Prologue: The Minority (Or A Universe Where Izuku Midoriya Has A Quirk)
Astronomers often speak of the universe as singular, one seemingly infinite plane of existence in space. They believe that the multiverse is a series of alternate “pocket universes” within the main universe. They believe that the multiverse contains infinite worlds with infinite possibilities. In one world, a man could grow up to become president. In an alternate world, that same man could grow up to be a raging drunk arrested for public urination.
However, astronomers are wrong about the existence of a “singular universe” . Each particular world that people belong to is in its own “separate universe” . Each “separate universe” has a multiverse of its own. The particular universe of this story takes place in one of “heroes” and “villains” .
In this universe, humanity evolved beyond its current limits and developed superpowers known as “Quirks”. The first child on Earth to be born with a Quirk glowed brightly and was broadcasted for the world to see. That child served as the shining signal for a new age. Quirks became more and more prominent in the human race as much of the population lost a joint in their pinky toe. The absence of this joint designated those who would be born with a quirk. Quirks were passed on from generation to generation and the rise of such powers lead to a surge in criminal activity.
Those with dark hearts indulged in villainy and used their abilities to get whatever they desired. It was only until the rise of the Quirk One For All that peace was brought to the world. Heroes emerged to stop the villains that threatened society.
Despite the rise of heroes, this did not put a stop to villainy. It is human nature to fight for power. Good and evil have been locked in this struggle since the emergence of Quirks. Some say that it is “fate” for the weak to rule over the strong. Does fate command heroes to rule over society and keep the public safe? Or does fate command villains to destroy the peace one day and finally run free again without care? These are hard questions to answer because the Quirks of both heroes and villains vary in power. Just because a person has a powerful Quirk, that doesn’t necessarily mean that they are strong. They might not have been chosen by “fate” to rule over the weak.
Some children aren't born with Quirks at all though. These children are often ridiculed by their peers. Every child dreams of being a hero one day. At age four, the existence of a quirk can make or break that dream. Those without Quirks are seen as inferior, ones who have not evolved alongside the rest of humanity.
In one universe, Izuku Midoriya was born without a quirk. He was “the minority” of huamnity. But, through meeting his idol All Might, he was able to inherit the hero’s Quirk All For One and harness its power for his own to fulfill his dream of becoming the number one hero. He was a kind and selfless person, willing to risk everything to prove himself and protect his friends. He had self-confidence issues and used to be a nervous wreck, but eventually came into his own as he became more confident in himself.
That is not this universe. This is a universe where Izuku Midoriya inherited a Quirk, although one completely unrelated to his parents’ Quirks. It’s a Quirk that’s deadly, one that could easily be used for villainy. This is a universe where Izuku Midoriya is not the “cinnamon roll” that everybody knows him as. He may be the similar to the Izuku Midoriya from the first universe in terms of a few personality traits and mannerisms, but the two Izuku Midoriyas are very different.
This is the story of a neurotic, more twisted, and philosophical Izuku Midoriya overcame the stigma around his Quirk, grew out of his sadistic madness, and became a hero along with his best friend/sidekick, Secco. With Midorya’s deadly and powerful Quirk and Secco’s unorthodox ability, the two would prove that just because you may be twisted, you don’t have to be a villain. You can curbe your urges and become a hero too.
