
She nods in satisfaction, bouncing a little as she gets back to the stove. It’s nice seeing Tenya well rested and content, since he’s one of the busiest heroes she knows. Just like Deku, Tenya has to be talked down from taking on more cases and paperwork than he can handle, coerced by all of his friends to take some time to relax and have fun. Usually, he even wakes up early on off days, but Ochako managed to talk him into spending a lazy Sunday together.
Soon enough, she’s finished making their breakfasts, and brings them to the table. Tenya pours tea out for the both of them, which Ochako accepts gratefully.
They eat in silence for a while, nothing but the sound of their utensils and the pleasant morning hum filling their apartment. A little ways in, Tenya groans, an appreciative sound that makes Ochako look up. He’s smiling over his plate, finishing the bite in his mouth before looking up at her.
Tenya’s smile is wide, a sight that Ochako is grateful has become more common in the years they’ve been together. “This tastes wonderful, Ochako. They seem special, compared to usual.”
“Special…? I mean, the ingredients are really fresh because I bought them yesterday, but they shouldn’t be any different…”
Suddenly, Tenya moves, leaving his seat to get down on one knee by the side of Ochako’s chair. She stares at him wide-eyed as he grabs her left hand, pressing a kiss to the back of it, and looks into her eyes.
“Tenya?”
“Ochako, everything you do is special. There isn’t a single about you that I don’t take time to appreciate every day. Being with you has been the best experience of my life.” He pauses, inhaling then breathing out slowly. “Ochako, marry me.”
She holds her breath for a few seconds, looking at Tenya and all of the love reflected in his dark eyes. Ochako can feel her own eyes water a little bit, stinging as she sniffs and starts to giggle.
“Tenya, you’re so dramatic.”
“What?” he asks, grinning. “You don’t want to?”
She grabs Tenya’s left hand then, bringing it up to her lips and kissing the golden band that wraps around his finger. “Married me three years ago and you still can’t get enough, huh?”
Tenya’s hand tightens around hers. “I love you too much to only be married once.”
“God,” she says, pulling him up from the floor and pressing an adoring kiss to his lips. “You’re dumb.”
“Only for you,” he replies, kissing her jawline and holding Ochako close.
