Chapter Text

Go play with your Hwarang hyungs!
Jimin-ah

Let's play, all three of us
No, I don't want to play with you

Jimin-ah

Jimin. Haha

Taehyung awkwardly laughs as he keeps on calling Jimin. His mind is running a hundred miles a minute trying to come up with the right words - an apology or a couple of them or perhaps a joke -  anything to appease Jimin because Jimin is clearly upset. It honestly surprised Taehyung. He’s totally caught off-guard by how Jimin is reacting. He has been going out with his Hwarang hyungs a few times already and has been saying “I love you's" to them constantly, too.

The Hwarang cast has gotten really close throughout the drama filming and they all decided that their friendship is too precious to end when the drama concluded. They agreed to keep in touch even after the filming and often meet up for a meal in their free time. For once, Taehyung is the youngest in the group and he has constantly been showered with affection by the rest of the cast. He has been doted on and what else can he do other than be adorable and lovable, right?

Jimin has not said anything every single time though, he would just nod when Taehyung would tell the members he’s off to meet his Hwarang hyungs. He also does not react whenever he chances upon Taehyung ending a phone call with one of them with an “I love you too, hyung!”.

So Taehyung is at a loss as to why Jimin is reacting this way. Taehyung wants to believe that he is just being playful for the camera's sake, they're filming a Bangtan Bomb after all. Still, Taehyung’s special sixth sense for Jimin is prickling — it’s telling him that there is more here than what meets the eye. With Jimin's back turned away from the camera and him resolutely avoiding sparing even a single glance at Taehyung even as Taehyung insistently tries to get his attention, is very telling. Jimin is clearly upset and Taehyung does not know why.

Jimin is Taehyung's best friend, his brother from another mother, his soulmate and if there's anyone who can read Jimin best in their group and maybe even in the whole world, it is Taehyung. Looking at Jimin now he can see the subtle pout on Jimin's full lips, he kind of wants to pinch them flat and maybe poke at his adorable cheeks too for good measure but there is a certain something in Jimin's eyes that prevents him from doing so.

Yes, Jimin is all crinkly eye smile but he can't hide that something even with his eyes cast downwards seemingly to avoid the probing camera or maybe Taehyung's probing gaze.

But Taehyung wants to keep probing, he knows Jimin best but this something - he doesn't understand. Is it sadness? No, that's too shallow. Disappointment? Jimin is Taehyung's number one cheerleader, that one person he's sure to tell him "It's okay" so No. Frustration? A frustrated Jimin will look Taehyung straight in the eye and tell him what frustrates him so No

What is it? Why are are you being like this? Why are you upset? What did I do? What should I do? Jimin, tell me. Jimin. Taehyung’s mind is filled with questions. He wants them answered but the camera is rolling and he believes these questions are best asked in private later, if he can get Jimin to talk to him that is.

Still, he can't bear to see an upset Jimin now especially if he's the reason behind it so he tries again.

"Jimin-ah..." he calls as he tries to take Jimin's arm only for Jimin to promptly snatch it back.

So much for trying.
