    From the young age of two, Ed had always had a weird taste in his mouth in the evening. A vile flavour that burnt his throat and had him beg his mom for something, anything, to make it stop. When it had first started, she would offer him a glass of milk, because milk was a flavour and tended to help. Naturally, he always refused because, in his opinion, milk was almost worse than the burning.
