And Leo/Need have come to the realization that Emu has a crush on Mafuyu, and are now trying to wingman her.
In which Emu tries to make Mafuyu smile, Mafuyu wants to figure out why she's thinking about Emu so much, and Leo/Need are a little early on the whole crush idea.

He lets out a hum. But it does not feel like a hum of approval to her; it's almost like he doubts her answer. As he reaches for a bag of donut holes again (the same ones that she wanted), his eyes dart to the side to look at her.
It was not a gaze of just noticing her. He was looking through her.
The hum, the look; he saw right through her own facade and into the vacant plane that was her own feelings.
She felt sick.
