Oh, Wow!

Summary:

Kuniharu breaks Saiki's glasses and he doesn't have a spare pair. It looks like he'll just have to wear some contacts.

The prompt was "Saiki Kusuo/Toritsuka Reita, When Saiki’s dad breaks his glasses twice in one morning, he’s forced to wear contacts to school. Purple eyes exposed, it’s discovered that Saiki has the same ‘oh wow’ power as Teruhashi.

Notes:

This is for a guest, Cookie, who left a comment on my story Festival Attire.

Chapter Text

"Kusuo!" Kuniharu rushed up to his son. "I hurt my shoulder when I got out of bed this morning. Can you fix it for me?"

Saiki sighed but did as asked. He reversed time on his dad's body. Kuniharu stretched his shoulder accidentally hitting his son in the face, knocking his glasses on the floor, and breaking them. Saiki quickly fixed them and put them back on before anyone could turn to stone. He sent a glare towards his dad.

"Oh, sorry! I was just stretching my shoulder. It feels a lot better now."

"Honey? You need to get ready for work!" Kurumi called out from the kitchen.

"Oh man, I'm going to be late again!" He took of running. Or, more like he tried to. He tripped and ended up landing on Kusuo, who wasn't prepared for the impact and ended up falling down, breaking his glasses for the second time that day on the landing.

When they both stood up, Saiki held out his hand to his dad, pointing at his broken glasses.

"You want my glasses? But my eyes will look like fours without them!"

Saiki kept his hand out.

"Wait, I know! Oh, Kurumi! Can Kusuo wear a pair of your contact lenses?" He was already running up the stairs.

"Of course he can!" Saiki's mom said.

And so, Saiki went to school wearing contact lenses. His purple eyes were on display for everyone to see.

'Why is everyone moving out of my way and looking at me? I keep hearing all those gasps, too. Is Teruhashi behind me? If she is, she isn't thinking anything.' He tried to read everyone's minds, but they were all blank other than phrases like "oh, wow!" And "so pretty!"

"Hey, Saiki!" Toritsuka ran up to the psychic when two guys hopped in front of him.

"If you wanna talk to Saiki, you have to take a number." One of them said.

The other gestured to a line forming and another guy handing out numbers.

Saiki could only think one thing. 'What is going on?'
He pushed pass the two guys and stood next to Toritsuka, not saying a word.

"Oh wow! His stare is so cold!" One guy said.

"Oh wow! He didn't say anything to us. He must not care about us commoners!" Another guy added while blushing.

Toritsuka started walking and Saiki trailed after him, lost in thought. Well, more like lost in everyone else's thoughts. He's still trying to figure out why they're acting like that.

"Saiki, are you even listening?" Toritsuka asked.

'No' he projected.

"Look, he responded to that guy!" One person said.

"He only said one word, but it took my breath away!" Another guy added.

"I asked why everyone is treating you like Teruhashi." Toritsuka said.

'I don't know. The only thing that's different today is that I'm not wearing my glasses.'

A guy ran through the hallway. "Hey, everyone, Teruhashi just got here! She's in the main hallway!"

"Oh man! What should we do?" One guy said.

"I know. On one hand, we have Saiki. He's usually much more average, but today he is on par with our goddess. On the other hand, there's Teruhashi. She's an angel, but are we ever going to see Saiki's beautiful violet eyes again?"

"Violet? His eyes are grape!" Another guy said.

"Are you both being serious right now? No color can claim to be the same as Saiki's eyes!"

Murmurs of agreement  filtered throughout the crowd.

Toritsuka ended up walking with Saiki all the way to class.  The crowd was still following him, but it was smaller now that some of them had left to find Teruhashi.

'Toritsuka, eat lunch with me today.'

"Huh? Sure thing, Saiki!" Toritsuka smiled. 'If Saiki wants to eat lunch with me, I won't question it. Especially not today. Those guys are right. Saiki's eyes are nice.'
He took off towards his class.

'That solves some of my problems. Teruhashi doesn't like Toritsuka, so she won't try to eat with me today. As long as she stays away from me, the crowd should be manageable.' he walked into the class room. The people in his class followed him, but everyone else would stick around outside the doors until they had to leave for class.

"Hey, buddy! Huh? You look different. Did you do something with your hair or something?"

Saiki chose not to respond.

"He's so handsome!" A girl squealed out.

Teruhashi walked in and walked up to Saiki's desk. "Good morning, Saiki!" She said cheerfully.

"It's like seeing a god and a goddess next to each other."

"They're both so beautiful, but in different ways. Saiki keeps to himself and ignores all of us. I bet he doesn't even know everyone's name in the class, where Teruhashi knows almost everyone in the entire school!"

'I can't wait for this day to be over. Though, this is really making me respect Teruhashi a lot more. She deals with his everyday.' Saiki thought.

After the first half of the day finally passed, it was time for lunch. Saiki almost ran as he left the class room and found Toritsuka. He pulled the medium into the currently empty occult club room before anyone could see him.

"What was that all about?" Toritsuka asked.

'I can't stand all of this attention! The only ones acting normal around me are you and Nendou! Even Kaido, Saiko, and Mera couldn't stop thinking about my eyes.' Saiki ranted.

Toritsuka gave him a look that Saiki couldn't quite decipher. "Stay here and hide out for a little bit. I'll go get us some food."

Saiki smiled gratefully. He lowered himself onto the small pink couch in the room and let out a sigh after the medium left. 'I get Nendou, but why is Toritsuka acting normal near me? Is he just that interested in women that he doesn't like men at all? That doesn't seem to stop anyone else. Even Rifuta seemed interested in me, and she's in love with Teruhashi.'

Saiki tried to just tune out everyone else's thoughts for the rest of the time Toritsuka was gone. 'I didn't give him any money for my lunch.' he thought just as Toritsuka came back.

"I just got us some sandwiches and juice. They had a few coffee jellies, so I grabbed one of those for you, too."

Saiki grabbed his wallet. 'How much do I owe you?' he asked.

"Don't worry about it. I'm sure I owe you a favor, anyways." He sat down next to Saiki and handed the other psychic his lunch.

'Thanks' Saiki said before eating a bite of his sandwich.
'Hey, Toritsuka? Why haven't you been acting strange around me?'

Toritsuka had to swallow before talking.  "Suddenly seeing your eyes isn't going to make me feel any different towards you."

'I would be think that, too, but all of those people following me around don't seem to think so.' Saiki replied.

"I guess that's because they didn't realize how cute you are until they saw your eyes."

'You think I'm cute?' Saiki asked.

"You mean you didn't know? I thought you did. You're a psychic, so I thought you knew about my feelings and you were just being nice by not mentioning them."

"Feelings? So, it's more than just thinking I'm cute?'

"I- yes. I like you."

'So, you're not affected by me wearing contacts because you already like me? That. . . makes sense.' Saiki said.

"That's all you have to say? It makes sense. I like you, Saiki. The least you can do is turn me down." Toritsuka said.

'Why would I do that? You aren't just a buffer against the whole school. I like you, too.'

"I'm not just a buffer, so on some level I am a buffer?"

'Yes. I didn't want to have to spend more time with them than possible. Spending the extra time with you is just a bonus.' Saiki smiled softly.

"Saiki. . ."

'I really do like you, too, Toritsuka.'

The medium smiled before leaning into Saiki's side. They sat there quietly chatting and eating until lunch was almost over.

"Saiki? Promise me something?" Toritsuka asked when the bell rang.

'What is it?'

"Get new glasses today."

'I already planned on it.'

Chapter 2

Summary:

I got asked to do a sequel for this. I wasn't really sure what to do, so this is just Toritsuka and Saiki going shopping for new glasses.

Chapter Text

'Come shopping with me.' Saiki laced his fingers through Toritsuka's so that they were holding hands. He had been waiting for Toritsuka to finish changing shoes. A group of people had gathered around him.

"Shopping? Oh! For your new glasses?" Toritsuka smiled. "Yeah, let's go!"

Saiki dragged Toritsuka around the crowd and out the doors. 'we should just go to the mall. I don't really care what the glasses look like.'

"Can you get something clear? I like seeing your eyes." Toritsuka said.

'No. My eyes being visible is what caused this entire mess.'

"Yeah, but this mess is what got us to confess our feelings to each other." Toritsuka stumbled when Saiki stopped suddenly.

'I don't regret that. I just don't want them to keep following me.' He gestured to his newly acquired fan club. It seemed to be growing as they walked down the street.

Toritsuka sighed but agreed.

They arrived at the mall shortly after that. The people moving out of Saiki's way part of this wasn't that bad. 'There should be a store right around here. . .' Saiki said, trying to remember where the store his grandfather and Nendou had went to. 'Here it is.'
He dragged Toritsuka inside.

"This is a pretty weird place." Toritsuka said as he looked around. "Glasses, workout equipment, coffee jelly. . ."

'yeah.' Saiki nodded. 'Help me pick a pair out.'

"Really? You want my help?" Toritsuka had a stupid, happy look on his face.

Saiki paused in his searching. 'You're my boyfriend.'

Toritsuka grinned. "I didn't know you could be this sweet, Kusuo!"

Saiki blushed, slightly. 'Juat help me look.'

Saiki was hoping to find a pair similar to his past pair, but that didn't seem to be working.

"What about these, Kusuo?" Toritsuka held up a pair of star shaped sunglasses.

'No.' Flashes of Nedou holding a similar pair up to his grandfather went through his head. Saiki shuddered.

Toritsuka pointed but put them back down.

A few more minutes and Toritsuka held up another pair. These were perfect. "What about this pair?" They had blue lenses with a black frame. The style was similar enough to his old ones.

'Perfect, Reita.' Saiki checked the price. They we're pretty cheap. He could probably afford another pair. . . He sighed. A few seconds later, the blue glasses and a pair of glasses similar to his dad's but with blue frames, we're in Saiki's hands. He quickly purchased them both.

"Why did you get the clear glasses, too?" Toritsuka asked after they left.

Saiki sighed. 'You asked me too. I won't wear them in public, but I'll wear them when I'm with you.'

"Kusuo. . ." Toritsuka launched himself into Saiki's arms. The psychic easily caught him. Toritsuka pulled his face back to stare into Saiki's eyes. "Today was definitely worth it."

Saiki sighed. 'Yeah, It was.'

Notes:

I am still accepting prompts. I do mostly m/m. I don't like pwp, but I don't mind NSFW. I do want more than a word or two, but if you feel like that's enough, than that's okay, too.
You can comment a prompt, email me at [email protected], or go to my Wattpad, cookie5298.

I am also accepting requests for sequels of my previous fics and any future ones I put out as of 2/19/19. I won't do a sequel for the single pwp fic I have out, but all of my other fics are open game, including the few non Saiki K fics I have.
