Chapter Text
“Kacchan,” there was a pause, Deku sighed, trying to calm himself down. “I’m trying to do my thing here, can you please stop interrupting?”
Katsuki just hummed once more before popping his bubblegum, not impressed at the way his boyfriend (and boss, depending on your point of view) had a gun pointed to a super hero's forehead, one stupid enough to fall for Deku’s trap. The green haired villain rolls his eyes, also not impressed at the blonde. He is aware of Katsuki in the corner, trying to catch his attention every damn second, he is aware of his clothes, actions, hums, but it shouldn’t be time for this, not now.
‘This is boring’ the blonde thinks, and pops his bubblegum again.
He crosses his legs, suddenly regretting using his best shorts today, just because he wanted to impress Deku… How sad. With a hand, he throws a grenade in the air, catching it lazily soon after. With the other, he plays with his fishnet stockings, wishing that another person was playing with it. Truly, how sad, his beloved didn’t even bat an eye when he arrived. Too busy trying to catch a hero, or something like that. He didn’t even commented about Katsuki’s new hair color (he thought Deku would love the pink tips as much as he did), not looking away from his notebook, where he tends to write all of his plans. Katsuki likes to think he has a whole page to himself, even though he doubts, considering his boyfriend's love for heroes being bigger than his love for Katsuki. But, anyways, it's nice to think. If he didn't think so, he would feel the urge to burn it to ashes, so it was better for both if he thought that way.
But, as a good boyfriend (debatable), Katsuki knew how much Izuku had been working on this, catching this guy, Todoroki Shouto or something, that’s why he can’t stand seeing this situation: is so boring. His boyfriend worked so much on this, and in the end, even the hero didn’t even seem impressed with that gun on his face as the villain spoke, about changing the world or something. Honestly, who cares? Change the world if you want, Katsuki thinks it's pretty boring to explains his reasons to destroy everything. I mean, if you want to, then do it! Who are you trying to convince, Deku? The talk about injustice and powers only made Bakugou yawn. Even that guy kept a bored expression on and that’s why Bakugou got up, with the intention to change it.
Deku only noticed his presence when he was already behind him, looking over his shoulder to the guy. “Is it over, Deku?” he whined, hugging the villain’s arm, who just sighed and tried to snap it out, without success, but not that he used his full strength anyways.
“Kacchan, I told you, this is important.”
“It is fucking boring, that’s what it is.”
Beneath them, the hero tried to remember about his existence, “Excuse me?”
That’s finally when Bakugou took a good look at the hero, and honestly, he liked what he saw, he could understand Deku’s interest on him, but, if Deku was interest on that guy’s strength, Katsuki was interested on his looks, of course. What a pretty hero they found, he hoped he would stay this pretty with a hole on his forehead, even. Though he didn’t doubt that possibility. Turquoise and gray eyes stared at Bakugou, and if you knew how to read them, you could see that the man was a little bit confused at Katsuki’s existence. Nice face, nice body, also, but what really caught his attention was his hair, half white and half red. Maybe that’s why Deku was interested on him? He couldn’t help but to pout.
“Hey, hey, Deku” he whined once again. “Should I do that with my hair?”
“Not now… Wait, what?”
“The half’n’half thing. Wouldn’t I look pretty?”
Finally, the hero spoke, coughing before, “You shouldn’t do the whole hair, though. Maybe just the tips, just as it is now.”
Katsuki got excited, finally some recognition, “Eh? You like it, Icyhot?”
As for Deku, he was a bit desperate already, “What’s with the pet names now…”
“It matches you hair, but if it was red, would match your eyes.”
“I’m tired of red.”
“I didn’t say pink was bad, don’t get me wrong. But, if you are going to do my previous suggestion, I suggest you dye the other half blue, but just the tips.”
“That’s fucking… Deku, what do you think, nerd?”
“I don’t think anything, can you… Please just sit?”
“Why should I fucking sit? This guy isn’t boring to talk to” Katsuki's ways to say 'I like the guy, can we keep him?'
“Thank you.”
“Please, Kacchan, we can do what you want later, but for now can you…” one hand passed through his dark green hair, anxiously. Oh, god, what was wrong with Katsuki, really? He knew he shouldn’t have let him come inside the building, even if he is needed for the plan. Preventing him from talking more, Katsuki started to hum whenever Deku tried to finish his quote, interrupting his boss. A ridiculous scene, from whatever perspective.
“I’m very sorry to intrude” Shouto spoke, carefully. “I already know who you are, Deku, but the young man is…?”
“Wow, he is so damn polite. Is that why you wanted him, Deku?”
Midoriya just ignored, “No one you should care about, for your own good.”
That got a little under Katsuki’s nerves, to be honest, who was that nerd to say that about him? His own boyfriend? Ugh, his mom would be disappointed to know that Katsuki has fallen for such a guy. How could he say that? Did he ever think about his feelings, at all? The blonde pushed him, to show his annoyance and present himself to the hero.
“Deku’s boyfriend.”
“He is not.”
“Shut up, nerd.”
The hero seemed confused, but slowly nodded.
“Look, Kacchan. Kacchan, sweetie” he sighed. “If you sit patiently and wait for me to finish here, we can do whatever you want later, what about it? Didn’t you want to watch that movie or something?”
The blonde blinked, and then smirked, and oh, how Izuku hated that smirk. He just wanted to arrive home after this and have a good rest, but that wouldn’t be possible, considering Kacchan’s mood today. Well, if that’s what he needs to do to finally kill a hero…
“Alright, Deku, but it’s better if you finish it soon, huh.”
That’s what I was trying to do since the beginning, he thought, but decided to keep quiet. He knew better than anyone that it was better to not discuss with Bakugou, specially in the middle of an operation like this. And besides, Katsuki has already taken too much of his time.
When he looked back to the hero, he finally noticed his mistake.
Apparently, he got too distracted with Katsuki (like always) and didn’t notice what was going on with the captured hero. First information you need to know: Midoriya drugged him so his power, fire and ice, was weakened, so he wouldn’t be able to burn the ropes on his wrist and neither freeze Midoriya to death, but, since he was distracted, he didn’t see the tiny, really tiny flame on his finger, slowly burning the rope on his wrists, then feet.
His eyes went wide, he shoot the gun, but no use, the hero was already up, a bit of his powers back already, but enough to hurt Deku (or worse, Kacchan). “Shit” he mumbled, stepping back. He could fight, but what about Katsuki? He glanced to his partner, who wasn’t dumb and was already prepared for the rest of the plan, just waiting for the signal. “Kacchan!”
The blonde nodded, Midoriya ran, Shouto lifted one hand, the fire one, ready to attack.
Katsuki pressed the hidden button on his pocket, the hero’s eyes went wide as the building started to fall down, the explosion separating him and the couple. Dynamites. In time, he used an ice barricade to save himself, because if that didn’t happen, he would be dead now. The thought made him clench his teeth, fading the smoke away, the building continues to fall into pieces, and through that smoke, he couldn’t see Deku neither that ‘Kacchan’ one, so, between staying there and try to find the duo that probably already escaped and saving his own life, he choose the best option.
Next time, he would arrest Deku.
Midoriya was angry.
Biting his nails, he was unable to let that go, and by that, I mean what just happened, he had Shouto, the number one hero, at his hands, ready to be killed by his gun, by Deku. Weeks of planning and everything was going according to his plans, until Katsuki started to make that fuss. When he told Katsuki about the plan before, since he would need his explosions in case everything went wrong, he didn’t think the blonde would be like that but, oh, how stupid of him!
Katsuki was always like that, why should he expect something?
At least, he could hope that Shouto was dead now, after those explosives, right? But still, even if he was dead, it wasn’t the same, Kacchan’s explosions and himself killing the hero with his own hands (and gun).
“You are mumbling” he didn’t even jump at the sound of Katsuki’s voice on his ears, the blonde bending over the chair Midoriya was sitting at to offer him a cup of tea, knowing it would calm the villain down.
He accepted the drink, but that didn’t make him less mad at the blond.
After a while of silence, Katsuki sighed, rolling his eyes as he stepped back, daring to even pout. “Gee, nerd, you still mad about it?”
“It happened literally an hour ago, I have the right to be still mad about it.”
“I already said sorry.”
“I spent weeks planning, Katsuki.”
His nose twitched, disapproving of the use of his real name, “Not Katsuki” oh, this again. “Kacchan. You call me Kacchan, not Katsuki.”
“It’s your name, though” dealing with the blonde could be either very amusing or down annoying and, whenever Katsuki started to whine about the use of the nickname, Deku wanted to punch himself on the face.
“You called me Kacchan when we were kids.”
Midoriya lifted an eyebrow, taking a sip of his cup, “That’s why it should make you uncomfortable still being called that. I call you that in public so the heroes won’t know your real name, but alone it’s… And anyways, you disliked this nickname until a few years ago.”
Right spot, considering how his face went blank for a second or two, “That’s… Shut up. Don’t call me by my name.”
“Alright, Kacchan” he sighed, but, seeing how Katsuki tried to hide his smile behind his hand, he couldn’t help but to smile too, behind his cup. He never could be mad with Kacchan for long, not when he acted like this, at least.
But again, acting like this was what fucked his plans.
Anyways, he needed to stop thinking about that, that’s why he decided to concentrated on another thing, another person, the blonde sitting on his table. He finally noticed his new hair (he changed all the time, trying to catch his attention and normally, Deku would comment about it, anything, just to make Kacchan notice that he noticed the changes, but not getting his hopes that up), the pink tips matched strangely well, and for a second, he asked himself if he would follow that hero’s advice and paint a side blue. It would look good, but he would never say that to Kacchan out loud, the blonde is already too arrogant for it.
His eyes may or not have stopped on that open stocking, more than it should, but again, Katsuki didn’t notice, so it was alright.
Looking up, to his face, he saw the pink makeup surrounding his eyes, probably to match the pink on his hair. Midoriya always wonders why Katsuki dresses up so much to meet up with him; he has seen the blonde on the streets, walking around with classmates, and, well, that’s not his style. That’s why he is so sure he is just trying to catch Deku’s attention, but if that’s the case, Deku won’t fall for that. When did Katsuki became like this? So thirsty to be recognized, to be praised by him? Well, he knows the answer, he knows everything about Kacchan, but that should be left to be discussed another day. Maybe he should address it, because that annoying attitude was what bought trouble for Midoriya many times.
He is pissed just remembering about it.
Thinking about the various times he tried to send Katsuki away, to leave him alone to work, but the blonde insisted on being around, Deku knows he can’t escape. Actually, he knows he can, but at the same time, he doesn’t want to hurt Katsuki again. He needs to be patient with him.
But, when the blonde bends over and ask about Deku’s promise if he sat and waited (there was certain implication with his tone that just got Deku even madder), Midoriya couldn’t help but to snap. Getting up and putting the blonde on his shoulder, he opened the door, leaving him outside before closing.
He went to sleep trying not to worry about Katsuki’s whines at the door about exploding the door.
Eventually, the blonde went home.
Deku just needed to rest, and hoped to not see Katsuki in a long time.
Kirishima smiled at his friend, who seemed in down spirits for a few days now. Currently, they were walking on campus, Bakugou being escorted to his next class, considering Kirishima had a free period now, but he couldn’t help but to notice the disappointed sighs and lost gazes from Katsuki’s part. It wasn’t his normal, but also, Eijirou couldn’t say it never happened. It happened some times already in the few years he has got to know Katsuki, but again, his mood’s tend to change a bit fast.
Sometimes, the blonde would be extremely excited, talking about a new home made bomb he developed (Kirishima didn’t know what was the deal about bombs, but if that made his friend happy…), or he would be his brash and rude self or, like now, quiet and overthinking about everything.
It could just meant that, of course.
“Did you fight with your boyfriend?”
Right on the bull’s eyes, he saw how his mouth trembled before growing into a pout, his brows frowning at the red haired. “How did you…”
So that was it, another fight. He thought so, honestly, it was normally the only thing capable of making Bakugou this sad, that’s why Kirishima never told him what he thought about the situation. What he thought? Well, you see, besides bombs, his boyfriend, Izuku, was his favorite topic. Once he started talking about him, he wouldn’t stop, seriously. Kirishima missed class because Katsuki would get angry if he left while he was talking about their date-not-date, his pupils almost taking the shape of hearts. It was basically an obsession, and honestly, from what Kirishima heard, the guy, Izuku, was pretty afraid of Katsuki, or didn’t even recognize him. He heard about him closing the door on Katsuki’s face various times now, or telling him to wait somewhere and then leaving him alone and never coming back, but that never seemed to be a problem for the blonde, he would always say it was a joke or something.
But, well, who was Kirishima to say a thing about the couple? Right?
“You seemed a bit down, I wonder if you two had a fight” maybe he finally told Katsuki to fuck off.
“I’m not, fuck you” but he bit his lip down anyways, wondering if he should tell about their last fight. Eijirou saw the stolen glances, hesitant, thoughtful, but he pretended he didn’t, it would give more confidence to his moody friend. “I did something.”
“What?”
“I can’t tell, Shitty Hair.”
“Alright.”
“But,” he continued “he’s mad at me.”
Again. “So?”
“I… Apologized” that was a strong word for him, Eijirou couldn’t even wonder how he managed to say sorry, if he really did. Maybe he just threw a bouquet on the poor guy’s face and left. “But what I did was, uh, pretty big I guess, that’s it.”
Kirishima hummed, trying to reach a solution to the problem. Well, first, he should leave the guy alone, but seeing the sparkle on those crimson eyes, looking at Eijirou and waiting for the solution of everything, he couldn’t do that to Katsuki. When it was about Izuku, Katsuki tended to turn back into a spoiled kid, so Kirishima could never tell him the truth.
“Surprise him?” he finally said.
“Surprise…?”
“Do something you think he will like” bombs, it’s Katsuki’s first thought, but he kept quiet and listen. “Buy a cake, dress up in some cool clothes, dunno, he’s your man, not mine. Some romantic shit.”
“That’s fucking stupid” but he smirks anyways.
Kirishima smiles, softly, “I hope you two get better soon, then.”
A week later, there’s a knock on Midoriya’s door.
He doesn’t receive visits, just one, the one person that know his current address, and also knew almost all of the previous ones. He ignores the first bell, the second, but when it starts to ring, trippingly, he can’t stand it anymore, so he opens, knowing what Is waiting for him outside.
There, on the hallways, Katsuki smiles.
“I bought you a cake, nerd” he shows the package. Midoriya lifts an eyebrow, not impressed. “And also…” he cocks his head to the side, making his blonde locks swings, as if Deku hadn’t noticed before, the new addition to his hair, the blue tips on his left side. “Did you like it, Deku? Just like that hero told and, telling you, I thought it would be stupid, but I think he was right? I’m even kinda glad he escaped because next time you catch him, I can tag along and ask about new ideas for the hair, what do you think, Deku? Did you like it, nerd?”
When Midoriya closes the door on Kacchan's face, the green-haired villain doesn’t regret it a bit.
