Chapter Text
He was four when he finally understood that not all men are created equal.
He sat on his mothers lap in a white washed box like room that smelled of faint bleach and other chemicals. His mother squeaked his form tightly as the doctor stated with a grim look that Izuku was quirkless. His mother held her breath as fear filled her eyes as Izuku felt his hopeful expression disappear.
‘Hisashi would surely be pissed about this.’ His mother silently thought with tear filled eyes as Izuku had other worries.
All hopes of becoming a hero that would save him and his mother from that scum died instantly at the fact that he was quirkless. He prayed day and night for a quirk that would defeat the man who liked to raise his hands at his mother and him on a daily, but God had forsaken them once more. Now he really was useless like Hisashi claimed.
His mother thanked the doctor before bidding him a farewell as she rushed out of the room with Izuku tight in her grasp. Catching the train, he listens to his mother weep silently as they made their way home to the monster.
“Sorry Mommy. Looks like I’m useless after all…” Izuku quietly whispers out to his mother who had yet to say a word to him. She looked down at him with wide eyes as she choked back a sob.
“Oh Izuku! You are not useless. Don’t you ever say that sweetheart.” She cries out to him on the train before pulling him further into her chest in a form of comfort. Izuku grips onto her shirt as he tries to believe her words, but he can only wonder what fate awaits them when they get home. Maybe he can take his mother’s beating today as well as his own all by himself since he let her down. Hopefully that scum would agree.
The apartment had an eerie feeling to it when they made it back, making it hard to breathe. Izuku squeezed the life out of his mother’s hand as she pulled him inside the door. Taking off their shoes, the strong smell of alcohol assaulted the boy’s nose as well as Inko’s.
‘Not good…’ They both thought as they tiptoed down the hall, hoping to God that Hisashi was passed out from drinking. But of course, that wasn’t the case as they passed by the dinning room.
“So what did the Doctor say about the little fuckers quirk?” A slurred voice filled called out as they just passed the source that it came from. Izuku’s insides screamed ‘THREAT’, but he knew that if he ran his mother would not follow. His mother let out a small whimper knowing she had to answer the man.
“He doesn’t have one.” She said in such a small voice that Izuku barely heard it. He almost wonder if Hisashi caught her words, but the sound of a class bottle slamming into the floor next to his feet told him he did. Tiny shards of glass cut into his and his mom’s feet before his father came around the corner to slam his fist into his poor mother’s face.
“HE’S WHAT NOW?!” The said man who hit his mother bellows out with such angry it sends Izuku into a full blown panic attack. The man turns on him as well and slams his fist into his stomach, causing him to puke. “You fucking USELESS CHILD!”
His mother soon recovers and cries out for him to stop, but it does little to nothing other than to put the attention on her. The man makes his way to his mother, grabbing her by the hair as Izuku tries to recover.
“S-st-op.” He manages to say while trying to wheeze in air. Hisashi ignores him though as he drags his mother into the nearest room as she screams Izuku’s name. He knows what was going to happen next because Hisashi had threatened him before if he didn’t get a quirk to his liking.
Izuku wailed for help as his body refused to cooperate with him. ‘Not his mom, oh god anyone other than his mom!’ But God did not listen to his pleads or didn’t care as Izuku was forced to hear what he feared the most.
‘Nonononono’ he cries out in his mind as he tries to get up on his feet. but its too late as the sound of his mother’s cries fell on deaf ears and came to an abrupt stop. Only a faint gurgling noise could be heard as blood pulled out from the bathroom door. A loud thud fallowed afterwards, then footstep, and final the door opening to reveal a blood covered Hisashi holding a switch blade.
“Your turn, useless fuck.” The coldness of the words seeped deep into his bones causing him to shake in fear as the man walked forward with the bloody blade gripped tightly in his hand towards Izuku. Izuku did his best to back away with him while whimpering with fear. He knew there was no escaping the man and soon he would meet the same fate as his mother.
A ring from a cell phone broke his thoughts which in turn caused Hisashi to stop moving towards him.
“What?” The man growled out as he answered whoever was calling him. His terrifying features soon mortified into horror as his skin lost all color. “No of course not! My apologize sir for speaking- I was in the middle of-” Whoever his father was speaking to seemed to scare him enough to have him shaking like a leaf. “You want me to bring him to you? But he’s useles-… Okay, I understand. I bring him now Sir.” The call came to an end and Hisashi’s eyes were back on him in an instant, making Izuku whimper in fear.
“Looks like you don’t get to die after all. How unfortunate.”
How unfortunate indeed… Izuku would soon learn later that the person his father was talking to went by the name All For One or Sensei. He would be the one to make him into his favorite toy.
