The words broke him, ripped open his fragile heart and he left the pieces scattered out behind him as he fled.
He had a dream for them and in the end the dream turned into a recurring nightmare. Plaguing his dreams with the what could have been.
The person he had placed his trust in made him curse such a decision every single day. At times he wondered how he could have ever thought it had been a good decision.
Such an ignorant fool to think things would work out. A lovesick romantic for not seeing the signs in the others behavior, for not noting the distancing of those around them.
None of them had wanted to be around for the fallout and he couldn’t even blame them. He was a mess, the one others laughed at times and spoke of how it was endearing.
But the moment they were faced with the consequences they didn’t want to deal with it. But maybe it was his bitter thoughts speaking.
The thoughts that now ran circles around his mind, mocking his past choices and oblivious actions. That ripped him to shreds when he felt like he might be gluing himself back together.
It was a wonder none of the others could see what a broken mess his smile had become. How could they not see the shattered glass of his heart cutting him apart inside.
At times he felt like all those around him were his enemies. They had known he wasn’t the only one. Had known the other wasn’t going to stay. And none of them had spoken up, they had all sided with the other side.
And wasn’t that funny, that there were sides now. The maknae line split in two with Jimin standing alone.
He wondered why he should stay. Wished someone would take him away. Maybe it was time for him to go solo, break away from the group.
Where he used to feel included, where he felt shielded against those who wished harm. Now it felt as those within were causing him the most pain. Surely he should flee.
