It was a regular day in Morioh, the sky as blue as ever, nothing much happening as usual, everything was normal except the intense battle between Josuke Higashikata and his mortal enemy Rohan Kishibe. The atmosphere on the porch of Rohan’s two-story wooden home was dense as they faced each other in a game of cards. Rohan, already convinced Josuke was cheating (which he was) eyed him and the dice carefully, noticing Josuke seemed very nervous.
“Well, roll the dice I’ve set down, Higashikata,” Rohan taunted as his glare dug into Josuke’s soul.
“R-right, of course,” Josuke said nervously as he tossed the dice. He saw Josuke take a big gulp and roll the dice, he rolled a 3. Rohan stared at the dice hard, he saw it start forming into something else. “Crap,” Josuke whispered.
“Hey! You are cheating!” Rohan yelled as he stood up. Suddenly something smelled of smoke and it smelled really close by.
“Uh, hey mister Kishibe y-your house is on fire!” Josuke said panicked as he stood up as well, “We need to call someone!”
“I don’t care about the house! It can be replaced, you just cheated at our game!” Rohan accused. “What’s in those die?”
“N-nothing!” Josuke grabbed his dice and stuffed them in his pocket “Well, good luck with your house, Mister Rohan!” Josuke ran off quickly as Rohan’s house filled with flames.
“Higahikataaaaaaa!” Rohan yelled as Josuke ran. “God damn that kid to hell,” Rohan cursed under his breath.
Just then a tall man in white was walking by and saw Rohan throwing a tantrum on his front yard. “Um, excuse me, sir?” The tall man said, Rohan stopped his stomping about and huffed. “Have you seen a kid about yay high, big pompad- um your house is on fire!”
“I know it’s on fire, I can replace it. And yes, before you ask, that bastard ran off that way,” Rohan sassed and pointed. Josuke could still be seen running.
“Thank you, but we should really call someone,” the man said.
“Fine,” Rohan sighed “I can take care of myself, you know?” He took out his cellphone and dialed 119*. He told them what happened, practically ranting the whole situation and then hung up. “Fire department is on the way.”
“Mind if I stay?” the mysterious man asked, his hat almost covering one of his eyes.
“Um, sure, if you like watching things burn,” Rohan said awkwardly. “Don’t you have that kid to catch up with?”
“I know where he lives, don’t worry,” The man said coldly. Rohan felt a serious tone form everything he said, it was almost intimidating if he wasn’t so prideful himself.
“You do?” Rohan made a confused face “Who are you?”
“I’m his nephew,” the man stated. Rohan’s eyes lit up.
“You’re his what!?” Rohan exclaimed “But you’re- you look so much older? You look at least in your twenties! He’s sixteen!”
“It’s complicated and I’m 28 years old,” the man lowered his head.
“Wow, that’s crazy,” Rohan said “I never knew such a thing could happen.” He went into thought for a second then made a realization “Wait 28!? That’s almost twice his age! That’s older than me!”
“Mhm.”
“Okay, I see, it’s a touchy subject. So, besides that, you didn’t tell me your name?”
“Jotaro Kujo,” the man said quickly. It felt like he almost didn’t want to talk.
“Mister Kujo, then?”
“Just call me Jotaro, please.”
“Okay, Jotaro, I’m Rohan Kishibe and since you want to be nice, you can call me Rohan,” the shorter man introduced himself.
“Okay, Rohan,” Jotaro said as he shook Rohan’s hand and looked at Rohan with his cold look. Something about it made Rohan’s heart jump and he turned his head away, letting go of the taller man’s hand quickly.
“Yeah,” Rohan replied.
The fire department finally arrived and began to put out the fire in a rush. Rohan and Jotaro watched quietly, no words spoken for a long time. From the streets they watched multiple firemen and women put out the fire with hoses. Rohan crossed his arms as he watched.
“Are you sure you can replace all this?” Jotaro asked sounding a hint of concerned.
“I bought six mountains, I can replace my house,” Rohan nearly bragged.
“You’re pretty rich then, huh?”
“I make a hit manga, why wouldn’t I be?” Rohan sounded annoyed, how did this guy not know him?
“I see. I don’t read much of that stuff.” Well that’s how.
“Oh,” Rohan said. “Well maybe you should.”
“Maybe I will, Rohan,” Jotaro said.
Rohan almost caught himself blushing and he turned away again to hide it.
