Summary
In a world where sentinels and guides are known, and generally respected, the military reserves the right to draft and assign suitable guides as needed for unbonded sentinel service personnel. Perhaps unsurprisingly, sometimes this right is abused.
When Captain Jim Ellison comes fully online, despite his personal reservations he is assigned one such draftee, and both men's lives are radically and irrevocably changed.
