Work Text:
“If you weren’t already dead, I’d kill you myself,” Lindsey says, glaring at the other occupant of the room.
“Now Lindsey, is that anyway to talk to an old friend?”
“We were never friends Lilah.”
“Yet you came back,” she responds.
“I’m here as Angel Investigations’ legal counsel. I’ve strongly expressed my opinions against doing this, but they’re adults.”
“Your son’s not. He’s only a teenager.”
“Well if it weren’t for you spiking Angel’s blood, he’s still be a toddler. Like he’s supposed to be.”
“That would have happened with or without me. Maybe not the hell dimension part, but Holtz still would have gotten his hands on Conner.”
“I was in a coma after he was born Lilah. I didn’t wake up until after he was gone.”
“You got him back though.”
“Do you know how many times he’s tried to kill us?” Lindsey asks. “As far as he’s concerned, Angel’s a monster and I’m a freak.”
“Well it’s not very often that men give birth. Even when it’s mystical.”
“Not helping Lilah.”
“Just stating the facts, Lindsey.”
“Why in the world do the Senior Partners even think we’d entertain this deal.”
“You’re here, aren’t you?”
“Lilah…”
“Because you and Angel love your son. And like it or not, he’s completely self-destructed.”
“And what exactly does that have to do with anything?”
“You take over the branch, we can give Conner a normal life.”
“We’d have to give him up,” Lindsey says sadly.
"There's no other way."
“I still don’t like it.”
“Thinks of your son, Lindsey. Think of what’s best for him.”
“It’s going to have to be Angel’s decision. He’s the boss.”
“He knows.”
