He'd imagined her grabbing him by the hair, forcing him to his knees; imagined her slapping him hard across the face, hard enough to leave the shape of her hand there like a brand; imagined her taking his big, brutish hand in hers and pushing it up under the skirt of her nightgown, up and up until his fingers made it clear just how sorry he was.
