Work Text:
Nobunaga rubs her back soothingly but her frown is still present.
He leans down to kiss her forehead. Her frown doesn’t vanish at first, but she lets out a breath she’d been holding for long and looks at him. The frown was gone now so she mustered up a smile.
It wasn’t a good day. Actually, it was an anxious night. Sometimes anxiety would kick in; mostly about the future. Nobunaga wasn’t one to ponder about these thoughts. At least not as much as she did. A new beginning, a new year often made her anxious. She was loved though, by her friends and by her love, and yet sometimes these wandering thoughts would manifest in her mind.
“It’s okay.”
It was Nobunaga who said that.
“It’s okay.”
He said it more softly each time he combed through her hair.
“It’s okay,” This was something they said to each other in anxious times.
“It’s okay.” It’s okay to feel anxious, it’s okay to worry, it’s okay to feel down. It’s okay.
They locked eyes and love was clear in them. He moved his hand to her cheek as well and said once again, “It’s —“
She kissed him, “— okay.”
They both snuggled closer. Their warmth and support for each other was more than okay. Another day, another beginning, the unknown will always feel frightening, but as long as they had each other: everything will be okay.
